One of the best weapons is probably the moddable laser rifle. All mods, all Laser-related perks (including those aquired by completing challenges), fast shot trait, and an optimized luck build the laser rifle becomes a death beam. Take Psycho and Slasher on top to be really OP. Throw Turbo in the mix and you are invincible. Fucking turbo & stackable psycho/slasher is a joke.

Also, Dragofireheart, you seem to emphasize taking the accuracy-increasing trait for full-auto weapons. Pretty pointless imo, as accuracy (or sway, is what it really is), is almost eliminated when aiming down the sights, and also there is a stupid aim assist feature that cannot be turned off in-game (on consoles and PC). Fast shot all the way.

"It's amazing how the fully modded Laser Rifle outclasses 90% of guns. Its sniping damage is on par with Sniper Rifles, it's crit chance is comparable to other crit weapons, it's extremely accurate, it's AP cost is reasonable, it's reload is decently quick, it cuts through even power armor on Very Hardcore, it's durable enough to not need constant repairs compared to most weapons, Optimized Micro fusion Cells gives it fantastic modifiers for any enemy, ammo is quite common due to being able to convert any energy weapon ammo into MF cells, and you can easily find a Laser Rifle within 10 minutes of starting the game in the town of Nipton: starting from Goodsprings, go south and east until you reach the NCR Correctional Facility. From there, go south until you find some train tracks. Follow the train tracks south until you hit Nipton. Enemies along the way: Geckos, Bark Scorpions, Coyotes. Nothing a Shovel can't handle."

Ah. You, DragoFireHeart, already made that laser rifle observation. It is insanely powerful.

I find all the laser weapons to be better than the plasma counterparts. Shame really.

I'm not a fan of the visual design of most of the energy weapons, but the design is mostly set in stone, unfortunately.

LOL is this real? Sounds like a troll to me.

He probably liked Fallout 3's setting more and only likes it subjectively. I am more objective when I come to rating RPGs, you can set it in a terrible setting but if it has lots of C&C and feels like a real RPG instead of an action game with leveling up I'll like it.

Why can't it be real? I'm someone who agrees with him. Sure it's subjective, and I'll admit that for me personally... it's probably 90% about setting, presentation and atmosphere. Fallout 3 was a more involving experience for me than New Vegas ended up being and this is coming from someone who considers FO1 and FO2 their favorite all-time games.

Triggered Discipline, even in real time, makes a difference for firing full auto weapons. Even with ADS.

Course Fast Shot is superior because it plays nice with Riot Shotgun.

Imo best fun i had was to make high AP character with revolvers some inteligence to get that AP reduced cost perk and you are looking at huge amount of shots and if by any chance you have that gun or lucky then you can take most of enemies in game.

Since we are talking about New Vegas weapons I have to ask. What is the point of the Bozar?

I only used it for the first time in my last play through and it confused me. It has a scope, but no real accuracy to speak of and had a massive bullet spread to go along with it.

Unless I was going something wrong or using it wrong. The only thing I found it was any good at was what I call "vault sweeping" point blank range cleaning up of tight spaces. But except for the magazine size my 12.7 SMG did pretty much the same thing for fewer caps.

To make you envious of the superior Fallout 2 version.

The Bozar in New Vegas is utter trash, what with having such a low clip and lower damage than the regular LMG. Also, the Grunt perk doesn't work with it without unofficial patches.

Pump melee. Pick Oh Baby!, Super Slam! Stonewall.

Laugh at little men with guns.
Then get shot.

Yeah but what kind of fucked up dumbass doesn't have the unofficial patch(es)? :troll:

Because only a fucking retard comes to a(mostly) circlejerk forum like this to talk about Fallout 3 in a positive light. He also said objectively, when objectively the complete opposite is true.(New Vegas has better productions values, more detail, more content, etc.) In this case I think the codex was wrong, should have used Hanlon's razor.
Codex always overestimates people by labeling them as trolls when in reality they're just :retarded:.

Actually, a little slasher+ psycho + weapon binding ritual really helps you deal with Deathclaws in melee.
Though one on one they get knocked down with some consistency.

Hate those perks along with special ones.

How do you kill Heck Gunderson without fighting all casino? He seems to never leave the bar for his suite.

I didn't want to side with the crazy top hat cannibal guy, just shoot the land grabbing bastard. Anyway, found solution how to kill him and stay on agreeable terms with glowing society.
Traits - Skilled for smoother early game and fear the reaper for more perks. I'll be using cover, running and savescumming a lot because of the later but oh well. When i'm at max level (35) i will be changing traits (via OWB auto-doc) to Gifted and something else, most likely built to destroy, though i am still arguing between built to destroy, precision and adrenaline junkie for the final second trait.
Are these traits from some mod? I don't think i saw them when creating my char.

There is only one Really Cool TM way to create a character in FNV, and it doesnt involve laser rifles that look like mini refrigerators in first person view, or plasma weapons that look like the inside of a television set or one handed katanas (do some research ffs Sawyer):

- get a 9 or so agility (10 leads to an animation bug) and small guns as one of your main skills
- find and put on the sheriff's duster with the badge (it's under the bed in sheriff's shack in Prim) and your favorite looking cowboy hat
- do the mission for NCR that lets you get Ranger Sequioa off the head ranger
- get appropriate perks (Cowboy, etc)
- handcraft custom ammo for sequioa and mod its durability up a bit (by default its ridiculously low for no reason whatsoever, i modded it to be the same as the brush gun, which uses the same ammo)
- walk around in the game while squinting your eyes IRL and saying random Clint Eastwood phrases and keeping Ranger Sequioa holstered
- when a bad guy draws on you or stupidly starts shooting, tap left mouse button to quick draw the sequioa, hold down right mouse button if they are some distance away to bring up iron sights, and then one bullet per unfortunate soul (with a lowered hitpoints mod like Project Nevada)

There is no other build in FNV that will feel anywhere near as badass as this.

Say what you want, but the holorifle motion make for badass laser shotgun action.

Get a lingerie costume, a sunglass, and you get the very image of some heroine from a comic/manga.

Well, do you feeling lucky today, hunk?

Ok number crunchers, is Gatling Laser+ the weapon with the best DPS? I was thinking Ester might be better, but the splash damage can kill you unlike the Gatling Laser.

What kills stuff fastest? Can't be anything from Guns as they lack the raw power Energy Weapons / Explosives have. Melee might, but I hate melee in New vegas.
