I have been giving Rimworld an honest go of it. I always wanted to get into it and now seemed like a good enough time. When not fumbling through Rimworld, I am playing Planet Crafter (1.0 was released fairly recently), Titan Quest Anniversay Edition (working through the last two expansions I haven't played yet), and Dungeon Travelers To Heart 2 in Another World. The Fallout 4 update has me curious, so I will most likely give that a try when it releases on the 25 on April. Have my eye on a game called Keplerth as well.

After 40h Monster Hunter World is finished. I wish ending was more epic, since last boss was alot easier than previous 3 bosses. Overall game is great, some challenging fights, not that many boss mechanics biased against melee. Most challenging boss for me was Nergigante (fucker didn't want to drop tail after it was cut off), fight was fair and I just sucked. I played whole game with longsword and was happy with what I chose. I wasn't super happy with grinding bosses to make better gear. Sometimes when camera perspective changed because I won, but I thought I died and was like: "Fuck! Oh I won?". Good times. Now off to Iceborne.

when i was making my list for the ongoing "top rpgs" vote, motb was a no-brainer for me, i just love its story that much, so i decided to replay it. i created a character, invested some time into leveling it up, finished the first dungeon, but it just... it just didnt feel right. i had no story with this fella, and it was reflected in his very short, disappointing list of feats. like it or not, the story of lord captain must start in west harbor! so i am going through nwn2 OC now. not gonna lie, its a mediocre roleplaying experience. the game is definitely streamlined, with minor c&c and shit. i still enjoy combat and the system though, i always liked its 3.5 implementation, so its not all that bad. well, at least i know how to beat it fast, its probably my fifth replay since its release, so soon enough i will be in rashemen and get to the good part.

elanee is such a fucking stuck up bitch, i want to take her to a romantic dinner in neverwinter docks, and feed her this
3.2.1_icon_0.jpg

i would rather recruit (and romance) her pet badger than her, what a dogshit, annoying character she is. good thing im not really into romances (except for me wife, safiya, that i will romance), because i would be infuriated with her being the only option for a male PC.

I played through Weird West on Normal. A day after finishing it I started a Very Hard Nimpossible run. I'll probably post about it in the Weird West thread when I'm done (or dead).

Played a couple of demos and games from that FPS steam fest.
Dread Templar - feels competently made but it just didn't grab me. Also found it somewhat bland visually, you can find a lot of more beautiful stuff by checking out Quake mapping community.
Not a new game too but Severed Steel demo was fun. It gave me the impression that it's already showed everything interesting this game has to offer tho.
Brutal John feels junky to play but the plot and presentation being this over the top parody of Duke Nukem is weirdly endearing.
KVLT was tiny bit junky but fun. Plays almost like survival horror in the sense that you can die very quickly if not careful and ammo feels scarce. Reminded of FLAW demo i played some time ago.
TEXNOPLAZM platforming was way too junky for me.

Replayed Path of Achra and Erannorth Chronicles recently.
I think i had enough of the former after completing one run. Wasted a few hours and didn't make much progress in the latter due to the choice paralysis, finally finding the race/class i want to play as and realising after 30 minutes of playing that i don't want to play as this particular combo. Had enough of Chronicles too methinks.

Back to playing Doom mods.

I finally finished Dragon's Dogma 2 the other day. The game is awesome, 10/10 :obviously: if you don't like it, it's because you have shit taste (or because you can't into action RPGs for some reason, which is also an acceptable reason).

I tried a few demos:

Swordhaven something something by the ATOM guys - this was pretty great, turn-based party fantasy RPG. Check it out if you haven't already and consider backing the Kickstarter.

Passageway of the Ancients - janky RTWP fantasy RPG where you play human shapeshifted draconians with the numbers filed off. I would not recommend anyone play this, however, if you were looking forward to it, I definitely recommend checking out the demo first and maybe waiting on reviews.

And I played a few early access titles:

Baldr's Squid Isekai - a porn game and I haven't even seen a titty yet! I haven't played this much yet, but it seems like it will be short but sweet. Mostly a parody of RPGs, including tabletop and CRPGs, I think. It's made me laugh a few times during my brief stay with it. If you're curious, bug Tyranicon about it. He answers all my dumb questions.

No Rest for the Wicked - isometric Dark Souls, complete with weighty movements and actions, gore, combat you have to commit to, hidden treasures, etc. and fantastic presentation/art. This is probably going to be great.

I'm nearing the end of Halo 2 and... holy shit is this game banal-shit-boring. I can't shake the impression that the only good thing about it is the bomb riding cutscene at the end of mission 1. Everything else is just a total nosedive from Combat Evolved.

Halo 2 is so freaking bad that it actually legit upsets me. It really feels like there's not a single thing it does right.

- The entire sense of mystique that was at the core of Combat Evolved is gone and replaced by DEEP LORE. It feels a LOT like Phantom Menace and midichlorians, with hardly a single thing left to the player's imagination.
- Similarly, a lot of the rule of cool is gone. I get to crashland on 27th century Earth to protect it from an alium invasion, and the best this game can do is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with plasma guns????????
- Grenades were nerfed to uselessness. All the OG guns are near-worthless except for the needler and the charged plasma pistol shot. The only guns that are actually useful (like the covenant carbine) feel like peashooters.
- FLYING FUCKING ENEMIES GALORE THAT ARE NOT JUST FLYING BUT ALSO FAST, SHOOTING AND HARD TO HIT.
- Way too many pointless vehicle sections that serve no purpose whatsoever except for padding the length of the levels.
- It's ridiculous that you get to play as an alien and DO NOT end up fighting humans.
- I swear half of the levels, if not even more, are just straight up copypasted. You do nothing but move through identical corridors ALL THE FUCKING TIME.
- Furthermore, Halo 2 doesn't have level design. It's not that it's bad level design - it just doesn't fucking exist. It's nothing but corridors from start to finish, there's nothing even remotely close not only to the Silent Cartographer, which was probably the major highlight of CE, but also to shit like looking for Halo's control center.
- The campaign generally makes very little sense and feels haphazardly slapped together with no effort whatsoever. Why am I even facing the flood again? Why is the flood not only on that new halo, but also on some random ruined station occupied by covenant heretics? The covenant can just go ahead and start boarding the soopa space stations around Earth like it's nothing? Heretic boss first goes 'zomg listen to reason' and within seconds turns to 'DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA I KILL U'. Also suddenly flood overmind, and not just that, but the flood overmind can also teleport me onboard the covenant flagship like it ain't nothing. WTF is even going on.
- I thought nothing could be worse than the Library in CE, but then Halo 2 decided to up the ante with its very own Library that was a hundred times worse, and which I just sprinted through while avoiding all enemies because it was teeth-gratingly awful from start to finish.
- There's also something very wrong about the visual feedback when it comes to shooting. I don't know if this is something the anniversary edition broke, but I frequently can't tell if elites' force fields are actually down or not, whether the shit I shoot actually dies or goes into some kind of wobbly seizure while reloading or throwing grenades, or what. Also that Library level gets bonus points for being dark as the devil's asshole for the most part, while the stupid Arbiter doesn't even have a fucking flashlight.
- AND THIS ISN'T EVEN EVERYTHING I DISLIKE ABOUT HALO 2, AND I'M ALSO STILL NOT DONE WITH IT BUT I'M WAY TOO FAR IN AT THIS POINT TO JUST FUCKING QUIT

[...] Unexplored (1).
[...]

Had a half-assed attempt at a Mithril/"Moryondor" run as well in between. Quite thematic.

I'm kinda hyped for the Dark Ritual DLC runs which I never tried one of, though.
[...]
Dark Ritual is odd, way too hard to do it the intended(? most likely it is) way, way easier to rush it and brute force it which can make it pretty trivial and absolutely short.
So, a bit disappointed there, but it is/was a free extra DLC/ spin on the game so of course welcome.

Also tried the Ripley Run and that will take a while and dedication. That is it is hard and cannot be cheesed.
The repeater crossbow and creeps with their damn corroding blood (and some with good hiding or partial invis ability, where the ring of detect life as motion tracker comes in handy) really make this thematic as well (Aliens).

However I am now digging my teeth into Star Dynasties again.
Just a superb game!
You gotta think there about making good decisions pretty much constantly so it is engaging and interesting.
Entertaining and enjoyable, but due to the aforementioned also a bit fatiguing/ taxing.

Started Caves of Lore. Beautiful, charming, lovely art, nice atmosphere, and a UI so clunky (not badly designed, only clunky) it is quite amazing. Makes you equally curious and terrified to click anywhere. The tutorial is a masterclass in being useless ("click randomize to randomize stats"). Makes me wonder whether the game has been properly beta-tested, but apart from interacting with the UI all is fine and it is very pleasant.

Playing some Bioshock 2. It's a very solid story-driven FPS. It's actually difficult on hard and you keep that resource list in the back of your head at all times. New tools are given at a steady pace. Probably the highest concentration of audio logs in any game though, but I don't terribly mind.

My main complaints are all technical. There are mods to fix the audio balancing/quality issues, but the game is extremely prone to crashing. I tried some of the fixes but had no luck, until DXVK. Which is still far from perfect as it simply reduces the number of crashes (also, don't alt tab) but introduces shader stutter. It's a real shame what kind of state they left the game in. Made sure to update it to integrate a launcher though.

Bioshock 2 is my favorite in the series, enjoy it!

At this moment about 20 hours into Monster Hunter: World Iceborne expansion. I have to admit my enjoyment has decreased, because most of the time I keep fighting monsters that are reskins of ones I have already fought. Instead monster doing lightning damage, now its poisonous and everytime it hits you, you need to use antidote. Not very fun. I also started to question some of those little creatures around maps, what are their purpose other than being annoying, getting you into combat, interrupting using items, I am not so sure. I am still having fun, but now I don't think I will go straight into Monster Hunter: Rise after finishing Iceborne, no matter how more streamlined it is. I have mostly played alone, cos few of my buddies who haven't played this million hours didn't want to play, but I have helped randoms alot with SOS flares, its pretty cool. Duoing this game would be super nice.

A lot of people say that clutch claw broke the game. What say you?

I don't abuse it. If monster keeps staying up in the air, I use it just to get on top and damage abit, but if monster doesn't constantly fly I barely use it.
