Idiocracy
Why would I want a model of a blood sausage?????
I don't understand this either. It'd just make me hungry if it sat next to my computer staring at me. I fucking love black pudding.

"But an invisible laser grid protocol had been enabled when the deck was sealed off. As he poked his head into the opening, the security grid immediately exploded his head like a blood sausage. Blessed peace came quickly and silently."

I'm in. Seriously. We'll need to think of a way to coordinate this, though.

Maybe there is some way to identify us when we make the donation.
Why don't we create a separate thread here to gather people? We could point out the idea to Fargo, to see if he agrees, maybe through twitter. Then, through the donation page(if there is such an option) or through the Wasteland 2 support e-mail, we could each send a message to link our payment with the codex.

One thing is that Kickstarter does not take Paypal transfers, so I don't know whether I'll be able to contribute (isn't it Amazon US only or something?). But the Codex does accept Paypal!

100 Codexers, $50 each, statue of :rpgcodex:

get to it

Let's create a kickstarter for this :smug:

No, seriously. The 5000$ thing comes with 30 digital copies of the game, so those could be drawn and given to those who chip in.
I dunno. We'd have to do the draw before the Kickstarter ends so that those who don't win a copy can pay an additional $15 directly to get the game. But even that kind of sucks as it'll mean 70/100 Codexers would have to pay $65 for the most basic reward. So fuck that idea. It sucks.

Well, there is a way to do it: if 100 codexers each pay $60.50 then there will be enough keys for all plus a statue of the RPGCodex Troll. (70 x 15$ tier + 1x 5000$ tier)

I'm not in the US and I had no problems donating to the DF Kickstarter...

Amazon is global too.

It still doesn't take Paypal though. Setting up a Codex fund would be a good idea, then people without CreditCard ability will also be able to donate. (In case one didn't know, you can transfer money from a bank account straight to PayPal). Someone from staff should take note. I for one would be happy to use it instead of using a credit card.

is ©Chris Avellone, you'd have to run it through him too. He should be cool with it though, he usually is.

It is? Like, he made it? I knew MCA posted here from time to time -- or at least, used to -- but I had no clue he made the little angry RPG Codex dude. How'd that happen?

It think it's from little comics he does on his blog. But I can't find it so maybe he doesn't do it anymore?

Yep, 30 something people, at that rate they'll easily clear 500 bucks.

I will donate to this if the money goes towards getting an RPGCodex statue put into the game.

Yeah I'm worried about the # of people who will actually pledge, but I will throw down hell I'll even do a separate Codex donation to get that statue.

Gonna need much more than 68 pledges, though.

Thanks to everyone that contributed in the last rewards post. We got some great feedback and made some adjustments to the rewards. A few of the highlights are :

DRM Free!
The skill and weapon for supporters will not affect the game balance but will absolutely be entertaining
Added a Wasteland 2 poster to a 'light' level
Added a digital concept art book
Did a solid pass on clarification of reward levels
We are excited to kick this off and will need your help to spread the word!

Thanks all,
Chris

I don't understand that bullshit about "not affecting the game balance". What does it even mean? All it really tells me is that the bonus skill won't be overpowered compared to the others, but it still means you'll have one less option if you purchase the game at release. I mean, taking the sneak skill out of Fallout wouldn't affect the game balance, but you'd lose an option.

It is so fucking great that they are really listening and making changes based on actual feedback, that alone makes it worth supporting
