Kickstarter data is imported and the Center is now open for inputting addresses. Backers who have physical copies the Numenera Player's Guide or Corebook in their tiers should input their shipping address ASAP. It's not yet ready for inputting add-ons/upgrades.

But, how d fuck do the rest of you in studio imagine you would do justice to... this.
Gonna have to get real creative with this level in particular, yeah. Really non-traditional architecture, especially for a top-down game.

Real creative?

...

My, my.. oh no. This... this requires the masterpiece and highest reaches of craft from every single artists, modeler, programmer and designer working on it.
I mean... this is a kind of stuff that makes Andree Wallin bite his fingernails. man.

Chang Yuan's artwork has been ... something else entirely so far

Brian does have an eye for concept artists.

None.

Is Chang Yuan doing anything for Torment except concept art? Something in game like the paint overs in the 2D backrounds, or you have other people for that job?

Paintovers will be done by in-house guys. Chang Yuan works by commission as far as I know. He does have portrait art in the game (Wasteland 2), like this. In fact, a ton of the portrait art we've shown so far as his, I think. Wrecking crew, supafly and the dog are all his, though don't quote me on that, I'm not entirely sure.

You do realize that, with current tech... those mountains of bright and yellowish smoke and flame flowing upwards in half background, could be fully animated. And air shimmering in pulsating drifting heat and subtle shadows and whatnot.
Lava could actually flow, both brighter and darker pools or streams and rivers alike. Smoke could very well ... churn. Around.

Make it so.

yeah whatever...

lets get back to important things:

The erupting volcanoes and surging lava fill the air with acrid smoke and choking fumes.

The bones of an enormous beast lie sprawled across the obsidian fields, its ribs splayed open as if it had been torn open by some unimaginable predator. The ossified bones have been hollowed out as homes by some intrepid or foolish citizens, and the wind howls through the openings in a mournful whistle like a giant flute. In the wastes beyond, creatures of flame and focused minds trawl the lava and skim its valuable nutrients.

- i already suggested Ruins of Ossiphagan as one of the places to set up one of the possible player abodes (not necessarily permanent at all) or "bases".
(also! the lava and all that jazz should have influence on gameplay as part of the environment, in combat and quests)

But... this place needs to ooze the pure awesomnium alloys, regardless of that. Awesomnium should flow under and through it like molten bright magma itself.
- nothing less will do.

- edit-

to be sure - when i talk about animated sections - i mean something still illustrated like the art we see, not some "Hollywood special realistic effects" crap. I mean artistic, maybe even somewhat surreal impressionistic rendition, or part of the whole.

So he's the guy to blame when you hear "we wanted to do this cool shit but we were told it wasn't feasible".

Almost everyone sporting apple hardware, while Ziets goes "hipster posers... look at my all-stars with white socks and sketchbook".
he's probably telling McComb something life-altering, hence McComb's thoughtful expression.
