Done by:

Code:
   1. player = game.game:GetActivePlayer()
   2. for i = 0, 1000 do player.InventoryAddItem(i) end

And this is from the demo. You basically can't do anything besides the missions in this game. It really sucks to see so many features cut, maybe the modders can fix the game up.

I would keep playing this (castrated, popamole) game if I hadn't been stuck in the prison mission where you have to counterpunch. I'm sure it's a bug since I press the mouse button at the exact time that the on-screen pointer tells me to.

You also used to be able to stuff bodies in your trunk, and if you got pulled over had to play it cool or the cop would start poking around the car.

Well you have to do that after the Hotel mission were you to drag a body to the truck.

Not they poke around it spawns several police cars around the place and you get a car wanted level the moment you start the engine.

Do you release Dodge button when trying to counterpunch?

I think the prison part is the best.
It reminds me of many prison movies.

Probably the best recreation of the 40s and 50s I've ever seen.

Good mechanics, easy learning curve, great soundtrack.

So what do they do? Make a completely dead, soulless game devoid of anything to do outside of the linear main plot. In said main plot you are often watching cutscenes too.

As a Mafia I lover I was also amped for this game and let down massively. You could tell a lot was cut out (to be sold as DLC, ffs they have no morals these companies), such as there being an option to open the car trunk yet nothing to do with it.

The closest things to "sidequests" are stealing cars and selling them, robbing stores, and collecting porno or wanted signs.

4 hours of extra side content and I would have been quite happy.

Story was alright but again not close to Mafia I. Joe was a cool sidekick and the game does have one of the best, most graphic death scenes I've ever seen. Also one or two cool levels, such as the stealth level where you have to break in and open a safe, the WW2 level to start the game (surprised me - the start was the best in many ways, with that and the atmospheric walk through the snowy city home), and the cool prison chapter. Oh, and the Mafia I easter egg level was unexpected and cool, just wish there were more quests to "whack" people in different environments/challenges.

But overall, what a letdown. I'm sure after they extort $100 from us for DLC that was supposed to be in the goddamn game, it may feel close to complete and very good.

Which is bad because most of the beginning of that part is almost exactly the same as Shawshank Redemption, and the courtyard is filled with clones (for example, there is only one chinese face in the whole game, and it is a soulless hulk with completely black eyes) of several cultural archetypes.

Just finished it. The best popamole shooter EVAH! Yeah, yeah Seolas nailed all the main faults and all the good bits (atmosphere, stealth mission, WW2 level etc.) but the thing for me was that even with all the shit I still enjoyed the ride. The main thing probably was the easy learning curve. I have shit reflexes and most games like this are frustrating as fuck, but here it was smooth and enjoyable for me.

City is great but nothing to do apart from the main 10 hour(about 2/3 of that in cutscenes and driving to places) campaign. I see they are releasing a 30 mission DLC (a lot just shoot everything for points type of shit though) in a few days. This should have been released with the game! I'm glad I pirated it first as fuck that!

The WW2 mission wet my appetite with facing properly armed and uniformed Italian troops and I'm PRAYING that they use this engine for a new Hidden and Dangerous! Engine is fantastic and runs smooth on an ancient machine(4 year old) with all details max (physics off as have ATI card). Though of course if they make it a cover shooter they can just fuck off.

Hell, the Prologue was originally much larger, instead of a five minute diversion;

00_70_00_0106:Death Squad

00_70_00_0108:The Old Country

So all they kept is 'the old country'. I'm fucking flabbergasted.

I have a hunch that this extra content will soon appear in the form of DLC. Now I wouldn't be so bold as to accuse them of stripping down the game in order to sell the rest in chunks, but...oh wait, that is what I'm saying.

Ive been reading a lot about this game on various forums lately and people discover more and more unused/left over stuff in the game. It's so dissapointing to see so much awesome features dumped. After you finish the game one of the funniest things to do in the city is pushing black fishermen in the docks into the water. :retarded:

Here's a thread summarizing shit cut from Mafia 2. Throughout the whole thread people have found numerous evidence of various shit, including missions and side missions being cut from the game. Especially the prologue missions during the war. I bet they will be released as a DLC since it's awesome DLC material.

My opinion is that Mafia 2 should never have been made for consoles, as simple as that. Multi-platform games always gets dumbed down and features are cut to handle the low spec consoles (compared to pc).

finally, people are waking up and smelling the turd that is multi-platfrom.

Game really wasn't that hot. The ending is a real kicker though. Man, wow.

I felt the ending was sudden and out of place. When the game finished, I thought I was still in the middle of the game.

The story is generic gangster story and the characters were not so memorable, compared to the first game. In the first game, you spent more time with all the characters so you could relate to them in a way or another. In this one, there's just joe barbaro and some other guys with grease on their hair.

I aways felt that Vito were completely apart from the events of the game, whereas in mafia one, Tommy was in the middle of everything, and events followed a more tight storyline.

I must say i didn't feel the lack of side missions something bad, since the first one played just the same. In the first, you were just going from checkpoit to checkpoint. No free roaming during main gameplay.

They now announced a new DLC called Joes Adventures. In the dlc you will do normal story missions unlike in Jimmys Vendetta. Whats funny, those missions were probably meant for Vito but instead, he was placed in jail for longer than at first he was supposed to be and now they gonna change player model from Vito to Joe and let you play them since they prolly dont require much changing. Next on the dlc spot: cut prologue missions. Thats more than 100% sure.

A video showing how joes apartament changes through time. In the final game we can only see 2 out of 3 versions. I'm pretty sure we'll see the middle appartament in the upcoming dlc. Just another proof how they cut shit from the game.
