Welcome. As far as I know, the expansion pack is just called "Expansion Pack." It adds some minor features to a fairly in-depth game about business and intrigue in the early Renaissance.
My experience with this game is limited. I may not do so hot. But I will try.
Gentlemen, we will represent an old Latin dynasty that opposes the established Catholic Church. What's even better is our Illuminati coat of arms. We will be the invisible hand of Milan, divulging in the politics of blackmail, and the trade of blood and gold.
We get to chose our parents' professions, whom are thieves, which gives obvious bonuses to stealth. Our starting occupation is only natural.

Milan, Spring, 1400.
It's a crispy night. Let's see what the order of business is.
The passageway leading to the wonderfully named smuggler's hideout, "Town Guard's Friend."
Rudolph, you're on patrol this morning.
*nods*
Sir Magnus, the city registrar has you listed as Magnus Magnus.
Le fuck?
I'm afraid nothing can be done about it, either.
--
I'm going to get a heavy purse today.
YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE!
--
Steward, pay the moneylenders a visit. I want to hire more men this season.
Good. Use the leftover cash to order improvements to the hold. Later, actually. Let's take a walk through the center of town.
What can change the nature of a ..... pretty... wench?
Sir, I...
Who was that?
That was Lady Aileward, the customs master.
Customs, you say? Send her a damn letter, she's wealthy as a Venetian merchant.
--
A wonderful remove from inventory.
THIS IS MADNESS. WHERE IS MY PURSE? CALL THE... NO. THIS IS WITCHCRAFT.
--
Magnus, I've been trying to contact you for a while now. You need to improve your standing in Milan. You are falling behind some of the more prominent dynasties.
Can you ask the Illuminati for favor?
Yes, but no guarantees. Give it a season or so.

Winter sets in. The smuggler's den has been upgraded with a bed and campfire.
The office is even more cozy.
Letters for you, sir.
