Codex 2012 Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Screw cloning, I want a chance at dying a dog's death too. For mankind.

Almost everyone who posted early on for names who didn't get in was a matter of classes. It's hard for me to fit 4 snipers on one squad (and by hard I mean NOPE!), so sorry about that. If you don't care about class, I will get you in there for the Battleship mission or whatever we have coming up after the next update (which is already pre-screenshotted and all).
Well, I think I could live with being any other class. Make with the body bag, good sir!

Do I get a chance? Do I get a chainsword? What do you mean tehre are no chainswords?! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAIM XENOS WITHOUT A BLOODY CHAINSWOOOORDDDD!!!!

Honestly X-COM could use a vibroblade, you know if you don't want to or need to capture live aliens.

Shotguns are basically the chainswods of XCOM. They even have attacks of opportunity!

Edit: Yes, CHAINSWODS. Not a typo, a statement of style.

BEE! NOOOOOOOO! ;_;

I guess she was tired of life, or she would've fired her giant rokkit at the 3 mutons right next to her, instead of going for a tricky cross-map snipe.

Also, Y U GIEV ME DOUBLETAP!? I wanted Archangel + ITZ. Who cares if Doubletap comes into play more often. ITZ allows for Awesome™

We didn't get vibrodrills/thermic lances until TFTD in the prestigious predecessors either. Shame, because I'd totally pay to see you go toe to toe with a chrysalid armed only with a pointy stick.

Hey, guess what? Rockets have the same chance to miss at 1 yard away as at max range. :smug:

So, yeah. Double Tap. Obviously the better ability. I will admit I was tempted by In The Zone, though, since I've never done the "Complete a UFO mission with one character" achievement before, and that ability seems tailor made for that. Oh well.

I'm planning on sending all rookies (well squaddies, officer school perk makes all of our new recruits get 1 promotion automatically) to the Battleship mission now, so that should be a good update.

In the Zone is great, once my sniper on his jetpack killed 3 fucking insects and 2 zombies on one turn, since they are melee enemies that don't use cover and give the In the Zone bonuses when killed.

Was glorious. :salute:

In The Zone doesn't let you bring the pain to Muton Elites & Sectopods like Double Tap, though! I'll admit it looks really trolly for making your own cinematics.

Heavys are the Sectopod's destroyers and assaults take care of the Mutons Elite. Sniper with "In the Zone" are great for keeping the field clean of lesser foes.

Sorry to see my avatar got pwned running across the map. Feel free to resurrect if you need more meatshields, but it looks like you've got plenty.

This game looks pretty good. It shouldn't be forgotten that the original X-Com also had balance trouble: if you win the first terror mission, you can basically win the game from the strategic map with a suitable network of decoders and plasma-beam interceptors.

No, there are only two noteworthly classes in X-Com. Those who kill things, and those who aren't snipers.

I'm enjoying the new xcom a lot, I just wish impossible's mechanics made flanking possible instead of deathbait

Yeah, I've mentioned this before, complaining about the balance in new XCOM is a little silly when comparing it to 1, in many ways its actually more balanced, and more balanced than I would have ever expected of a class system. What #1 had over the new one is just a sheer diversity of things to do and handle, the depth and inane attention to detail that modern designers lambaste in favor of simplicity and distilling things down. I happen to think lots of little irritating details can make a game better, even if individually they don't seem that important (ammo micro-management, for example).

I didn't watch the video, but it seems that on the very cusp of glorious victory, I fell to the dark side and engineered collective mutilation?

I lived long enough to become a hardened veteran, then died ingloriously.

It wasn't even a good death, I was sinking in the mud trying to hold my guts in when a muton came up and stomped my face in.

It was the true X-Com experience.

BTW, I'm volunteering just like I did for TFTD. LusciousPear, at your service. Any class'll do.

Dude when do I come in!??

I have been anxiously reading your LP and awaiting my entry. I doubt I will live too long now considering how ahead we are in the campaign :(.

Man, fuck this new XCOM. There's just not enough soldiers being put at risk in any given mission to really work my way through the backlog. Anyway, all the screenshots have already been taken and are just waiting for me to finish up the LP so unfortunately you didn't make it in (along with one or two others). That said, I have some ideas for stuff to LP after this, so hopefully we'll work you into the next LP, if people want me to do more.

Sign me up chief! and I want more lp; and as far as I'm concerned I'm the only one who matters :smug:
