I would like to see more reports from the European Front, no matter how bogged down it is, this is where the fate of the war is decided.

One more update following the highly detailed exposition of all battles, even those that are bogged down and going back and forth, then, according to the opinions posted along comments, it may change and the screenshots will cover only the more dynamic front lines. A change will mean that things will progress faster through updates.

Eternal War

Another movie music

lphoi2foraquitaine026.jpg

The offensive against the tripods in North Africa begins successfully, as an entire division is obliterated by the rains of artillery and anti-tank guns coupled with the might of the Baneblades.

lphoi2foraquitaine027.jpg

The offensive on Argentan however turns out as a catastrophe. Over-burdened with so many fronts, the order to cancel the offensive before all attackers were completely drained of organization were missed, and this is not good.

lphoi2foraquitaine028.jpg

for_cadia_by_zaku0909.jpg

494x_m1a1-abrams-laser.jpg

The major offensive against the tanks defending Auch reach its most intense moments as nearly a million men fought to drive back the tanks and they charged their lasers. Those lasers wiped out anything on their path, but unable to deliver indirect fire, the tanks were satured with artillery as the Polish Expeditionary Forces led the offensive towards the city. By pinning down the tanks behind a hill, the UDMS-KKK forces succeed at surrounding the defenders of Auch, and a final push into victory begins.

lphoi2foraquitaine029.jpg

The complete liberation of Aquitaine is very close now, as victory ensues in Auch after a long battle. The enemy tanks are forced to retreat, and many consider the possibility of making a push towards Cholet to merge their front with the Normandy front. The long battle also turns the Brazilian Field Marshall Gaspar Dutra, who led the entire offensive, into a specialist of forest warfare.

lphoi2foraquitaine030.jpg

A counter-attack however happens as soon as the soldiers of the UDMS-KKK reach Auch. The enemy is better prepared for this, and thus, a flanking attack is immediately ordered to stop it and support these brave men defending Aquitaine.

lphoi2foraquitaine031.jpg

The counter-offensive might achieve more however: it might push the enemy even further by securing Bergerac. Immediately the forces at Auch join it as soon as the enemy is forced to retreat to defend their territory. But unfortunately reinforcements arrive and force this offensive to be cancelled.

lphoi2foraquitaine032.jpg

Saint-Etienne has exchanged hands over six times now. A new offensive, commanded by Prime Minister Sosnkowski himself, begins to retake it once again and hopefully secure it permanently. The battle is once again tough in spite of the numerical superiority because of the presence of tripods.

lphoi2foraquitaine033.jpg

26414_md-2nd%20Edition,%20Armored%20Company,%20Artwork,%20Baneblade,%20Copyright%20Games%20Workshop.jpg

Meanwhile the enemy attempts another offensive against Auch, using a large amount of tanks and slightly outnumbering the defenders. The presence of the Baneblades proves itself as a major aid to the defense of Auch against such a powerful armored spearhead.

lphoi2foraquitaine034.jpg

As the war carried on, with battles being fought every day, technology advanced further and now the atomic project was going through its next phase of research already. The creation of a weapon capable of eliminating the massive numerical and technological superiority of the aliens might be possible, but a question remained: considering the fact mushroom clouds announced five years ago the complete destruction of the entire cities of Leningrad and Frunze, thus meaning the aliens already had access to such weapons of mass destruction, would using them unleash a retaliation capable of bringing Rearmageddon to all Kwanzanias, if not the destruction of the entire world?

lphoi2foraquitaine035.jpg

The offensive on Saint-Etienne succeeds, while the enemy foolish wastes lone divisions attacking Auch. Things are not as bleak as it seemed once, for although always shifting, the UDMS-KKK was not actually winning the war in Europe, but neither it could be said they were losing it.

lphoi2foraquitaine036.jpg

In North Africa, two tripods were now wiped out. The Battle of Tobruk is finally over, and the Suez Channel draws closer and closer. Perhaps, perhaps they might dare to open a new front in Europe by crossing the Bosphorus, one that might allow them to race straight for Warsaw. Every tripod division eliminated is lost forever by the enemy.

lphoi2foraquitaine037.jpg

Bad news come from Saint-Etienne. Although numberful on their own, the defenders weren't expecting such a legion of doom as more than a million of alien hordes assaulted them.

Beware of the Djinn!

lphoi2foraquitaine038.jpg

While they retreated from Saint-Etienne, already occupied by the enemy forces, a second attempt to break through Bergerac began. At first it looked like something that might succeed.

lphoi2foraquitaine039.jpg

The enemy suffered heavy losses to defend it, at least. But it was clear that in spite of the successful encirclement of such massive legion, the chances of victory were null. Thus the offensive would have to be halted. Meanwhile, things were looking bad on Nimes too.

lphoi2foraquitaine040.jpg

The enemy legions pushed back the advances of the UDMS-KKK through the east, and now Perpignan was once again a point of battle. Things began to look not so hopeful, and they were too numberful to be driven back. At least Aquitaine was secured, but if the enemy managed to breach through Perpignan, things would end bad... really bad.

lphoi2foraquitaine041.jpg

Leman_Russ_by_Creator3000.jpg

The diversionary attack force in Archangelsk is finally fully organized and ready to begin their advance through the lifeless wastelands of a nation once known as the Soviet Union. The city of Archangelsk was like a post-apocalyptic ghost town, devoid of life, it was like the perfect place to LARP S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

However, they were suddenly halted by the appearance of a lone tripod division. Instead of stopping their advance they pushed on against the tripod, and succeeded as the death machines retreated.

lphoi2foraquitaine042.jpg

The Ultimate DOOM Expansion Set for Kwanzanian Navy is finally over as the last surface warships make their last stand and hit the bottom of the English Channel. ITZ over now, as these old and obsolete vessels perform their final duty. And to make matters worse doomfleets also sink several submarines in the Mediterranean. Seizing Suez is the best way to stop this.

lphoi2foraquitaine043.jpg

Two new tripod divisions arrive in North Africa. In spite of the Baneblades, the armored divisions are not in a favorable situation to win against such an attack. However, it is possible to also encircle and crush these tripods with the available forces in North Africa. Meanwhile, to hopefully reach Cholet, several forces from Tolouse were relocated to Auch while several forces from Auch moved to Bordeaux to support a new offensive.

lphoi2foraquitaine044.jpg

The enemy exploited such moves to attempt breaking through Tolouse. Things were starting to resemble the Year of ITZ again, as 32 divisions were apparently insufficient to hold their ground in this battle. Hopefully La Rochelle could be won to compensate for even another loss of territory.

lphoi2foraquitaine045.jpg

The inability to be sure of how many enemy divisions each are has leads to what was hoped to be a simple offensive a complete mess. La Rochelle was too heavily defended, and thus, in the end, Tolouse would be lost for nothing.

lphoi2foraquitaine046.jpg

Retaking Tolouse would be useful because of its air bases, but not necessarily possible. Pau was a much better defense position, but Tolouse also presented a threat to Auch should it be occupied. Things went wrong here, and the enemy was pushing strongly.

lphoi2foraquitaine048.jpg

And thus, as September of 1946 has begun, things weren't looking brightly in Europe. Normandy saw the loss of Caen and Cherbourg. All of the advances towards Southeast France were lost, and in spite of the liberation of Aquitaine, the enemy gained a lot of ground and have shown their full might in both front lines. The only good news were that in North Africa, more tripod divisions were wiped out and the AfrikaKKKorps were very close to reach the Suez Channel and block the Mediterranean from alien fleets, turning it into a safe haven for what is left of the UDMS-KKK Navy that wasn't wiped out already.

lphoi2foraquitaine049.jpg

In Eastern Europe, a much smaller enemy force was losing. Soon more ground would be gained in this diversionary offensive, but this time they would not repeat the same mistakes in Scandinavia by stretching their lines too thin.

lphoi2foraquitaine047.jpg

Ultimately however, things seemed very, very bad unless the reports were inflated about the enemy numbers getting close to 18 million soldiers. Because if this was really how many forces they had, victory would be something just one inch away from impossible. Even as more divisions would eventually be fielded next year, it was unclear how many men would really be required to be able to push such a mighty and numberful foe.

Well, it might have been a better idea to wait a few years before invading Europe and Africa. Are you building fortifications in Europe? I think that your only hope for retaining your gains for now is to entrench your positions. Also, blocking their advance in few narrow chokepoints might be possible, because of the stacking penalty which handicaps attackers more than defenders.

Shit got tough in North Africa, trying anything in Normandy always breaks the lines and makes the enemy win and destroy the 12x divisions there. The game is fucking slow, I'll have to keep it running for the equivalent of 24 hours to get to the point where enough divisions are built to open new fronts in Italy and Asia, and even then victory seems unlikely.

If the slowdown could be fixed I would be far more interested in updating this thread oftenly. Unfortunately it can't be fixed and I can't install HoI2 on a supercomputer where it wouldn't matter because I don't have one.

But I didn't give up.

PS: Yes, when things get way too badly sometimes I'll reload the game and try again. I never claimed this was an ironman.

PARADOX !!! :x

No matter how graphically non-intensive their games are, they never fail at using all your computer resources after some time!

Too bad it is lagging so much. I imagine you must be sitting for hours just to have the playthrough for one episode done.

You probably tried it, but perhaps a save file could be edited, and all unnecessary things could be deleted there? But it might be risky either, backup is necessary.

Well said Hellraiser.

But maybe there is a game with a better engine worthy of the lulz brother Cassidy can provide us ? Or is this heresy to suggest.

Or maybe the reason for these slowdowns is so incredibly inane one would facepalm upon realizing it.

I never gave much a thought about it, but do you know those things that appear down the screen like "x was bombed for 0.2 IC in damage"? All those messages are stored in the save game, and believe it or not, after I cleared 10 "years" of game events history, the game is now running smoothly again.

Update coming soon.

I could post this before it instead of double-posting but I want to bump this thread.

Battle of Perpignan and the First Steps for Asian D-Day.

lphoi2botoulouse001.jpg

wotwtripod1.jpg

The situation in Southern France worsened a lot, and now, the freshly restored Republican Spain may yet be again threatened by the xeno. Between Spain and the aliens lie only exhausted Finnish soldiers with obsolete equipment. Their resistance, however, would become legendary.

lphoi2botoulouse002.jpg

The UDMS-KKK is close to the achievement of total air superiority in France. The fighters that once were on the defensive in Britain were slowly being sent to air bases in Brittany and Aquitaine to ensure that, although they may not yet rule the lands, Freedom and Democracy shall rule the skies, and were it not for the deadly anti-air capabilities of the tripods, this would have been a far greater achievement than it currently looks like.

lphoi2botoulouse003.jpg

lphoi2botoulouse004.jpg

The front lines in North Africa are unfortunately on a very strong trend towards stagnation like in Europe. Far more tripods than expected have arrived, but again, otherwise they would be giving even more trouble in the European front. The battle for Perpignan remained undecided. The only thing that could change it was the fact soon hundreds of thousands would arrive there by train. If the brave Finns hold out until then, victory shall ensue.

lphoi2botoulouse005.jpg

Mannerheim begins to conduct complex actions with the hopes of buying enough time and ensuring the brave Finns will have enough sisu to hold out for yet another entire day against three Tripod divisions, and thus the soldiers retreat to better defensive positions. The only good thing is that the enemy forces are also understrength, which means that the UDMS-KKK is winning in the war of attrition Europe has become.

lphoi2botoulouse006.jpg

In Central Africa, a new attempt to break through and advance, while surrounding what might be a tripod division, begins.

lphoi2botoulouse007.jpg

While this battle seemed far from over, succeeding only at bringing more casualties against the tripods, finally the good news came. Thanks to the unyielding bravery of Finns, Perpignan was secured. And now, soon a new chance of retaking Toulouse would arrive. Unfortunately, as it became clear the lone Tripod was more than enough to hold the ground, this offensive failed, and on the wake of its failure.

lphoi2botoulouse008.jpg

mccaffreyovs6wotw.jpg

A counter-offensive immediately begins, while the 13 divisions do their best to hold the advance of the tripods. There, in the sands of the desert, there are few places to hide, and depleted of organization by their failed attack, they need to truly have a blessing now.

lphoi2botoulouse009.jpg

Even more frustrating is the realization the place they were going to encircle wasn't even guarded by a tripod. Thus their pointless attack was completely futile, even had it succeeded. Fortunately, although they may loss their ground in this place, more ground will also be won. Such is the nature of the war against aliens.

lphoi2botoulouse010.jpg

Unfortunately, in some cases things are stagnated for real. Xenu Renegades can't be driven back easily and thus this offensive was quickly cancelled.

lphoi2botoulouse011.jpg

Further advances in North Africa also had to be halted. Things are looking worse, but it can still be handled. Siwa may be lost, but the mass of forces that will regroup in Rabia will be able to push tripods, one by one.

lphoi2botoulouse012.jpg

The brave Canadian motorized infantry divisions, coupled with four Leman Russ armored divisions, advance boldly further through the post-apocalyptic depopulated Russia. Their string of victories may lead to something that will be a major mark in history, strategically futile or not: putting the flag of Poland in the Kremlin and doing something neither Napoleon nor Hitler in another time line have managed.

: x

lphoi2botoulouse013.jpg

While battles were managed and fought. The High Command of the UDMS-KKK, with the approval of the president, and not so-happy approval of the prime minister because of how according to the Wyrmlordian gospel of mises.org making gigantic armies will doom economies to failure before they could achieve victory, over 600 divisions shall be raised, eventually, for a future campaign with the goal of opening a new front in East Asia and pushing it until merging with the European Front.

However, the transport ships couldn't return right now, because were threatened by constant naval patrols of doomfleets in Europe, instead, another plan was set in motion.

lphoi2botoulouse014.jpg

The massive industrial might of the UDMS-KKK allowed for the rapid construction of near a hundred of transport flotillas, allowing for millions to be simultaneously shipped from one continent to another. And thus, no matter what happens in Europe, either in 1947 or 1948, the Asian D-Day shall begin.

Excellent news :salute:! I never thought that could be a reason for such a major slowdown. Paradox developers truly are the masters of consuming computer resources.

Are you confident that your forces in Europe will hold their ground without further reinforcement until D-day in Asia commences?

Yes, they have to and will. Chances are more reinforcements would be raped by fleets with 40 nuclear carriers anyway.

The Battle of Toulouse

lphoi2botoulouse015.jpg

In North Africa, a threatening attack, of the kind that could lead to the complete breakdown of the front lines if successful, begins against Rabia.

lphoi2botoulouse016.jpg

Baneblade_by_NightHawkGraphics.png

Immediately, the Leman Russ and Baneblade tanks at Solum launch a flanking offensive against the tripod in Sidi Barrani, to hopefully drive them out and push forward the front lines.

lphoi2botoulouse017.jpg

Thankfully, the battle turns out against the Tripods, which suffer heavy losses as the UDMS-KKK armored forces once again emerge triumphant in Africa.

lphoi2botoulouse018.jpg

And thus, thanks to their bravery and very big guns, the offensive against Rabia is broken, an entire tripod division is nearly wiped out and the front advances further.

lphoi2botoulouse019.jpg

Through Russian soil, the diversionary offensive is being far more successful than initially expected. They may actually even get to raise the Polish flag in the ruins of Moscow, at this rate.

lphoi2botoulouse020.jpg

The enemy attempted to retake Vytegra, but failed.

lphoi2botoulouse021.jpg

The first steps for the construction of a highly fortified line, allowing for new amphibious and airborne operaitons to proceed opening new fronts in the future without putting in jeopardy the few pieces of ground that were already secured, are completed. A long way lies ahead, and while the European Front has stagnated, the War of the Worlds hasn't ended in a cease-fire. Even now, plans are being made to secure the city of Tolouse for once an all.

lphoi2botoulouse022.jpg

620,000 soldiers shall march forward to the city of Toulouse, so that together, they hold the horde that is coming from many directions. If they succeed, a sheer mass of enemy forces will be heavily disorganized and under heavy casualties, and a new push through France may succeed.

If they fail, the front will be open for breaching through Spain.

lphoi2botoulouse023.jpg

Small, isolated enemy forces are immediately driven back while another of the long line of fortifications is concluded.

lphoi2botoulouse024.jpg

lphoi2botoulouse025.jpg

Vytegra however remains heavily disputed, and more tripods could arrive to attempt driving back its defenders.

lphoi2botoulouse026.jpg

Believing it will be possible to hold out in Russia, fortifications will also be built around. In a stroke of utter irony, why must the Polish flag rise first in Moscow than Warsaw?

lphoi2botoulouse027.jpg

wwii-poster-ally-canada-come-on-canada.jpg

Xenu Renegades and two tripod divisions launch another, far more dangerous offensive. The Leman Russ tanks fought bravely to hold out in this battle. As did the valorous Canadian motorized divisions, showing once again their tradition of bravery and legend.

And thus, victory was achieved. Although the Battle of Vytegra was glorious, it would not be the most famous battle in this September of 1946. Another battle, almost as massive as the battles fought in Central America, would enter in history as one of the greatest battles ever fought.

Battle of Toulouse

Optional trailer music

lphoi2botoulouse029.jpg

War_of_the_Worlds_Dawn_by_NikeDorchain.png

Through the devastated ruins of the city of Toulouse, they were stormed by a massive legion, and the odds of the battle were, at the beginning, completely against the defenders. Outnumbered and surrounded, they bravely held their ground the best they could against legions of zombie-like soldiers with far more advanced equipment, tanks with energy beam weapons and multiple Tripods. More than seven hundred thousand foes advanced towards the city.

lphoi2botoulouse030.jpg

26428_sm-2nd%20Edition,%20Artwork,%20Copyright%20Games%20Workshop,%20Imperial%20Guard,%20John%20Blanche,%20Leman%20Russ,%20Retro%20Review.jpg

Although part of the attackers were driven out after 8 hours of nonstop battle, the UDMS-KKK forces still were clearly losing this battle. The mass was just too much to halt, and they were on the point of mental and physical depletion from having to hold out against such horde. Were it not for the Leman Russ tanks, they would have already lost. However, having mastered the Infiltration Assault doctrines, the UDMS-KKK soldiers are specialists in night combat, and as the sun sets, the tide may yet be turned.

lphoi2botoulouse031.jpg

At 2:00 AM of 19th September, 1946, more than half of the attacking force was broken, but the situation was still dire. Just one mistake, one little tactical mistake, and they would lose Tolouse. Every doorstep a fortress, every window an artillery. The blood flowed through the streets.

lphoi2botoulouse032.jpg

Leman_Russ_Advance_by_StugMeister.jpg

As daylight returns, and in spite of even more retreats, the defenders of Toulouse continued to lose even more ground and end even closer to defeat, a counter-attack was ordered as the last hope to successfully defend the city. It was the last chance of turning this tide of this growingly hopeless battle.

lphoi2botoulouse033.jpg

The counter-offensive succeeded at routing multiple lines of enemy infantry and getting closer to the core of the problem: Leman Russ tanks now engaged in direct fire against the tripod war machines, in one moment that could decide the outcome of the entire battle, while other forces attempted to rout the rest of non-tripod forces. If they failed, all would have been in vain.

lphoi2botoulouse034.jpg

Nearly two days have passed since the battle of Toulouse began. Through the entire day and night of 19th September 1946, one of the most brave counter-attacks even performed would rout hundreds of thousands, and turn the tide of a battle that once seemed hopeless.

lphoi2botoulouse035.jpg

Eventually, only the tripods were left. The defenders have not only managed to turn the tide of this battle, but also, they have succeeded at annihilating an entire tripod division, which was a major strategic victory, not counting the fact this could be the chance to push the front lines of Western Europe forward, and maybe even merge Brittany with the main front, for most of the enemy front lines were completely disorganized now, and vulnerable to a counter-offensive.

lphoi2botoulouse036.jpg

But no matter what, the Battle of Toulouse would be forever remembered in history as one of the greatest battles ever fought. An example of determination, courage and the will to never, ever give up, even when everything pointed out defeat.

The long stagnation of the European front might change.

The rate of updates is truly astonishing :salute:. So it seems that the enemy is actually bleeding dry on the European front? It makes me wonder, which factor caused that breakdown. Is it manpower depletion, or the fact that reinforcement spending is capped for the AI at an insufficient rate? I remember that after a few years of war on the eastern front, German AI starts loosing badly because it cannot spend enough on reinforcing its divisions despite the fact that manpower reserves were not yet fully exhausted.

It would also seem that those Japanese military doctrines are really giving you the much needed edge. Long nights really can turn the tide of ongoing battle, especially on defensive.

And what's your plan for Russian front? You want to take Moscow, but can you really hold your ground with such a small force on such a large area?

Changing the sendRefererHeader setting in Firefox to 1 worked for me.

Now, with this trick explained, I'd like to mention that, in spite of it having reached an everlasting state of brutal attrition warfare against technologically advanced aliens that will take years to be overcame, this LP was never officially given up.

And thus here comes another update.

=================

False_Dimitry_entering_Moscow_June_20th_1605.jpg

Will the Polish Flag once again fly over the Kremlin?

Music

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate001.jpg

Although in the land, hordes of alien forces mostly stagnated the advance over Europe, in the air, the UDMS-KKK continues to reign supreme, obliterating several strategic bombers. The flying saucers crashed all over the ghost towns of France, while the towns and cities of Southern France and Brittany are gradually repopulated, for with the feeling they are safe, many who fled to Kwanzania are returning home, like what happened in Republican Spain.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate002.jpg

The diversionary offensive through the depths of Russia continues to have success. Many dream of the strategically futile but symbolic act of raising the flag of Poland over the ruins of the Kremlin, many dream of the torch of freedom and democracy emerging victorious from where one of the greatest powers of the world perished, victorious since the dire times when South America was the last hope of humanity, since the brutal attrition battles in Central America.

Many try to fathom the irony that it is more likely for the Polish flag to be lifted over Moscow first than Warsaw. But the war is far from over. Six years have passed since the aliens first landed on Earth, and against all odds, not only the entire American continent was retaken, but parts of Europe and almost half of Africa were liberated.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate003.jpg

Takedown_by_godwinfj.jpg

Toulouse is not stable yet. Another brutal offensive is launched by legions of undead soldiers armed with advanced firearms and equipment, far more technological tanks and the dreaded tripods. The soldiers make their stand in the city of Toulouse, to defend it at all costs. The situation is dire, and many fear this time the lines will be broken. They have barely rested from the last offensive they held against successfully. This is starting to remind a post-apocalyptic Passchendaele. A battle that may last for many months, except the odds were against humanity.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate004.jpg

The brutality of the offensive pushes the hundreds of thousands defending Toulouse further and further back. This may be the end. All those lives were lost for nothing. Toulouse may not be secured. But the Prime-Minister of the UDMS-KKK, the Leonidas of the Modern Age, Field Marshall Kazimierz Sosnkowski, leading the war effort while the president handled civilian affairs, has boldly planned a delaying action, and shortly after it a dangerous counter-attack. The counter-offensive leads thousands of soldiers to die in battle, but by using the advantage of the urban areas and of the camouflage of the tall grasslands, while heavily backed by Leman Russ and Baneblade tanks, they surprise many foes and most of the regular alien forces have their will to fight broken, as in the end only the once unstoppable tripods keep fighting.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate005.jpg

And thus, against all odds, Toulouse is once again successfully defended. The few civilian survivors that somehow were found alive as the city was liberated hailed their heroes and celebrated another great victory against the xenos.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate006.jpg

800px-Fort_Saint-Gobain_p1410059.jpg

Construction of the Britanny-Normandy Line progresses, as begin the construction of heavy fortifications in Southern France, for the chances of further territorial gain in West Europe are deemed incredibly small.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate007.jpg

The enemy does not wait. Barely recovered from the latest battle for Toulouse, her defenders once again are besieged, albeit by a relatively smaller legion, but nevertheless a dangerous one. There were good news if these continuous offensives were to be successfully held. At each of these massed assaults, dozens of thousands of xenos perished, and an entire tripod division was entirely wiped out. The xenos are running out of individuals to join their military. If they keep doing this, if the bravery of the defenders of Toulouse never waver, they will be accelerating their ultimate demise.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate008.jpg

Strategic naval bombing missions reduce the threat of enemy carriers considerably, averting a potential disaster as if unchecked, they could sink countless naval transports in the harbors of France. Several Tripod divisions are on the verge of destruction while once again, the Battle for Toulouse takes a positive turn for mankind.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate009.jpg

Two tripod divisions attempt to defend Tikhvin in the Russian diversionary front. The attackers know that they'll inflict heavy strength losses against such mighty enemy division if they succeed. Thus they carry on, hoping that their numbers and the support of Leman Russ will give them the necessary edge.

"Moskva!" shouted some soldiers after the dreaded and exhausting battle, while the Tripods were seen retreating. The dream is getting closer.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate010.jpg

Alien infantry in power armor forces the lone mountaineer division to fall back to Cherepovets. Obviously they aren't man enough like the Air Marines to pull Space Marine grade victories without having power armor.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate011.jpg

Toulouse is once again besieged. The battle as a whole may become the French Stalingrad. But the defenders will not waver. The people of the UDMS-KKK have made too many sacrifices and gone too far for everything to crumble now. The aliens shall not take Toulouse again!

With bravery, the defenders try to break the capabilities of all forces besides the tripods.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate012.jpg

A lone tripod division tries to break through Cherepovets and destroy the dream of the Polish flag over the Kremlin. But it is faced with determined, great soldiers. Men of courage, who hold their ground in those forests, who will not fall easily.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate013.jpg

The Battle of Toulouse nears victory while Cherepovets is successfully defended. The enemy failure to advance may lead to a new phase in this conflict. For the first time, humanity seems to be gaining the upper hand in spite of their forces being far outnumbered by the xenos.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate014.jpg

News from Central Africa. The offensive is renewed, to push the enemy further east, while freshly liberated territories are secured. The attack against Bangui faces the challenge of defeating a tripod division. But the AfrikaKKKorps, which wiped out all enemy forces in Morocco, which paved the way for the liberation of Spain and Southern France, they are used to challenges, to the toughest, harshest battles a man has ever participated of.

But what about the dream, the symbollic gesture of the flag of Poland waving in Moscow?

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate015.jpg

Upon this battle depended the dream.

The odds weren't favorable, but unless certain they wouldn't stand any chance, they shall never retreat. Three tripod divisions signaled what could be one of the most legendary victories UDMS-KKK ever had, or the end of the whole divesionary offensive in Russia.

Meanwhile, the Battle of Bangui, in Central Africa, the only front lines that haven't stagnated, was still undecided.

Purge the xeno doomstacks.

A gun-type nuke is no cyclonic torpedo, but it will do the job. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to avoid them, the alien invaders may be undefeatable before 1963 without use of the proper way of dealing with xenos scum.

The Eurasian Stalemate begins

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate016.jpg

3449362794_45f43f5686.jpg

All other divisions of the alien forces in Bangui were driven to retret, but the Tripods continued to resist, until the determined offensive of those hundreds of thousand brave men began to destroy the tripod forces. Several of the restless fighting machines were brought down by the rain of artillery shells and anti-tank guns. AfrikaKKKorps push forward through the area, but the situation remains uncertain as the tripods still haven't retreated.

Meanwhile, Cherevopets had to be forsaken. The dream of raising the Polish flag over the Kremlin would have to wait while it became clear the diversionary offenisve there outlasted its effectiveness, and the UDMS-KKK forces in that far away front would have to evacuate Russia. Facing an estimated total of 1750 infantry divisions and 180 armored divisions, the UDMS-KKK was outnumbered by the massive xenos hordes, and had to grow further in strength before they could effectively open new fronts.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate017.jpg

By the morning of October 12th, the AfrikaKKKorps successfully surround the tripod division, and the heavy armaments firing from all directions now bring down more than half of that force, thus victory draws near. After taking extremely heavy losses, the tripod forces retreat. The Battle for Bangui is won. Central Africa continues to be the only front still not stagnated, for in North Africa the Tripods are too many to be drawn further away. The liberation of the Suez channel is a distant dream, but relocation of troops shall eventually happen as the fortifications are built over the static European front.

Control of Gibraltar means that the only safe place to move troops through is the Mediterranean. ANd thus, North Africa will eventually become very important again.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate018.jpg

In Bergerac arises the chance for one more push. It is a slim chance, but it cannot be wasted. The offensive against the province shows how the enemy may be defeated without the support of Tripods, specially as it allows for bombers to provide air support without being wiped out. The destruction of two tripod divisions in the last Battle of Toulouse is part of a greater strategic plan. Once all tripod divisions are wiped out, this will be a great victory for mankind.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate019.jpg

Because of one big mistake, these brave bomber crews were obliterated.

:salute:

But this will not shake the resolve of the fighters to never give up on the liberation and defense of Europe, Africa and Asia. The dream of uniting mankind, of creating the United Democratic Multinational States of Earth, the dream that this war will be truly the war to end all wars, the end of the Babel, the dawn of a global civilization and the end of all barriers between nations, this is what guide many to fight as much as the dream of returning home since their long exile.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate020.jpg

The enemy sends more forces to attempt defending Bergerac, and now the battle seems not so certain on regards to victory, but it may yet be won. The scale of this battle is truly gigantic, with over a million of human soldiers struggling for victory.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate021.jpg

Unfortunately, over sixty divisions of the enemy came to Bergerac, ruining this offensive, and now, devoid of organization, the forces of humanity were vulnerable to a counter-offensive.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate022.jpg

The tripods charged again against Toulouse. The defenders, weary from supporting the failed offensive against Bergerac, were in a very tight situation. The enemy was merciless and their legions sometimes seemed to be never-ending. But in this grim battlefield for the future of an entire planet, where the civilians were just a few miles away, they knew that. This was not a war for glory, for greed. This was a war for defending the lives of women and children, of friends, of everyone, of humanity.

CD_0002%5CIMM_BATCH%5C2BC_1456_1491%5C1485.jpg

And right into this once again seemingly hopeless battle stood the elected prime-minister of the UDMS-KKK, Kazimierz Sosnkowski, once again leading and inspiring the men and standing upon the battlefield, risking himself to inspire the defenders of Toulouse.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate023.jpg

Landfall_by_godwinfj.jpg

Once again, instead of giving up, Sosnkowski launched another seemingly insane counter-offensive against such technologically superior foe, spearheaded by the Baneblade super-heavy tanks attached to the Armored divisions under command of Maczek. They charged boldly, running through the corpses of the xenos fodder as their massive cannons fired against the tripods.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate024.jpg

The final push was here, and although successful the counter-offensive was not sufficient to stop the enemy attack. They held the region for more than 24 hours against such mighty foe, but they seemed to be losing, even with the arrival of reinforcements. This could be the end, the demise of all struggle for this place. Many suggested retreat to conserve organization, but Sosnkowski refused to fall back, even while the enemy continued to gain ground, he saw their strength diminishing as their weaker divisions were gradually falling back. All they had to do was withstand long enough their barrages.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate025.jpg

It was the 10th of October, 1946. Once again, in spite of everything suggesting defeat, Toulouse was successfully held by exhausted defenders. The aliens failed once more, and lost even more tripods. This victory was another very important one. Forces returned to Auch now that the battle was over, and the people who were resettling Toulouse cheered again their heroes. The fortifications were already being built for Toulouse, completing the Southern France Line, but it would take many months for the first of them to become operational.

The celebration however would turn out to be too early.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate026.jpg

For one day later the offensive was renewed. They were sending wave after wave against Toulouse, and although exhausted, the defenders, no matter how many of them would die, no matter how many battles they'd fight, never gave up. This became indeed the French Stalingrad, except with a far more fearsome enemy than the Nazi Wehrmacht.

Fortunately, like the waves of the sea fading as they rock with a solid wall of stone, this wave was also defeated. This string of multiple victories greatly boosted the morale of the UDMS-KKK forces, for it was never before witnessed. The total victory and end of the War of the Worlds was believed to get closer at every day, no matter how many the sacrfices it would take, and no matter how many more years were left.

The reports about the status of the war effort were coming:

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate027.jpg

The so called Eurasian Stalemate finally became a real stalemate. These would probably be the front lines in West Europe for years to come. On the other hand, while North Africa also stagnated, hopefully the situation in that front can yet be reverted.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate028.jpg

The offensive through Russia failed, and the 28 divisions there were being prepared to get onboard and perhaps, this time, safely reach North Scotland and get out of here. If they could reach North Africa, they would be able to make a real difference. Otherwise they'd have to be relocated to Scandinavia, to keep on with their diversionary operations.

The Winter of 1946 wouldn't take longer to begin either.

lphoi2-eurasianstalemate029.jpg

The only front where progress was still being made was Central Africa. AfrikaKKKorps would arrive in Bangui in 4th of November, and while the enemy managed to pull back a HQ division, by taking that strategically worthless province they were exposing themselves to a counter offensive.

Many more divisions were being prepared in Kwanzania to open a new front while the sheer majority of the xenos were concentrating in Europe. But there were at least two years left before the liberation of Asia was to begin, if not more, for the massive amount of territory to be held there would prove to be a gigantic challenge.

Many strategists predict that the aliens last refuge shall be Central and Eastern Europe, a second front succeeds in Asia. Poland may become the last land to be liberated.

But no matter what, one day the Polish flag shall once again wave over Warsaw.

Because all available UDMS-KKK forces are either totally critical in the fronts where they are and can't be spared to open another front and because the only ones that aren't in such situation are stranded in Arkhangelsk, and even them wouldn't be enough to hold Italy alone. And this not counting the fact Doomfleets with multiple nuclear carriers remain in the Mediterranean and that the entire UDMS-KKK Navy was wiped out by them, thus more amphibious operations in Europe are almost certain suicide.

Evacuation of Russia and a bold move in North Africa

Saving Private kingcomrade

lphoi2sidibarrani001.jpg

Maybe it is still possible to divert further the enemy's attention in this region. Thus they advance. If this doesn't work, the forces in this distant, cold land will be ready to evacuate. A plan, a bold plan that will require navigation through hostile seas to ensure they will bypass alien fleets, is established. Meanwhile, risks are taken in another, far away front where humanity is fighting: North Africa. Several of the relatively few divisions there advance further eastwards with the goal of encircling five tripod divisions.

lphoi2sidibarrani002.jpg

War_of_the_worlds.jpg

Then, as the forces were moving to prepare for the encirclement, Rabia is attacked in an attempt to break the entire front. At the first hour it seems a manageable attack to hold, through superior numbers and heavy anti-tank barrages, but then four other Tripods join the offensive, and AfrikaKKKorps are forced to retreat as their legion advances. The battle turns out against them, but they know the importance of this. Many were dying while they did their best to defend those sands, and wouldn't give up easily.

lphoi2sidibarrani003.jpg

In time, thanks to their bravery and to the ever courageous advance of the Baneblade Heavy tanks against the tripods, the tide of this battle began to be turned, but there was no certain victory yet. This was no easy foe. They only stopped after being destroyed, and morale seemed to have no importance, they just kept charging.

lphoi2sidibarrani004.jpg

But thanks to the continuous determination of AfrikaKKKorps, this very important battle was won, and many tripods were destroyed. Now everything was set to advance further around their position, to encircle and destroy these devastating war machines, that the enemy will never be able to recover, should once again a major victory happen in North Africa.

This could be the end of the stagnation of this front, or the beginning of a long stream of defeats forcing the brave AfrikaKKKorps to fall back.

lphoi2sidibarrani005.jpg

Meanwhile, Segezha proves too much. It is obvious what has to be done. There is no point for these brave men to remain there. It is about time to perhaps find a way of bringing them to a front where they can make a real difference, but the xenos naval forces are a serious threat. Much courage shall be required of the sailors.

lphoi2sidibarrani006.jpg

Their route shall be through the coldest seas of the arctic, for there hopefully there will be nothing, and then, they shall make a stop and rebase in Scapa Flow, from where they shall either bring the brave men who tried to liberate Scandinavia to North Africa, Central Africa or to reinforce the next amphibious operation of the UDMS-KKK, which shall open a new front in Asia and for the enemy to fight a massive two-front war.

lphoi2sidibarrani007.jpg

Unfortunately, continous harrassment by xenos make this very difficult, as the aliens try to block the way out of the White Sea. At first, they succeed, and the soldiers end back in Arkhangelsk. But this cannot be allowed to happen. Another attempt to bail out is being planned even after this near disaster. If they stay there, they will be doomed. There must be a way, there must be a way out.

lphoi2sidibarrani008.jpg

The xenos resurrected their fighter force, and unfortunately, on 1:1 odds, the UDMS-KKK fighters stand no chance against those advanced alien saucers shooting lasers. An entire air wing was lost, but they fought valiantly to the end.

:salute:

lphoi2sidibarrani009.jpg

Bravely, the Leman Russ tanks and Baneblades continue to advance through the desert, not looking behind, even when there are risks of them being cutted off from the other forces. In a few days this strategic encirclement will be complete, and then perhaps it will be possible to put an end to another large swath of tripods, and also finally race towards the Suez, closing the entire Mediterranean.

lphoi2sidibarrani010.jpg

Recently finished researches led to the improvement of tactical bombing doctrines and logistics. It is chosen to carry on with both, because of the scale of this war, logistics improvements are critical, and once the tripods are gone, tactical bombers shall become extremely important. There is much yet to develop, and an even longer road to revive the UDMS-KKK Navy.

lphoi2sidibarrani011.jpg

Baneblade.jpg

More tripod forces come in El-Alamein to attempt disrupting the encirclement. Rapidly, defenders are hurried towards Fuka to support the tanks against such foe. The battle for North Africa has reached another major decisive point. One of many that will come. For if they hold Fuka, then everything will be set to the final encirclement of five Tripod divisions, which will be another massive strategic victory for mankind.

lphoi2sidibarrani012.jpg

Thanks to the reinforcements, Fuka is held, while another attempt to escape the White Sea is intercepted. The enemy fleet begins to attack the entire convoy, when one brave captain, realizing his doom, does the unthinkable. He sets his big transport ship against the enemy warships at ahead flank speed, breaking off from the convoy, while artillery and anti-tank guns inside the ship are brought to the deck and loaded to fire against the enemy ships. It was a suicidal attack.

lphoi2sidibarrani013.jpg

But thanks to this attack, finally most of the forces stranded in Russia have managed to be evacuated. All those who gave their lives to save hundreds of thousands shall never be forgotten for their heroism and audacity.

:salute:

Meanwhile, the North and Central Africa fronts remain under a shroud of uncertainty about who shall prevail in them, now that neither of them is stagnated. West Europe is over, but in other continents, the UDMS-KKK patriots continue their struggle.

Road to Suez

Battlefield 1946

lphoi2sidibarrani014.jpg

Catachan_Jungle_Fighters.jpg

More Xenu Renegades in power armor appear and hide themselves in the jungles of Bangui, in an attempt to stop the AfrikaKKKorps advance through Central Africa. The concerted effort of the attackers is directed to slaughter them and break the xenos morale in spite of their inferior technology, through use of sheer concentrated firepower.

lphoi2sidibarrani015.jpg

Meanwhile, the final push to encircle those tripod legions begins, as from two sides, Leman Russ and Baneblade tanks attack Siwa with heavy support of infantry divisions and their attached anti-tank guns. Thus they emerge victorious, ensuring that now it is only a matter of time for the chance for a spectacular victory to come in North Africa.

lphoi2sidibarrani016.jpg

A hundred of naval transports and more than a dozen of infantry divisions are readied in Los Angeles, which will serve as an initial staging point for the coming operation in Asia. It will not take much longer than an year for this operation to be started, and once started, it will mark a new phase in the War of the Worlds.

lphoi2sidibarrani017.jpg

In preparation for this, even more Baneblades and Leman Russ tanks shall be built. The noose will be tightened against the alien. With every passing day, victories, although slow, continue to favor the UDMS-KKK, and their military is ever-expanding for this extremely difficult war against numerically and technologically superior foes.

lphoi2sidibarrani017.jpg

At last, the opportunity comes and is immediately taken. The tripods, deprived of supplies, surrounded and facing the might of the valiant crews of the Baneblade heavy tanks, began to perish after some hours of battle, and thus, a very important victory for mankind happens, as this will be a great loss for the enemy, and at the numbers the UDMS-KKK used to achieve this, a legendary victory.

lphoi2sidibarrani019.jpg

A setback happens in Central Africa, on the other hand, as AfrikaKKKorps are forced to retreat from the jungles of Bata due to a concentrated offensive by Xenu Renegades in power armor, thus they head north to support the previously lone HQ division, but this won't matter in the long term.

lphoi2sidibarrani020.jpg

Although the chances of victory are almost total, Nibeiwa proves to be tougher than expected, and the tripods resistance is fierce, deadly and ruthless. The dunes are replaced by massive craters left after thousands of artillery shells falling over the same places.

lphoi2sidibarrani021.jpg

But in the end, Nibeiwa is won, and now, the North African Army Group is very close to their final objective in this Continent: the control of the Suez channel. Another, lone tripod holds El-Alamein, and shall also be the target of another encirclement. The stagnation in this front was replaced by a near certainty of victory for the next months.

And thus they reposition themselves for the Battle of El-Alamein.

lphoi2sidibarrani022.jpg

However, in Europe, the xenos try once again to take Toulouse. Now most of their tripods were destroyed in battles like this, and they are resorting almost exclusively to their more "conventional" forces. However, with near numerical parity, their threat is substantial. The defenders do their best to hold their wave. They fight fiercely against the hordes, and sometimes it looked like the entire sun was covered by a rain of artillery over those lands scorched by near constant warfare.

lphoi2sidibarrani023.jpg

Meanwhile, a Tripod now lies in the jungles of Bangui, leading a very violent battle. Toulouse remains undecided.

lphoi2sidibarrani024.jpg

Guard_trench.jpg

The climax of the battle happens when the city is entirely surrounded by xenos. The defenders are severely stressed but they do their best to stop the hordes coming from all sides. Bravely, Sosnkowski stands right in the middle of the battlefield to boost their morale, and for many hours they keep firing, refusing to ever give up even when surrounded.

lphoi2sidibarrani025.jpg

Once again, their courage and determination have secured the future of Toulouse, while in Central Africa, a large army is still trying to drive back a lone tripod division from Bangui. In time, they also prove their bravery, and put the tripods to run. This stream of victories is a very positive booster in the morale for everyone. The xenos in the African continent will soon be isolated, and crushed fully, as the end of the road for Suez is close.

lphoi2sidibarrani026.jpg

Then, another legion storms against Toulouse, but they don't waver. No matter how many times, now matter how many xenos, they will hold their ground against each and every one of them. Reinforcements are coming if needed, as the defenders of the city haven't yet rested fully from the previous battle. Yet they didn't simply fall back.

lphoi2sidibarrani027.jpg

They emerged once again victorious. Meanwhile, the evacuation fleet taking those who were in Russia to Scapa Flow was almost reaching its destination, and would join with the coming liberation of Asia later.

In the jungles of Central Africa, in the sands of North Africa and in the ruins of Toulouse, the UDMS-KKK continues to fight, and a new force is being readied at this moment to open new fronts against the is powerful and dangerous enemy. How long will this apparent stream of victories and end of stagnation in all non-European frontlines? Are the xenos breaking up due to heavy losses? Will the Polish flag wave over Warsaw before 1963?

Well now that I think about it, its pointless now ... it would work as a Normandy invasion as a diversion and to pin down enemy divisions so they could quickly take France and then join up with the Italian force in a Hammer and Anvil attack.

But that would require the Atlantic and the Med to be (reasonable) safe and North Africa to provide safe harbor to the Italian Force.
