You don't need the stone walls diagonally in front of the turrets to protect them from explosions, just the walls directly to the side. Just tested it in dev mode to confirm.

Also about fort: you forgot choke point somewhere for melee. Poor Kalina will be complaining about friendly fire again.
That's because turret explosion is 2 tiles long as I was saying before!
I'll do it your way and shorten the turret sections a little.
I don't really plan to engage anyone in melee, unless they breach the turret line. Why take unnecessary risks? We need melee experts like Kalin for other situations.
For clubbing kolonists on a rampage, for instance.

Nope; definitely three tiles. It's simply that the wall will block the explosion from expanding horizontally; explosions in this game can never wrap around walls, even if the distance is shorter than the explosion radius.

Quick note on ancient cryo caskets: are they even working?
We can't be sure they do. Other kolonists insist on keeping the caskets closed, so I have no way to confirm if Kimmy is alive or not.
If everything is good, she is frozen. Her body will remain unchanged and unaffected by, well, anything. IF, however, they don't work as intended...

I think we're proper fucked in any case.
We were attacked by a warband of 7 muffaloes. Grimwulf made a MANLY DECISION to barricade and keep them out, but failed to complete the door in time. Grimwulfgrad was breached. Three kolonists are downed and heavily injured: Grimwulf, Kalin and lacgirl.
Enemy losses: one muffalo dead and a few others lightly wounded.
Two out of six muffaloes are currently chasing Dreaad.
The others are roaming around the workshop, waiting for Azira or hello friend to come out.
Keep in mind that Dreaad and hello friend are incapable of violence.

You are currently inside the Grimwulfgrad's workshop. It's safe. Muffaloes can't get inside, unless you leave the door open. But the situation is dire - your komrades outside are dying, and you won't last here too long as well.
You are not wounded, but tired, hungry and angry. Temperature indoors is pretty much the same as outdoors - it's cold. Four muffaloes are roaming outside, pretty close to the workshop. If you attempt to drag a kolonist to safety yolo-style, you will most likely fail.
Also, you are the last man standing who is capable (and willing) of using a gun.
What will you do?
1. Call hello friend and ask him to distract some muffaloes on himself. Save one of the fallen komrades while he does that.
2. Call hello friend and ask him to save one of the fallen komrades while you are distracting muffaloes on yourself.
3. Try to kill the muffaloes carefully, shooting them one by one and falling back to the workshop when they get too close. Non-powered autodoors are very slow to open and close, so there is an element of risk.
4. Carefully save your komrades one by one by dragging them inside the workshop and tending to their wounds. It's very cold and dirty here, also no beds. There will be infections, hypothermia, mental breaks. But at least it's nearby.
5. Your own survival is most important for you. You can outrun the muffaloes on your own, then stay in the town hall for a while. It's warm there, and plenty of food too. Wait out the muffalo invasion and save those who will be alive afterwards.
6. They will pay for what they done. Run south, to the entrance. Finish building that door which Grimwulf could not. Trap the muffaloes inside Kodex Kommunistic Kolony. The hunting season is open.

Here is the problem. In order to save them, one has to drag the bodies all the way through the tunnel. It's nearly impossible to outrun a muffalo who might notice the attempt and attack you. Somebody needs to distract the muffaloes.

Azira since he is only one who have weapon now. Also check out psychic items in storage - maybe something can be used.

My suggestion:
We've got 35 stone blocks to work with.
Azira's first priority should be placing the material for a stone wall at the red dash. The wall does not need to be completed to stop movement, it just needs to have material placed. This will prevent him from getting ambushed from behind while retrieving corpses. Diagonal movement is, as you can guess, impossible.
After this, focus on bringing the bodies into the workshop as you'll lose the safer eastern access during the next phase.
Once the bodies are secured, get stones to walls on the pink dashes but be ready to cancel and run back inside should Azira decided to place them while standing on the Muffalo side of the wall.
During this whole process, Hello Friend should be hauling material to place a wall at the blue dash.
Once done, it's mining time. Though I'd be tempted to say to treat the colonists before mining, as it'll likely be several in game hours before the mining is done.
Alternatively, you could direct the pink wall more eastward instead of north, but we're five stone short of really cutting out a significant part of the mining, though you could still cut out two tiles by doing so.
As for the psychic items, Grim doesn't appear to have a psychic sooth pulse, and that's really what he needs at this point. Of what he has, one is a psychic shock that downs one pawn with a high risk for brain damage, but I think that's only usable on pawns with a certain number of max hp or less, one that causes a pawn to go into a berserker rage, which might cause one muffalo to attack the others, and, hilariously enough, one that causes all animals on the map to go into a manhunter state.
Edit: Oh, and while Lacgirl is bleeding, it's only at 11% a day; she's going to die of infection long before bleeding out.

Nah, all stuff in the storage is useless in current situation. Maybe frag grenades, but I'd rather prefer rifles.

I doubt it will work (the digging part gonna take too long imo), but this is creative. I like it.

Not really; I've had a downed outlander survive for over a day and a half with significantly worse wounds when three outlanders with low quality shivs and mace tried to "rescue" me from a pack of 46 manhunter wargs. Hilariously enough, I ended up going hostile to the outlanders as I was unable to amputate an arm with an extreme infection and only 50% immunity with Mai being only a guest; I had to arrest her in order to bring up the operations tab.
The shortened route is, what, eight tiles long? That should be doable even with only one miner, and I'm pretty sure Azira is at least half-capable there with what I've seen in the LP.
