Nah, I don't see the point. But it is indisuptable that the games they had with smaller casts had more ~reactivity~ than kotor2.

Random aside for laughs: Patrick Weekes also hates Kreia: http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1060934618#post1060934618
I hated having Darth Old Lady explain moral ambiguity to me, when I knew that she was evil the whole time, and she and I lived in a world where evil spellcasters got ugly crap on their faces to make it pretty damn clear that no, giving the guy some money was not actually a morally twisty act with consequences that I couldn't possibly understand, Darth Old Lady was just being a dink and needed to stay on the ship.)

such a surprise. Apparently Kreia isn't darkier, sexier, better.

Just finished. Story was OK.

The last bit with the endless rooms full of Sith assassins was a bit rough.

I give it a:

I'd say mechanically, combat is totally fine. It's deeper and more nuanced than the original Knights of the Old Republic thanks to lightsaber stances, force forms, more feats, more cross-class building options, more weapons and mods, etc. Problem, as others said, is too much trash combat, not enough challenge by far, the awkward party control the engine has (that is, very little), and so on. I would definitely not play the game for its combat at all because of those issues. I mean, this is a game where once you hit about level 20 you can literally use Force Wave or Force Storm over and over with almost no limit and eradicate any enemies in less than 10 seconds with no effort whatsoever. Not good.

I always found the combat in KotOR games so fucking hilarious in how unlike Star Wars they are. Stand stock still and flail your light saber like a goit. What's funny is if you get an all male all jedi party, like you can in two, you can get everyone standing completely stock still and flailing their lightsabers like goits nearly in sync with each other. It's practically dysphoric to watch.

The party controls were minimal, because all you really needed to be able to do is queue 4 rounds of attacks. It did quickly devolve into a space bar fest as skyway would call it. combat starts, pick target, attack target, swap character, queue attacks, swap character, queue attacks, spacebar, wait 10 seconds for the 4 rounds to pass, spacebar. Other than that, there's no tactics, there's no real movement required.

Star Wars is actually for teenagers and preteens. Like 12-16. Thing is, there is good stuff for all ages in it, but that is the clearly the target group.

Also, the main character gets his hand cutoff. Obi Wan dies (are you saying he's nameless?). There is also torture scenes, bondage, accidental incest, Han shooting first.

Disney can save us all but they will probably make it more kiddie

Well, i just gave up on my playthrough, encounter yet another game breaking bug after finding all the Jedi masters and the Kreia conversation to return to Dantooine never triggers. Second time in the last couple of years that i have tried to replay the game and ended up giving up due to bugs. :(

I had a game-breaking bug as well, but was able to get around it using the cheat console.

No, it's a bug that appeared in vanilla too but hasn't been fixed. When entering Dantooine again after finding all the Jedi the plains level won't load (black screen) and you have to cheat to get inside the enclave.

What's with the peanut gallery?
KOTOR 2 kicks ass because of the writing, voice-acting, direction, dialogue and mechanics/narrative angle.

This.

For a first playthrough I just checked all the dialogues with the companions. Although Mira and the last flying droid were a bit too much, and they were introduced too late for me (I did Nar Shadaa as the last planet, so I suppose it's my fault ). Apart from Kreia I liked Visas, the Sith became in my eyes more than stereotypical villians who just kills beceause they are ivil. Sure, some subjects repeat in parts of the game, but the beginning hooked at Peragus hooked me to the game. The fighting is not a problem, since the jedi battles are very limited. I prefered Handmaiden and Visas duo. With master healing, speed and some dark powers combined with flurry the blaster guys in small groups are easy. The part with splitting up and going to temple to kill 3 siths at the end was harder. And Nar Shadda ending mob killing, coming from everywhere (Atton part). Side quests are nice, did almost everything, aside some bonus one.

As for the extra content - planet M4-78 was a very tedious experience. The map feels like a series of huge corridors and squares. Going forth and back to make main quests was not something I would want to repeat. Sure, there are escort droids, but nevertheless jogging with super speed cannot be totally avoided. The quests description are sometimes too vague, and finding droid 79-S2 from 78-X3 can be a real pain in the ass. Obviously there wasn't much playtesting, because the gap between the original planets and droid planet is big. After finishing the "resuce female Jedi" main quest I had enough and leave for good. I should stayed only with Restoration mod.

The new droid planet is utter shit, bad voice acting (they should have gone with full text instead of crappy voice overs), bad level and quest design, not worth the install.

Another accurate prediction from Roguey regarding fan-made content. :)
