If they want different ranks of Dremora, for example, they should draw inspiration from Battlespire, like bethsoft did in oblivious.

the mod does that too (kynval, markynaz, etc stuff), for some reason it just isn´t well documented - in the read me this stuff is addressed by "Tons of "new" Dremora and Daedra and related stuff" line.
i d recommend installing Darknut's Creatures 9 textures on top of it for mostly much better look.
also, anyone who uses Creatures X should download a patch from here - it fixes one creature that gives a warning upon death and as such breaks immersion.

i´ve seen someone mentioning MCA, my two cents in regards of this one would be don´t use it. older version (5.2) is pretty buggy and unbalanced when it comes to loot. i don´t know how buggy or unbalanced the newest one (6.1) is, but what i know is that if you use it, you end up with a game full of edgy/emo hairstyles.
for livelier environments, Starfires NPC Additions is a much better choice imo. bug-free, pretty much lore friendly and it contains mages teleporting in or out which is pretty cool.

Given that I've seen the most interesting and lore-friendly parts of this mod already incorporated in TR anyway, I'll pass and let the TR crew do the picking. :smug:

I've heard about it being buggy and breaking many quests, so, yeah, another mod to strike from the list.

What's wrong with the Bloodwing? It's just...some cliffracer that feeds on blood.

Nice knowing about Starfire's NPCs, though. MCA does add anime hairstyles and leather stuff, but I imagine you could disable them in the CS.

Morrowind modding is a mess because people add patches on top of the original mods. Why not just take the other mod, modify what is wrong, and rename it to something else?

Anyway the madness must end sometime. After 4 days installing and selecting mods, and having to discard the MWSE or MGE mods (they are still there, but not selected), i have this list - looks like it's not lite anymore:

Wait are all the markers on the map BEFORE you find them? If so then :decline: of SCO.

I'm going to larp to my heart's content (there is a optional quest associated).

Though i would prefer map to be filled, for the smaller things like the mage guilds or the teleporters.

I don't fucking believe this game needs a expert system (mlox) just to install mods

I get bored even thinking of playing Morrowind, dont know how many times it tried, but i always endet up installing a shitload of mods and then played up to the first town and quit because it was still boring.

Join all houses?
Werewolfforget?
Texture replacers?
Map mod?
:rage:

You should just play oblivious instead, kind sir.

In during :decline: .

@CK:
Original cliffracers were just as annoying as mosquitos at times, without being vampiric.

Also vampiric/fire belching/flesh armoured/ etc. variants of the same creature = lame.

I removed Join all houses. It conflicts with LGNPC.

Anyway mlox is a necessity.
There are lots of mods where it says the order is wrong. Morrowind patch project for one comes before bloodmoon because of a mistake they haven't bothered to fix (!!!), wtf, i'm sure the average retard doesn't know how to change the modified date of a file (i did it on the internal zip files).
I reported some false positives.

I would like it to update it's rule base thorough the internet but that will happen eventually.

Anyway the modding "game" is finished, now to play.

Edit: spoke too soon, couldn't resist the sounds mods

i have this list -

i´m not a purist, but with this combination of Great House mods you´re likely to get into trouble.
Grandmaster of Hlaalu is buggy and incompatible with Rise of the House Telvanni and Join All Houses is very likely to break Rise as well.
in any case, read RoHT´s readme carefully.

you should really consider playing a Telvanni character only imo.
playing a mage heavy char is the most interesting way to play Morrowind anyway, plus Rise of the House Telvanni + Uvirith´s Legacy together add HUGE amount of mostly quality content for the House.
can´t comment on Building Up Uvirith´s Legacy, but i´m pretty sure that with these three alone you´re looking at approx 60 hours of content.

anyway, since you seem to be determined to experience a lot of content and don´t seem to be that much concerned with lore, i´d recommend considering adding Morrowind Advanced and Creatures X too - you´re likely
to spend a good chunk of time at high levels and vanilla monster list isn´t really all that exciting for that.

for similar reasons, i´d also recommend Darknut's Greater Dwemer Ruins Volume 1, which makes the endgame much more challenging while staying relatively lore firendly. here´s [spoilers]a trailer.

also, i´d stay away from Sabregirl´s Ecology - it fucks up Bloodmoon with retardedly animated deers and is very prone to doubling so you´re likely to end up with 60 deers or guars at one place and such.

Texture replacers?
yeah, well, this is obviously a matter of taste and a lot of them suck, but i think a good mix can positively add to game´s atmosphere, not destroy it.

incidentally, i just reinstalled Morrowind 10 days ago and was rather satisfied with my basic retex setup. installation went roughly like this, in this order:

1.
Morrowind Texture Fix
Bloodmoon Texture Fix
correct UV rocks
this "prepares" the game for addition of sharper textures

2.
Morrowind Visual Pack - Combined
Jarrod's Bloodmoon texture pack
a base that puts most of textures "in line"

3.
all of Connary´s textures. for most of architecture and landscapes hist textures are simply the best and very purist-y.
he put all of his uploads down to "make place" for his all-encompassing Compendium, but that´s likely to be released in 2015, so until then, here´s this link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2JRYL4BT

that should be enough, as far as environments go, but for certain places there are better alternatives, so

4.
Telvanni Exterior UV Fix
Hi-Res Telvanni Textures
Green Marble Mournhold
Swiveller's Soils: Azura's Coast
Darknut's Dwemer Ruin textures
Natural Night Sky

5.
for weapons, armor and creatures, Darknut´s are by far the best, but he has some issues with packaging, so i´d recommend checking out BTB's Morrowind Mod List which properly describes how to install them issue-free.
checking out mods made by vurt shouldn´t hurt too, he probably takes his artistic license too far to stay purist friendly, but personally i really like his work.

anyway, i certainly like my Morrowind graphics whored :)

Yeah, I've been playing with a conjuration-focused character with Rise, Legacy, Building Up Uvirith's Legacy and LGNPC Uvirith's Grave, and having an absolute blast. It's often near-impossible to tell what quests and events are coming from which mod, it all integrates incredibly well, and I'm overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff there is available to do. Telvanni players have always had it best when it comes to content mods, but this blows anything else I've played (great house-wise) out of the water.

I'm going pure nightblade telvanni, though i am interested in what LGNPC did to make redoran more appealing.

@dr. one
You're right about the GrandMaster mod. Out it goes.

The LGNPC Redoran mods are definitely worth a look, played through with my last character. It's not as extensive as the aforementioned Uvirith stuff, but it adds a lot of intrigue, fleshes out the faction considerably and adds plenty to do once you're the grandmaster. Add to that that the LGNPC mods for Redoran towns/areas generally seem to be the biggest and best, someone on the team really likes that House.

A good place to own a gun.
I too recently thought about giving this game a whirl, and I too am one of those faggots who can't resist adding a shitload of mods to anything more than a few years old for "enhancement". There is a version out there by the name of "Epsilon's final" that includes:

Already pre-integrated and sorted, if you are interested. He says that's everything worth adding. I have no idea if that's true. What I do know is modded or not, this game is a little bitch about Windows codecs, so if you're an idiot like me who has a bunch of third party or updated codecs installed, good luck. I gave up for now, debating if I want to use a tool to unregister all my non-default codecs so I can play it.
