Example of ME3's homosexual "romance" "dialogue".

Funny thing is that Hideo Kojima himself said that he is a fan of Twilight.

Even though I don't care about everything he has done after MGS1 for PS, still, it looked like a horrible marketing stunt. I really don't remember what they were trying to advertise, I think he said that he wanted fans to send their Twilight fan art for some kind of MGS contest or smth.

I think he was just doing what Kojima does best: Troll.

Yeah. I guess the message there is that classic love stories aren't hurt in the slightest by being repressed or sexually implicit; that it's much more important that they 1) have original, three-dimensional characters who are engaging as individuals, and who the audience feels deserve a happy ending with one another, 2) aren't invented by screwy Mormon stay-at-homes with some unresolved issues about sex that need to be taken to the therapist. and 3) aren't an ass-kissing minigame in an RPG in which lonely people can act out a fake romantic fantasy with a pair of virtual dolls spouting incoherent double entendres at each other.

'Let's dance, Loco.' I mean, Jesus Christ. And it'll get praise for being progressive. It's not progressive, it's not enlightened, it's fucking embarrassing.

Very much what you just said. I suppose that in some ways the classic romance stories are examples of art from adversity - whether to prove themselves or to get out of an dire financial state or something else altogether. Additionally, nearly all the writers now considered to be classic had an excellent education. Neither is the case for either Twilight or Bio author/s, even if the latter have degrees. Add a complete lack of passion for their own craft, and an enormous amount of ass-kissing that none of the classics (even Dickens) have ever dreamed of, and there you go: uninspired, uninformed, unchallenged bits of crap.

What I would love is a Mass Effect 3 scene where you discover two of your crew memebers having secret gay sex hidden in the airlock, with and EXTREEME option to press the button to eject them both into space :smug:

That would be awesome. Just saw Solaris not too long ago, so this solution definitely mirrors well with "holy crap my dead wife is back, lets eject her out of the airlock and not deal with any of the emotional implications".

David Gaider doesn't write for Ass Effect 3.

It's actually the female writers that wrote all the gay romances in Dragon Age too.

I don't think, that Twilight "thingy" and ME+ are on the same page. Twilight is just XIX'que stupid moral fantasy crap for... dunno... old reverends (or something like that). ME2 tries to be modern at least (in the sense of reflection of modern cultural currents - thus - "the all gay thing"). Not at the same page, definitely. Quality of story, that another... story, though.

Well, it's not so much modern as it is current, then, or, hm, topical. I get what you mean, but I wouldn't call it modern - it's just a conglomerate of topical "issues" that aren't addressed in nearly any way. Ah well.

He wrote Zevran and Fenris.

Also the thing in the OP is fake, people who've actually read the leaked script say the only male gay romance is a shuttle pilot named Steve. Lesbians get Samantha.

Well.... I agree. "Issues" weren't addressed (because ways to address them are infinite, probably) but they are still there. To be frank, I prefer commander Shepard whooping everyone ass (regardless of sex or race) over Twilight'ish patriarchal conservatism. Just imagine ME in the Twilight sauce... yup... yuck...

Ps. Out of curiosity, one of omissions of ME series is... faith. I mean, intelligent alien race, for sure will be a big problem for Christian doctrine, because of role of Saviour. Does he dies for aliens too? Or what about phrase "Let us make mankind in our image"? But nobody in the game seems to care (even that military chick, forget her name (not my romance choice...) who is "believer"). Anyway, in some sense, in absence of absolute, Shepard become a Saviour (thus he'll probably must die "again", to fulfill he's cliché destination). But that is another story.

What about Scientology and the major ramifications intelligent life has for it too? Suddenly Xenu doesn't look so retarded after all.

We, in the Europe, don't know much about Scientology... ;) But seriously, I don't know much either and after reading some wikipedia pages about it... well... it's grand gibberish (very kindly to put). Anyway, is there any trace of Scientology in the ME universe?

FWIW, Ashley does talk about God in the first game. Don't recall it being particularly deep, although I appreciated it enough to choose her over the horny blue-skinned space babe.

Ah, yes, Ashley (imho, she is the only one character in the game bring up that question). For this very reason, I choose not her, not that blue-blond one (not so horny I'm afraid), but a miss Latex herself. Such a fine choice for a gentlemen with a proper taste.

Ps. Fubar... Miss Latex was only available for "romance" in the ME2. So... eh... yes... blue-blond was "my romanceable thing" in the ME1. *sight*
