There's again a bunch of ass backwards design in the DLC. Dragons and necromancy don't gel because you want corpses in your crypt but also their items, which you only get by selling corpses. I'm sure there's more.

Still play exactly the same when picking the dragon lord, game has too little replayability, Ai still too passive, and that dlc not going to change anything.

what I find the most surprising is how AI's alignment will systematically shift from evil to good or vice versa along the game

So been playing this and I got to say, this game has more flavour than most of the pablum crap that comes out these days. You get to mold a story with the mechanics and the unique events are much more engaging than the regular pedestrian crap from other games, though there are those too. The systems and the amount of customization gives a sense of true ownership, the flexibility is real unlike the apparent surface level one present in the prior game. Went back and played Planetfall for a bit to see if it was a feeling and yeah, mechanically Planetfall has more variety and more stuff to do but actually playing it feels like eating flour.

AOW4 needs a lot more stuff in it to be actually engaging beyond a campaign or two, endgame was a clusterfuck for me and mastering most of the tomes was weird, kind of homogonizes the race identity. Definitely needs a few patch for bugs.
Hope this game gets some patches & dlcs to elevate it.

Edit: Nvm, dropped it so fast..

I got Planetfall with all DLCs for like 2 Euro from the ...grey-area sites. But I have 0 interest in AoW4, I pirated it when it came out and it's downright bad. I don't think it's going to get much better honestly.

I've sunk like 80h during 7 campaigns and ideas are great, molding your nation feels cool, as you can roleplay whatever you like. I really had some HoMM3 vibes( dunno why).
Unfortunately endgame (past 100 turns) is total clusterfuck, researched units are obsolete after recruiting 2-3 of them. This game is like playing MTG without color mana. You just slap together what's seem strong. Some tomes are better than the others and there is no reason to not take them, like Revelry, or Barbarian Tome.

It really needs some time in the oven. Where are desert affinities? Where are water tomes? Why Necromancy sucks so much? Why are there are so little powerful spells? Why strategic map is so flat. |
Also siege mechanic is a fucking joke, wait for 10+ turns to start assault on the city, wtf?!

Overall I'm waiting for all DLCs and patches, to play further.

Well shit. How about if I look into them one at a time.
Quite tactician, aren't you.

Did they fix that god awful design where enemy AI spawns with copy/pasted sets of items making exploring wonders borderline pointless? Did they fix the AI and shitty winning conditions yet? Did they add more items?

No, they haven't fixed the most egregious things that will require an almost complete overhaul of the game and they won't fix them. Daed gaem on top, with only 1k players daily.

What a weird way to announce an expansion. Probably left with a pack of doritos and some snownigger change for a budget from paradox again.

Also that four eyed guy who features in most of their videos looks like he's on the verge of transitioning. All is not well at the house of Triumph.
