I have both.

On one hand, the 360 has like... no games except for Halo and Gears, and they're not even good. I regret buying a 360, actually. And it has paid online, hurr. All of the 360's "best" games are on PC anyway.

PS3 has just as shit community as Xbox Live's but it's free online and actually has some diversity when comparing PS3 exclusives to Xbox 360's.

The difference being that compared to a normal one, the argument is which one is shittier, not which on is better. This might be superior if only slightly.

What is the point of Blu-Ray higher capacity if you end having to install the damn thing in HDD anyway?

Sony put a Blu-Ray on the PS3 as a Trojan Horse maneuver to make Blu-Ray (that they own) win the HDOD format war, Microsoft that had little to do with that war (besides software, the VC-1 codec to be more exact) never backed HD DVD beyond as external player add-on.

Sonytards like to harp Blu-Ray, forgetting that its only a actual advantage when the PS3 is being used as Media Center and NOT when as a game console were its advantages are rendered moot by technical reasons (slow seeker speed of the drive) and the Xbox 360 offering the same (HDD installation), unless you REALLY have a problem in getting you FAT ASS up and switch the disk.

Yes, these are indeed the people we are calling consoletards. The people who gather round to play FIFA or NBA2K or Gears with their friends for a laugh, not the mouth-breathers who think that Halo 3 is the best game ever, nor the people who buy every single DLC the companies throw at them. I love the fact that playing games alone on PC means you don't have any friends though, it seems that all the money spent on advertising by the console makers were well spent.

I'd watch a Let's Play of Demon Souls before buying a PS3 based on that.

Why? That ruins the whole experience. The game is only fun when you don't know anything about it. The game loses a lot of its charm after the first two play throughs because then you know all the level layouts and monster placements.

I never played Demon's Souls (obviously) but I got the impression from people calling it a "hardcore dungeon crawler" that it was essentially a third-person roguelike. Watched a few hours of an LP and it just looked like a very shallow hack 'n' slasher with inflated difficulty. If the core experience of a game is based on dying and restarting until you know where all the monsters/traps are, what's the point? You may as well play some mega-hard indie platformer if you want trial-and-error gameplay in its purest form. Perhaps I was heavily influenced by unfavourable comparisons to Severence: Blade of Darkness.

The game is hard, but not nearly as hard as many gamers would like you to believe. The games difficulty comes from the cleverly placed monsters, traps and boss fights (no bullshit fake difficulty, if you die it's your own faut and not because the computer cheated). What this means is that if you don't try to play the game like it's Diablo or DMC you won't be dying all the time in the most miserable way possible.
