Just got back from the burial ceremony. Feeling sad since the we lost Black_Willow, Rabidredneck and LazyD, even if the team did save Rome from fate worse than death. Well, at least there were no crying widows there. The mayor of Rome, Mr.Rutelli said few words and thanked everyone. He presented some fancy, shiny medals to captain Silellak, Big Nose George and Krraloth. Felt good to be part of it, even if I'm not in the team.

Had to kill more aliens today. It's a Goddamn shame. Why don't our leaders talk to them? There's always a diplomatic solution. Or maybe try a more stealthy approach? Like...sneak the Earth away when the aliens aren't looking? Or something? I don't fucking know. I'm not a fucking scientist. But I know there has to be a better way than this. It's like they aren't even trying.

Time to chill out a bit after last, not very successful terror mission.
Small UFO shows up high in the sky, to fall into the deep sea.
New Codexia users arrive to kick some butts:
It seems Darth Roxor will be our first nader in squad.
End of month and we get still Excellent rating, good job soldiers
Yet it seems only Egypt didn't increase funding. Ok, we will remember this when they get Terror Mission 
Another small UFO goes down to the wet sea.
New recruits. juggernaut is copy of Darth Roxor?
Three days later, we have a guest.
But before I'm able to send an Interceptor, we completed Medi-Kit research, at last! we go straight for Alien Alloys.
It took a bit of time to take this UFO down, but fuck yeah, it crashed in Italy. Probably this will be the last mission without Medi-Kits, I wonder how many dies during it. Silellak and Luzur stay in the base, time to show rookies what real survival is!

Farmland. Honestly, night missions are my most favourite ones and probably Aliens too, since they don't get any FOV penalties.
Tank as so far not disturbed, travels north. Darth Roxor is the first soldier leaving Skyranger-1 and throws two flares around. lightbane, our new LP-SR wielder, goes to check out the closest stable. Ashery throws flare north-west and stays on the bridge. Rest waits
It's Aliens turn and we already spot first Floater. Second one shot towards spekkio from south.
Second turn. spekkio has loaded Incendiary rounds in his Auto-Cannon and whit fine auto shot, Floter burns alive. Also we get extra light source for some time. Tank travels south, Darth Roxor continues spreading Flares.
Nothing happens during alien turn. Lazor Tank finds Floater by barn, and in human way takes him down. NOT.
lightbane finds Floater, but first poocolator tries to take him down, making a hole in the barn. Floater respond with auto shot and hit once poocolator, but for no damage. lightbane takes him down with Laser Pistol.
Two turns later, Overweight Manatee leaves UFO and tries to throw Flare on west from spekkio, but lacks of skills, so he had pass it. spekkio throw it on west and found another Floater. Overweight Manatee with total pro snap shot
Fire starts spreading around.
SV and BUMFACE leave the Skyranger-1 and wait for proper moment to kick in.
Ashery & poocolator with courage go to the west.
Alien turn. Floater tries to kill spekkio, in responds he gets shot that misses too... nothing more happens so far.
Lazor Tank is on the south edge of the map, time go west. Ashery and Poocolator go towards the UFO, lightbane scouts other stables.
Oh shit.
Darth Roxor knowing what could happen, throws Grenade under Floater legs? anyway, he didn't react, so Darth Roxor throw also Flare at UFO door and retreats
Poocolator spots another one! snap shots him once and avoids Floater response. SV take care of him with skilful shot
Oh noes, UFO is on fire.
Darth Roxor prepares two grenades for some blow up action.
Ashery and poocolator are getting closer to the UFO.
Overweight Manatee has a good place to "guard" UFO entrance, if something goes wrong.
Eleven turn. Poor lightbane is tired!
Darth Roxor tries to throw first Grenade inside UFO trough small hole, but fails. Damn.
Second one goes smooth in End of turn and explosion inside the UFO didn;t kill anyone.
poocolator enters UFO and scored one Floater and stunt second one somehow. In next turn when he re-enters, we see two another Aliens.
When poocolator manage to take one down, Ash takes care of another one.
Flawless victory.
Funny how BUMFACE gets promotion for doing nothing and George, for laying in bed. Anyway

After selling some Alien tech and Lazor Tanks, it seems we have enought money to start another base, on different continent. Which one you ask? depends from you, Soldiers of Codexia.

Finally went out on my first anti-extraterrestrial mission. Scared the shit out of me, but I got one. I knew that my target practice during the incident containment and cleanup (fancy speak for destroy all evidence) missions wouldn't go to waste. I still can't understand how X-Com can afford million dollar alien research programs but us grunts can't get simple NVD's. We have to resort to throwing torches and setting the place on fire to provide illumination. Not that I have anything wrong with that.
Think of him as a psi punching bag. He soaks up attacks and if he's unarmed he won't be hurting us. If you removed him the aliens would just focus on the next weakest, who may only have 5 more psi strength or something. Out of our entire complement there is probably only 2 or 3 that have enough to effectively strength to be psi immune.

I know I'm not one of the meatbags in your squad yet, but I'd say that protecting the investment that's the US of A seems like a good idea.. I mean 1.3 mil? That needs nurturing; should they ever cut funding due to being taken over it'll hurt bigtime..

Not too bad for a night mission.
I always have my soldiers carry loads of light grenades and throw them around like mad even on day missions. This is very good for quickly improving strength, throwing skills, stamina and time units even if they don't actually kill aliens.

I have to wonder if melee attacks would work though. Does it trigger the increase only if you hit an alien or if you hit air or a human? You could always let everyone in the squad take a turn at stunning the second to last alien or something even if not.
