It is an idiotic shit that they do with this type of videos. In paranormal games reading and finding about the creatures is half the fun. Showing them up before the game is out is the worst.

Doesn't this game have card-based combat? What is up with this garbage trend to put card-based combat into everything?

If I remember correctly the combat isn’t card-based, it just uses cards in the UI as an aesthetic choice for your options in combat.

It’s obvious from the fact that a decent chunk of people believe the game’s some kind of deck builder at first glance that they probably should’ve went with something else.

The Thaumaturge Quest Trailer
Watch a few minutes of gameplay along with developer's commentary

Check out the Quest Trailer and watch a few minutes of gameplay along with a commentary from the developers!

This particular quest, titled
‘To Dust, You Shall Return’
, unfolds across several locations in Warsaw, which was under the yoke of Russian rule at the time. Poles, Russians, and Jews all coexisted within the city’s borders as it flourished culturally and architecturally before WWII, making it the perfect setting for an RPG. First stop? The elegant Imperial Hotel, where Wiktor meets Swietłana, a member of the Tsar’s court desperate to escape the city.

Take care,
Fool's Theory and 11 bit studio

We hope you've enjoyed the Quest Trailer! If you'd like to learn even more, tomorrow you can watch The Thaumaturge developers play the game.

Perhaps there will be a Potato language version? The Witcher allowed you to run any mix of audio and subtitle language choices, for example.
There's only English audio.
Hopefully they'll add a few "kurwa" as sounds made by human enemies (if there are any) in combat. That would work even in English version - immersion is important. OTOH at the time it probably wasn't the word of choice so maybe it is best if they don't add it.

The release is in less than three weeks and there is still no price for the game? What the hell? :o

I buy less than 1 game per year (at least anything that costs more than 10€), but I'm tempted to give this one a go, even without any reviews.

I don't know if I can force myself to play a rpg set in Warsaw where everybody speaks english... Needs more kurwas.
Agree with this., why set it in Poland if you only plan an English language version? It just makes no sense, set it in the UK/US/AUS that is the case.

I guess it is set in Poland so they can show off Slavic occult? US would have to settle for Cthulhu mythos.

What a fucking joke, does anyone play Stalker in English? Does anyone plays Metro without Russian dub? What about Kingdom Come, did they forgot how everyone wanted Czech dub so much that eventually fans funded it by themselves, im not even mentioning games set in the land of weebs. Fucking bastards, always keep biting the hand that feeds them. Native languages dont scare off players, they increase atmosphere of the game and add somewhat exotic appeal for the foreign player.

You people will cry about anything. Oh no, a non AAA game aimed at rich westerners didn't spend extra money on a Polish dub?! What an outrage!

Seriously who gives a shit

Interesting. But most of the February ones are just re-releases for new platforms, meanwhile Dragon's Dogma 2 is releasing in March and it's one of the bigger RPGs hype wise.

Not the same wheelhouse as Thaumaturge since it's a JRPG (like most of these releases), but there will be a significant cross-section.

Dragon and Dogma 2, Alone in the Dark, Prison Architect 2, Rise of the Ronin, Outcast... March is pretty packed, but none of those games are actually competing with the crpg niche, so the game shouldn't have problems getting interest.
