Well, the Tex average per backer was skewed by the high tier backers and their "mysterious" backers. Otherwise, the percentage of $15 backers seems to be the same as for the other projects.

Yeah I'm surprised that Spaceventure has nearly twice the supporters, but still less funding, and I'm not sure a chance to win some old Sierra games is the right incentive to get some people to up their pledges.
I'm not sure you can fault the two guys for not having the charisma of Tim Schafer, but that not a good excuse for not having a good pitch video.
I also don't think many more games can get by with a 'Hey guys I want to make an adventure game' pitch.

Still hoping they have something prepared for today that would drive more people to increase their pledge. It's gonna be funded, not much chance of failure now, but would be nice if they got a bit more than the 500k. Maybe they open a PayPal option afterwards with the same tiers as on Kickstarter and keep it up for a while longer.

They are going to make it. Who knew. And they already got more than Jensen.

It's because Tex always appealed to the connoisseur of adventure games. It was so much different from the bog standard 2D colorful point and click games that Lucasfilm and Sierra were peddling. Those are the fast food, Tex is the gourmet meal. The riff-raff goes enjoys Schafer's bulging eyes and pulled faces, the elite favor the clean manner of Chris. :obviously:

This one is really starting to look like an impossible mission :(
$200k in 9 days...

Anyway, I decided to re-watch (and share it here) this really awesome video on the SQ series and the origins and history of adventure games: http://www.youtubeXXX.com/watch?v=VGh7i2mj5tU
(this guy really comes up with amazing videos, a shame he stopped doing them)

Share it around (together with the http://www.tgakick.com link) by email, twitter, facebook, and maybe it will gather more pledgers.

wow... just a week ago I really thought this one was an impossible mission.
we're almost there... what a recovery.

I'm guessing this was what the TGfA have been listening this past week while putting out all those updates:

Tex series has always been a bit of a sub-genre for Adventure games and, as noted, has its own niche of fans.

I am surprised that they have managed to pass the goal which was set pretty high.

Hell yeah!

I was afraid classic Sierra games would be too hardcore for today's audience, even for those who played them back in the day, but I'm glad there's still enough support for them to make their goal.
