Well if you where a TRUE codexer you would have gotten it when it came out like me.
Surprisingly, yes. That message might easily be corrupted by marketing ("herp derp let's make XCOM an FPS"), but I think it's fair to say that publishers do examine the interest in older titles, even ones as giant and soulless as Activision, though whether they'll ever act on it is probably extremely unlikely. I don't think you'd be seeing a Dead Space from EA if it wasn't for continued interest for System Shock over the past decade, for instance, or Dragon Age if it wasn't for the massive Baldur's Gate following, and just about every single Sim game released was a direct result of the success of SimCity. Sure, most games inspired by long-lived classics don't end up well, but you'd have to be pretty damn cynical to think publishers don't pay attention to the sales of their own products. I mean, this isn't hard. Game sells, game gets sequel, even if it's some shitty nostalgia exploitation trash.Mhain said:Yeah, do people seriously think that they are sending a message to the publishers?
Actually if it's going to have any influence it will be for more vampires in games.Excidium said:Buy VTMB and send them a message: More RPG elements on the next Call of Duty.

Somebody in the gaming industry had to capitalize on the Twilight fad.
