Meh, will pass if it's just an updated re-release. Nice way to fuck over your early adopters as usual. If it's a whole new game it might be worth it. I never played SMT4 Apocalypse, but apparently it was decent?

smt4a was not "complete edition of Shin Megami Tensei IV" but totally different game
and yeah smt4 and smt4a both have pretty good combat

probably just some cash grab version with all the dlcs + maybe 1 or 2 new quests/demons

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I think it's SMT V Complete, with all DLCs, and multiplatform.

I can't be upset about it, because I knew such a version (maybe with new stories and quests) was coming. I'm happy with the version I got, and won't buying if it isn't a new game.

If you ignore the story and characters, yeah , 4Apocalypse has the best combat in the series, especialy in harder difficulties. The last boss is probably the best final boss in any SMT.

I've been thinking of trying other means to play this lately. Guess I'll just wait for the ultimate version!

I never played V.
Nocturne is one of my favorites games, how is V compared to that?
Good Dungeon Crawler and challening difficulty??

difficulty was decent with the hardest setting, did not need to grind for bosses unless u wanted to do dlc bosses "early" and there is 1 hard non dlc optional boss

better game than I was expecting but still worse than SMT3 / strange journey but those games are peak jrpgs

All dungeon in this game suck and it's focused on Open Ended levels, also not that hard. Games gives you too much stuff that trivialize most diffculty.

Free teleport to the latest save spot that's also a shop , demon fusion , etc. Essences from SJ are now easy to get, most miracles (APP from IV and SJ) are extremly good , Magatusuhi's skill are way too good and Dampeners are items that basicily just give you a free turn. There's no sense of danger , but you might still find enjoyement with it.

A problem is that enemies appear on the overworld instead of being random encounters, so you can pick and choose your battles, but it's also trivial to just run away in most situations or use your free escape to savepoint spell. You never get that feeling of being three floors deep in a dungeon and having to play carefully and manage your healing like in SMT3.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Enemies being present in world map wasn't an issue in IV when avoiding them was moderately challenging.

Perhaps the new version will add a 'hardcore' mode that prevents you from escaping so easily. I'm a big fan of the core demon recruiting/fusing gameplay, but it really does need a worthy challenge to make it feel rewarding.

Man, it's so hard to find games that give you that these days. Basically it's just roguelikes, and even those often don't stop you from just full resting between encounters.

Not getting enjoyment then, can't deal with piss easy JRPGs anymore.

Good Dungeon Crawler
It's not really a dungeon crawler at all. It's the main criticism leveled towards it.

WTF.
VERY disappointing, was looking forward to something like Nocturne again.

Expansion pack like Nocturne was to SMT3.

Also, I probably will be buying like 20 copies of this game. Anyone here who is genuinely interested in it who never got to play it on the switch, or has a friend who wants to try out the genre?

Vengeance is an alternate route you choose at the start. So this is like IV:A sort of thing except the original is available too. Main antagonist is Lilith with 3 other female demons.
