Oh yeah, i updated my vote to include underrail:HD, i bought it, played it, but got filtered at first few patrols having too low level and shelved the game. I will still rate it the solid 3/5.

If you replaced the story, the writing, the characters, the quests, the romances, the art style, and half the mechanics, BG3 is actually a pretty okay game.

(I refuse to vote for Dreams in the Witch House in an RPG poll)

I was expecting someone to add games like Amnesia: The Bunker, that I have read good things about on this very forum (didn't want to add it myself, since I haven't played it).
Not even remotely an RPG. I had a good time with it though.

Chose and pick I said, not play everything you can.
But why pick any new release over the best ones in your backlog? That way the number of older, good games in your backlog will just keep growing, while you chase the newest average ones. It's akin to only listening to the latest music in the singles charts, and thus as far from prestigious as it gets.

As for not being prestigious, survival craft bullshit-games are a cancer on games, that's why I disdain that you play that shit
No The Long Dark is one of the best games ever, and doesn't contain huge amounts of crafting (about the same as say the Witcher games, maybe).

But even left as it is BG3 is better than your games

I was torn between writing something like "yeah my porn games are a real high bar for quality lol."

Then I thought about it some more and I concluded, yeah, pound for pound any of my games are better than BG3. Even that crappy 2 dollar walking sim that uses default rpgm graphics.

Not just qualitatively better either, they're not even in the same medium. My BG3 parody is going to be great.

Regular men merely complain about how bad BG3 is.

I'm gonna make money off it.

:excellent:

Pretty mediocre year as far as CRPGs go. Best game I played was actually a JRPG. Everything else was either an inferior copy of an older game that brought nothing new to the table, or a mild disappointment. The only one I’ve got hopes for is JA3, but I can’t run it.

Still more RPG than Disco Elysium tho
I was wondering about Blood West being on the list as well.

This retard also included games such as Lies of P (which is an action-adventure)

Eh, it's as much of an RPG as Twitcher 3. A bit less RPG than Dark Souls games (because you can customize your character in those).

It has been a great year for roguelikes though.
If you consider bullet hell twich action roguelites and random card game crap as roguelikes, as Steam seems to do.

Main reasons I haven't bought BG3;

I have backlogged games coming out the wazoo.

I won't pay $50 plus for a digital game. Boxed copy with a proper manual, map, etc and I would be happy to pay the big bux for something I would enjoy, but not for a download.

The Ultra Super Awesome Finished Edition will eventually surface with all the content thrown in.

It's a Larian game, and from the fact I haven't finished a Larian game since Divine Divinity, and have always gotten bored with them by half way mark, or before, there's even less reason to not wait for the inevitable 90% plus off Ultra Super Awesome Finished Edition to bother trying it out.

I gave BG3 1 rating. Downloaded that stuff for 3 days, played for remaining 3 hours I had for that. It does looks nice considering it has survivable hardware requirements. But frankly it lacks style.

Between 184 hours of cutscenes, an absolute shit-tier ruleset, and an abundance of political agenda, I really don't know why you would want to play BG3. Turn-based? Yeah, no. (coming from a massive ToEE/KoTC fag)
