I don't believe you know what that word means. "Reason to care" is different from needing a clear-cut "go kill this guy." It's the oldest rule in writing that just because you say to people "THIS IS REALLY COOL" doesn't make them think something is cool. Show, don't tell.
But then, I believe that what you write in that link might be my biggest disagreeance with you ever. Have fun playing Forgotten Realms 3rd Edition Campaign Setting: The Game, then.

But that's my whole point you blathering woman. The content is good, the context is not. I'm not dismissing the content on account of the context as you seem to suggest (or was it a willfully employed strawman?), I'm saying you judge what is presented to you, and the context presented to you is weak.
Otherwise why have a story at all? Why not just play strings of code manipulating other strings of code? It's not my fault the game has a story, and it's not my responsibility the structure works. It's Josh's.
