Some locations, lotsa kung-fu fighting, and this "not at all over the top, like totally military, like I can totally hold this big ass gun with one skinny hand, come on you guys, sex sells!" chick:

Wouldn't her tiny arms break from holding such a heavy item?

No, because she's like full of cybernetic implants. We're talking about a bionic babe here.

When enemies know you're around and start shooting, your combat skills can be useful for returning fire, especially if you have dual SMGs equipped. By using a bullet storm special ability, you'll briefly be awarded with unlimited ammunition to go on a limited tear, ideal for wiping out a larger group of foes.

Problem? It's supposed to be a super-spy game. Thus you get to have an insane superspy who can shoot as much as possible in a short amount of time. Plus, you don't even have to use it. Plus that ability is old news by this point.

Once again, supposed to be inspired by the over the topish spy movies. Think James Bond with Roger Moore-Pierce Brosnan.

There was a similar ability in stranglehold. I'm sure there will be a lot of slow-motion involved.

Insane super spy shooting like Rambo, you said?

Plus, you don't even have to use it.
Don't you have that inner voice that's supposed to say "Oh no! No, no, no! Don't go there..." when you start furiously typing "you don't even have to use it!"?

Anyway, I have no problem with insane super spies, but unlimited ammo as a special powah? Isn't that kind of ... I dunno ... stupid?

I don't recall anything of that sort in the Bond movies. No bullet storms, no insane super spies, no Red Alert chicks with rail guns. I must have missed that. Care to enlighten me?

Since when? The last Obsidian game I've played was KOTOR2 and that one was not too good, since Lucasarts' rape.

Of course. Rambo was a total spy, he barely killed anyone in the first movie.

I did. It's the worst thing to say in response. I feel like a tool, probably because I am one.

Anyway, I have no problem with insane super spies, but unlimited ammo as a special powah? Isn't that kind of ... I dunno ... stupid?
Yes. But it's not as though the unlimited ammo lasts forever, it's a short burst. It's not like unlimited ammo in the Mass Effect sense. Where it was literally unlimited ammo. It's more of an effect, think in movies how some will have people fire like 30 shots with one pistol without reloading. I would assume it's supposed to be like that.

I don't recall anything of that sort in the Bond movies. No bullet storms, no insane super spies, no Red Alert chicks with rail guns. I must have missed that. Care to enlighten me?
I'm talking more about the over-the-top ridiculousness. Such as the whole shit in space with Moonraker. Plus all the chicks are supposed to be slutty, much like most of the women in James Bond movies, since they're basically all objects.

---
I am probably bias, I do have an interest in some of the ideas behind the game. Not really a fanboy though, I haven't really paid attention to it beyond a few articles. Apologies if I seem like a dick in my explanations.

A M60 weighs about 23 pounds thats 10.4 kg for you civilized people. Firearms also tend to be well balanced so the pose is actually believable.

The outfit on the other hand is obviously targeted at adolescent males. Although in their credit her breasts aren't 44 DDD. Personally I don't get the sex sells logic with regards to video games. I just can't see people getting excited by little PC game characters given the over abundance of real porn on the internet.

If I want to see chicks with guns I'd rather look at Oleg Volk's work.

FUCKING EXTREME! Total super spy right there, John Wooing those SMGs. He must know Gun Kata!

God damn. Obsidian is making a game almost as dumb as Fallout 3, maybe equally so. I guess for every good game they have to have a total stinker. The only way they can salvage this is by making it a clever satire on the idiocy of the industry.

People so why are you moaning? Wasn't it known from the start for whom this game is made?

So move on to SoZ and Aliens RPG, there is nothing to see here.

If we've reached a point where Skyway says we should stop bitching, then we should. Seriously.

Funny. The only things with this new update for the game that the Codex could bitch about was a few screenshots, one with a woman holding a gun in a believable stance, and one with a guy acting liking every other action hero; and the other being a description of a special ability attack. It's basically bitching just for the sake of bitching.

Almost or equally as bad as Fallout 3? Lol.

When was the last time Obsidian made a good game? Seriously.

If you don't count expansions....I could sort of agree. Fired up KOTOR 2 on the Xbox not too long ago because I enjoyed the story and wanted to try being an evil douchebag and see how that worked while hoping it wasn't Bioware evil, and found the gameplay pretty unbearable. I dropped my playthrough n hour or two in because of that. Neverwinter Nights 2 OC was godawful, and only the two expansions (assuming Storm of Zehir is decent) have gone anywhere.

Obsidian really needs to play to their strengths more. They have tons of talent, but they never seem to be able to apply it correctly. A console action game is most certainly not the way to do that, but I'm looking forward to seeing how Aliens turns out. Sawyer was always an interesting designer. I'd love to see him actually get to finish a game as lead designer (IWD2 doesn't count because Herve was screwing their shit up).

"Guys....all we're showing you is this console action game stuff....but remember...it's an RPG first and foremost. Now let's get more shots of guns, martial arts, and babes."

"Oh this bullet time power and this unlimited ammo power is totally in the setting and not stupid. I mean, it's a spy movie setting and sometimes dumb spy movies have people shoot way more ammo than in the clip so it's totally fitting and not just us making a really dumb mechanic because we've never made an action game before."

"We use the three JB archetypes to illustrate how totally different our game can be played. Not because all three often have copious amounts of shooting in their respective stories just like our game."

"Even though this is our first foray into action gaming, it's going to be totally awesome. We know exactly what we're doing here with absolutely no experience. That's the power of concentrated hopechange!"

"Sega is widely regarded as one of the worst publishers in the industry, pushing out terrible drek, cashing in on hype, and running established, storied franchises into the ground. We at Obsidian however know our way around publishers and would never be bullied, or have our game's content be slashed apart by a publisher's whims."

Because Aliens of all things, wouldn't be a console action game?
