<LE-Stephan> Regarding ArcoMage: Straight forward: No - ArcoMage won´t be in MMX. We are focusing on a lot of other stuff (and it is really a lot) so ArcoMage is not planned.

There's a small chance (insider info omg lol) that we might see it as DLC at one point, though. Considering the small scope of the game, I'd say that's one of the fair cases of DLC, especially if it's implemented as a tournament-quest, you having to win in all inns and perhaps a few other places to become arcomage champion.

Otherwise, perhaps a mod? Arcomage itself isn't a protected IP I think. At least not the core rules which are emulated legally many places online.

mindx2 giving them a hard time with those dumbing down questions

Sad to hear I missed that, lol.
Their answers were actually encouraging. They stated NO LEVEL-SCALING, if you go too far when your a low level party you will die... NO QUEST COMPASS, however map markers will appear when you are close to quest areas, dungeons, etc... you can turn off some "hand-holding" options but they didn't specify exactly which ones except "hints" given at the beginning of the game.

^ I logged in to the question on level scaling. I think they dodged Melnorme's great question a bit, sounds like environment-blocking won't be a big thing.

Last two bits of info that I liked was that there will be a physical Collector's Edition available and that the devs stated they frequent our prestigious magazine site regularly...

Melnorme is me. And yeah, maybe they did - it doesn't surprise me, I don't think we can expect the Xeen level of "daisy-chaining" gameplay in this game. There'll probably be some of that stuff, but I doubt it will be as ubiquitous.

FYI, the live IRC chat with the developers is starting soon (the channel is already open). I'll post a transcript after it ends for those who can't attend.

Go ahead and post it. ;) Bonus points if you edit it to a readable Q&A.

Here it is, just a raw IRC log though: http://pastebin.com/95YKDbRy

If I have time later (at work currently) I'll edit it into a Q&A format.

Yeah :) I'm curious about the landscape in the background, a wood at early night? (the time icon would suggest otherwise) I miss paperdolls, but it makes sense, with their low budget to drop it...
I'd like to see a skill tab, why it is missing here?

ou know how important exploration is for your gaming experience. Or how unimportant, if you're not so much into exploring
If you're not into exploring then you shouldn't be playing Might and Magic and anything you have to say about a game in the series can be safely ignored.

I can't say I object to anything else in that post, but most of it is so obvious that I'm shocked it even needs mentioning or discussing. At least there seems to be some sharp incline in the feedback. I'm getting more and more wary as MMX development advances, but so far I have to say it looks really promising.

That looks really good. Contrast that to the recent Wasteland 2 menu/UI shots and this is just about perfect.

It looks just like the Duel of Champions UI, guess they really go for consistence.
