A sharp blunt weapon. I see nothing wrong with that.
Can't wait for them to release SWTOR so Bioware will stop making RPGs.

There might be a problem. You are prohibited from killing guards by the Maker himself. You really have to avoid being seen.
*headdesk* THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU KILL THAT GUARD BEFORE??? Because it was "awesome", of course.

face-hawkeaug.jpg

Even though Human Constipation had many flaws, it doesn't deserve this, in this DLC the "stealth" sections are absolutely retarded.

The elf was qunari.

:retarded:

Didn't elves hate the Qunari and viceversa??

I read about it on the wall of a latrine.
Considering how incompetent she is, that may be for real.

Lastly but not least, I vote B.

The issue the elves have is yet another way for the eleven heritage being destroyed, there is no reason to the Qunari to treat elves any different that any other non-Qunari as the elven nation had long been destroyed before they even set foot on Thedas.

The real question is why the fuck are we helping a member of the Qunari Stasi and its not going to get better when you learn what will be going down, this is a example of "the option of killing should be here".

Hawke was nice enough to let the other prisoners escape.

da2lp65-01.jpg

Prosper's riches, ready for plundering.

da2lp65-02.jpg

da2lp65-03.jpg

Need to get access first. The overall scheme is simple: when you touch f.e. a white rune you are capable of opening white doors and so on. This might present a challenge with a smaller party, but it's hardly an obstacle for a quartet of adventurers.

da2lp65-04.jpg

da2lp65-05.jpg

da2lp65-06.jpg

da2lp65-07.jpg

Weak golem served as a guardian of the final rune.

da2lp65-08.jpg

da2lp65-09.jpg

da2lp65-10.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
Maybe I'm going crazy, but there's something... odd about that painting. What do you think, Hawke?

It's a key to lowering magic wards around the treasure. Note the masked and the faceless dudes - they form a pattern that corresponds with positions of tiles that need to be flipped.

da2lp65-11.jpg

Note that it's possible to mix the runes to get different colors. Here, a green rune opened a small room filled with loot.

da2lp65-12.jpg

da2lp65-13.jpg

Yeah, the same picture as reference.

da2lp65-14.jpg

da2lp65-15.jpg

By flipping the floor tiles.

da2lp65-16.jpg

The first barrier's down. Two more remained.

Dissolving the second barrier was nearly identical, again linked to using colored runes.

da2lp65-17.jpg

da2lp65-18.jpg

da2lp65-19.jpg

da2lp65-20.jpg

Got a second clue.

da2lp65-21.jpg

Mixed the purple color and sacked what was left.

da2lp65-22.jpg

da2lp65-23.jpg

da2lp65-24.jpg

And disabled the second ward.

da2lp65-25.jpg

New armor set. Nice.

da2lp65-26.jpg

The last puzzle consists of flipping floor tiles to reveal duke's portrait. The difficulty lies in the pact that when you step on a tile all the neighboring tiles are flipped as well.

da2lp65-27.jpg

da2lp65-28.jpg

da2lp65-29.jpg

da2lp65-30.jpg

da2lp65-31.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
Well that's... Orlesian.

The last ward was disabled and the armor set went to Hawke's inventory. It should be noted that despite the leveled stats it uses exactly the same model as the Warden-Commander's armor in the first DA. So much for new graphics, lol.

da2lp65-32.jpg

da2lp65-33.jpg

With new fancy shit added to his collection Hawke was prepared to face the man himself.

da2lp65-34.jpg

da2lp65-35.jpg

da2lp65-36.jpg

That time ambush had no effect, because the door behind wasn't locked.

face-hawke65.jpg
You should have killed me when you had the chance.
face-prosper.jpg
I agree. Thankfully I have an opportunity to rectify that mistake.
face-tallis.jpg
Just let him go, Prosper. It's me you want.
face-prosper.jpg
What I want is to ensure you cannot further hinder my plans.
face-prosper.jpg
Do your job and kill them, Chasind. Is that not why I keep you around?

da2lp65-37.jpg

Like a generic B-movie villain he just turned his back and left the task of killing his arch-enemies on hapless minions.

face-cahir.jpg
That is it. Hold them. I'm releasing the pets.

da2lp65-38.jpg

da2lp65-39.jpg

da2lp65-40.jpg

So that's it: battle harlequins. Like Thedas wasn't enough of a Warhammer rip-off already. :M

Baddies don't stand a chance being stuck in a narrow doorway, no matter the numbers.

da2lp65-41.jpg

da2lp65-42.jpg

da2lp65-43.jpg

da2lp65-44.jpg

face-hawke65.jpg
I don't think we're getting out this way now.
face-tallis.jpg
We'll have to go back down and through the caves I mentioned before.
face-tallis.jpg
Although I wonder why the duke's bodyguard ran off like that.
face-hawke65.jpg
He didn't want to die.
face-tallis.jpg
I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

Olololol, the alternative ways to complete a mission? Not in my Dragon age.

So the last painting for Bethany.

da2lp65-45.jpg

face-bethany.jpg
I think that's enough. I wonder, I wouldn't be the first Warden to have a portrait done...
face-bethany.jpg
Oh, but I didn't see this before. There are directions on the backs of them...

Oh yeah, like if I fucking need any money given that there will be no merchants further ahead.

da2lp65-46.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
See? Caves. Just like I said.
face-merrill.jpg
It looks a bit spooky, doesn't it?
face-hawke65.jpg
How did you know about this?
face-tallis.jpg
I stole old plans, from the Fourth Blight. This was a Retreat, they called it.
face-tallis.jpg
At any rate, there's an exit that leads out onto the mountainside. That's your way out.

da2lp65-47.jpg

YES!

da2lp65-48.jpg

da2lp65-49.jpg

da2lp65-50.jpg

face-merrill.jpg
I'm glad my clan never camped here.
face-hawke65.jpg
Now we know where the ghasts came from.
face-tallis.jpg
We'll have to fight through them. At least they'll slow down the duke's men as well.

Thwack ye, underground dwellers!

da2lp65-51.jpg

da2lp65-52.jpg

da2lp65-53.jpg

da2lp65-54.jpg

face-bethany.jpg
This has to be the place the directions were leading us to!

So some dude stashed a few coins in a monster-infested cavern? Makes sense.

da2lp65-55.jpg

da2lp65-56.jpg

face-hawke65.jpg
There's a lake? In the middle of the mountain?
face-tallis.jpg
The Retreat needed to house hundreds of people during the Blight, if not thousands. Can't do that without fresh water.
face-hawke65.jpg
But... it's an entire lake.
face-tallis.jpg
Oh that. I have no idea.

The exit was in reach, but...

da2lp65-57.jpg

Betrayal! The grate closed and the way to the castle was cut off as well.

face-tallis.jpg
Trust me.

da2lp65-58.jpg

Ah, and there stood the bodyguard. Perhaps there had been a conspiracy involved?

da2lp65-59.jpg

face-cahir.jpg
The Circle are not the only ones who know how to break a mage.
face-hawke65.jpg
You're prepared to die for a man like Prosper?
face-cahir.jpg
I do not fight for him.
face-cahir.jpg
The duke is a fool. His enemies, a posturing, guileless lot. But you are worth testing.
face-cahir.jpg
Prosper can fight his own battles. And I shall choose mine.

I didn't ask for this, you did!

da2lp65-60.jpg

da2lp65-61.jpg

da2lp65-62.jpg

A dagger flew right past barbarian's face.

da2lp65-63.jpg

Pump up ur throwing skill, FFS.

da2lp65-64.jpg

da2lp65-65.jpg

In the meantime the barbarian received reinforcement. Hawke would have killed him already of not untimely Felicia's intervention.

da2lp65-66.jpg

da2lp65-67.jpg

da2lp65-68.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
Well! That was bracing.
face-hawke65.jpg
I thought you'd left.
face-tallis.jpg
Nonsense. I found a way around. I said I'd get you out of here and I meant it.
face-tallis.jpg
Let's keep going. The exit can't be much further.

da2lp65-69.jpg

:what:

face-merrill.jpg
Hawke... have you ever thought about planting a garden?
face-hawke65.jpg
I hadn't really. Why?
face-merrill.jpg
Things seem so grim all the time. You could use a few flowers.

da2lp65-70.jpg

da2lp65-71.jpg

da2lp65-72.jpg

da2lp65-73.jpg

The last obstacle had been dealt with.

da2lp65-74.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
And there's the way out.
face-tallis.jpg
See? I told you I had a plan. It was a good plan, the kind that had an escape and everything.
face-hawke65.jpg
Should lead out to the mountainside.
face-tallis.jpg
So you could go. There are, however... other options.

da2lp65-75.jpg

da2lp65-76.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
But we've been through so much together? Wyvern hunts, betrayals, daring escapes from prison...

da2lp65-77.jpg

face-tallis.jpg
Laughs So it's true what they say about you.
face-tallis.jpg
I know you think I lied to you. Well... I did lie to you, but I'm hoping you can look past that.
face-tallis.jpg
What Salit is going to do will harm so many innocents -- my people as well as yours.
face-tallis.jpg
It's my duty to stop him. Even so, I can't do it alone. Not anymore.
face-hawke65.jpg
You've made your argument. What am I supposed to do with it?
face-tallis.jpg
Whatever you decide. I'd be a fool to have a reluctant partner at my back.
face-tallis.jpg
I get the feeling you're... an exceptional person, Hawke. Here's your chance to prove it.

da2lp65-78.jpg

So this is the last choice you can make here, bros.

Shall we:

a) go right and help Felicia.

or

b) Say "fuck all" and escape alone.

Discuss!

Ok, that's now sad, pitiful, so shit it's not worth raging. About the choice, I say B, fuck Talis and escape (although that may provoke an abrupt end to this DLC...)

If I were Hawke, then (1) I would hate myself and (2) I would tell Tallis to fuck off.

But since it's likely that the rest of the LP will be more entertaining (intentionally or not) if you go with her, I'm voting A.

Its Bioware, whatever option you pick leads to the same path.

Also wait until you see what Salit is going to do, I like her use of "innocent" ... serious, who the fuck wrote this sit?

And help he did.

In other words, A! We need to witness another cheesy Biowarean romance! That's the whole purpose of the LP!

Elves are inherently better than you. Thus, if we think an elf is fugly it just means our tastes and the things we enjoy are too primitive and base to understand the greatness of the elf in question.

:rpgcodex: Common knowledge, that is.

DA2's elves are not true elves, they're Na'vis with a different skin, but they don't fool anyone :M

PS: What's your opinion about half-elves, BC?

It depends. If they understand and accept their place as partly animal beings, and see the kindness their elven overlords show by forgiving their existence, they can be allowed to live. Even the great elven kingdoms need someone to wash and scrub the bathrooms, pick up the garbage, and broom the floor. If they are pretty enough and have long enough and pointy enough ears I guess we can even let them rule humans in the stead of the highborn, as it always was suposed to be: The high lords in their blessed lands, demigods in the thrones of the mortal world, and those ugly brutish creatures in the fields.

Gnomes make for better pets, though.

A. You must not leave in the middle of a trainwreck, but watch as it unfolds with morbid curiousity.

But do B as well, so we can see if it actually changes anything.

Awesome augmentations, Twinkle.

Though it likely won't matter anyway as racofer pointed out, let's go for "A" since "B" seems likely to fold into it at the end. Cheesy BioWarian Romance Scenario #21C must be revealed. We've made it this far!

And the whole 'jewel' twist...

The one I expected to find is named Salit, a member of the Ben-Hassrath... the Heart of Many.

...tells me Gaider must have watched...

-The-Jewel-of-the-Nile-(Widescreen).jpg

...which means Hawke and Co. will be fighting this guy...

the-jewel-of-the-nile-poster.jpg

Maybe. Can't wait to see what happens next!
