Awww... guys, You're breaking my heart kicking my balls. And here I was reading historical accounts, trying to make this LP as as possible by introducing a historical figure, a plot twist and a 'secrit' puzzle, and you shun off my efforts. You have no heart

Truth be told this seemed a good idea when I started writing it, it was ok when I finished and posted and become totally abysmal when I woke up this morning and remember WHAT I'd written (even before browsing the 'Dex), though I still find some ideas (you have not spotted ) to be interesting... but not fitting this LP .

By the way, it was eh,... not really me who I was Larping. Had you read carefully you'd know that.

Also, on accusation that I dare to make the character more badass than Rance... Rance's badassery stems from his insolence, ferociousness, deviousness, and unquenched thirst for sex mixed with a degree of honour and competence, rather than his martial prowess. The devs knew it the best and instead of making him yet another brainless bioware hunk who is always victorious because... welll... he is, they added fatal flaws that sometimes render him powerless. Overweight Manatee be my witness here there are at least two instances in the game where Rance's egocentrism causes him to have his arse handed over to him by his betters. I merely joined that two instances into one event.

All of this still does not excuse the intro that turned out ineffective and boring since you people skipped it. Mea Culpa I'm not good enough writer... And no, you're right this is motherfucking RPGCodex not some otaku porn fanfic of mrowak.

I think I've said that I will not cover all events which were shown in WhiskeyWolf's thread. If you want to see the same generic pics of girls getting raped you've seen already that can be done, but I don't feel like posting the same thing in full, especially with all the dialogues... when the same thing can be read somewhere else.

Once we hit Kenshin's route things will change, however.

And yes the disturbing lack of sex in this LP is what caused me to acquire copy of Rance 6 - some sexy pics from it have already been posted, didn't you notice Luzur? (They were the few tastefull ones. If you thought Sengoku Rance was tasteless, see Rance 6... or better not)

There will be more of them as we progress through the first part but don't count on me giving you full dialogues - I understand maybe every 40th word so translating shit won't happen (ask me in a year's time) Larping them for you is also no dice. I and my girlfriend do not have enough... - ehm... - creativity to simulate Rance's endavours (some stuff is really sick!), and even if we had there's no way I'd employ it to write a LP. Rance certainly wouldn't

On the bright side next updates will be more extensive, keep the fluff to the minimum, cover more stuff and we will reach our goal quicker. With the new 'enhanced' compact editions we should be there oww... in two updates. Which will happen after Christmas.

. As to five stars, those battles are fucking insane already.

Nahhh, they are managable and fun - you just need to utilise your characters' abilities to maximum. Essentially that means knowing game mechanics, knowing units' strength and weaknesses in the given context, knowing where to find strong commanders, 'scouting' before the battles, and frequent praying to Lord Almighty so that that cavalery unit does not get initiative before your diviners can cast protective shield on everyone.

The game can get frustrating though. Partially on account of that I added youkais as a bonus. Getting all of them in 5 star playthrough is possible but really rage inducing - not because battles are tough (though fighting 6000> Omachi unit protected by footsoldiers is kinda overkill) but capturing units (i.e. after they were annihilated) here is much more difficult for some arbitrary reason... which you will all see in due time :/

The 5 star game is clearly created to take full advantage of all bonus points you got during your previous playthroughs.

5 Star isn't nearly as hard as the pure army numbers make it out to be. According to the alicesoft wiki troops beyond 500 and 2000 add increasingly little to a units strength. A character with 9 in stats can effectively double or triple the strength of a unit compared to a low statted unit, while a 4000 strength unit only has a little over double the power of a 1000 unit army. So its not impossible to go head to head with most armies, but abusing the battle meter while playing defensively is just a lot easier and safer money-wise.

Course, that doesn't make it easy. When you run up against strong commanders you really feel the hurt (though intelligent use of protection shikigami helps this). Hit-all enemies or those with the ability to bypass blocking as especially bad. And then you have Takeda, whose strong commanders + fuurinkazan + naturally strong cavalry + ability to hit the back row means that their blitz is AFAIK completely impossible to hold off unless you super grind or save scum for hours.

5 star for you bro... When you have to be able skillfully manage your forces and resources for enemy counterattacks (up to 3 from each of your enemies) as well as constantly increase your national power (action fans and capable defenders, bye bye) you'll find it hard to rush. So what you'll secure two footholds when you won't have men to defend them? So what you have gold to buy new recruits when you have no national power to support them.

Goddamn, bringing down those youkai took a lot of effort - their first province has so many defence points and they themselves so many action fans that it was road through hell to finally rid of them.

Did I also mention that half of the map wants to wage war on you and the only way to prevent them is using diplomacy? (Again action fan + a few 'diplomats') which only delays the inevitable (2-5 turns each time).

Anyways, are we in any hurry?

Besides - I'm afflicted with completionsit curse. And we're going to lag to turn 86 until we reach Kenshin's route. But it'll be all in one quick update.

That way you will skip the stuff already covered and focus on plot development for your route... Additionally we will start our respective paths with the same forces. But of course it's your call.

In my previous game I lost Fuuka combating the bastards - I didn't reload after that forgetting that you require to have her to fight Orochi.

Also the defence you all saw was maybe 15th consequtive I fought with Takeda (I lost the others at some point) and the second successful one (I didn't make enough pics during my first successful attempt). Indeed, somehow luck was on my side and no one died.

It, like many other H-pics, comes from Rance 6. I try to play it from time to time when I'm in the right mood. Japanese proved insurmountable barrier to me though. I understand maybe every 40th word... and that's streathing things.

On the side note, I generally self-teach myself stuff (including English) but Japanese is just to difficult to learn on your own... Kinda wish I didn't live on a province - I would enroll for some course then...
