Not neccesarily. There are some studios that have actual good writers, and if they decide to make a game with dialog then these people will have a chance to show off their writing skills.

the allegedly darker atmosphere basically boils down to every raider or super mutants encampment being randomly filled with mutilated body parts, "gore sacks", and displayed corpses. as there are quite many of raider and/or super mutant infested locations, this technique results in sensory overloading, achieving the complete opposite, making those sceneries of murder and (probably) cannibalism seem uninteresting to funny, which brings me to the conclusion that it is, in fact, quite gay, and one of the dumbest design decisions i have ever witnessed, thus proving that current bethesda employees working on level/area design are all fags.

Game INDUSTRY. There's a reason why they call it an 'industry' nowadays. Industry deals with meeting the estimated demand with supply, all of this for profit. The portion of market with biggest buyers is full of console kiddies or consumerist morons. The INDUSTRY will cater to their needs.
Our needs are a niche and will be supplied by smaller developers like Iron Tower, Spiderweb etc, who will do so either because of ideals or because they lack the financial means to get inside the major league.

Fallout 3 has a low fantasy setting.

A game having a fantasy setting or not, being low or high fantasy doesn't make it good or bad. It's how you handle this setting. Look at Obsidian and post-NWN1 Bioware how they turned the awesome FR to the most generic and boring setting.

Unfortunately the thing with multiple endings has turned so bad in recent years that as upward the number of endings goes - downward the quality of the game falls. This results in over-complicated dumb-downess for a dumb generation that likes to complicate the wrong things. And you're a perfect example of it. Everything needs to have multiple fucking endings nowadays. What was so wrong with all those older games that didn't need such bullshit to be great?What's next, multiple endings in racing games and fucking soccer simulators?.

There are tons of games that have all you mention - and more - and still suck. Again it's not the subject matter, but how you handle it. So magic - no magic, original property or licensed, it's not what makes the difference.
