If you look at the first page, I leave a semi-serious post in response to the OP which was about demoting Trash, and minutes later I remark that the thread and poll were edited to look like something stupid.

3. I'm pretty sure you were losing the poll - and if your reliance is on polls, then I'd wager that if I were to run a poll like, say, "Should FretRider be banned" a majority would vote "yes". Just like 61% have in this poll.

The poll was edited so quickly, it never had a chance to actually gain votes. It's like, the split second someone sees anything negative being said about a moderator/administrator on this forum, it is immediately edited/deleted/nuked/dismembered/exorcised. As if the mods/admins live in permanent mortal fear of someone making fun of them, and compulsively scour the forums for signs of dissidence.

No the tag was removed. Don't know why and didn't ask but it disappeared one day while I was still using that account. I was gone for quite a while and only returned a few months after the website transition. I don't know why I couldn't access the accounts, they had been fine before I left and I no longer have access to the original webmail I used to register, that's why I created a new one.

If anybody is actually that sad that they're interested you can look back through the archives and see. I have better things to do, some people are obsessed and desperate for any kind of excitement they invent conspiracy theories about other Codexers, usually reality is much more boring.

Even if some people have created alts (like Bryce) it really just isn't that interesting. I helped unmask one of his alts with about 30 minutes googling and still play along pretending I know/care but it was already boring 4 years ago. Yes, there is a fundamental tension between high effort posting and the need to have an active politics forum with threads about the most interesting issues of the day. If there aren't threads about the issues of the day, the forum is dead and boring. But it in a forum with only moderate traffic it is unrealistic to expect someone to step up with a high effort post for all of the important issues of the day. Because there are a lot of issues and a limited number of effortposters.

Guido provided a valuable service to the politics forum by starting many threads about relevant issues. This required some level of repetition and volume posting. It also skewed his numbers towards the politics forum.
