What are your picks? Warcraft, Warhammer, Warlords battle cry, Myth?

Warlords Battlecry 3 for the fun factor. Screw balance. Insane singleplayer nonsense for the win.

Thanks for all the replies. Has anyone here played Nordic warriors or Shadow tactics?

Shadow Tactics is not a RTT/RTS but an infiltration game. I did not like it but I am an outlier.

I haven’t played Nordic Warriors.

You ask a lot of non sequitur questions. Are we helping your market research ?

Haha, no I just wanted to get the opinions and experiences of the codex on these types of games, that's all.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I would say it falls under "real time tactics" umbrella.

By the way, the Kohan games (Immortal Sovereigns and Ahriman's Gift) were nice RTS experience. Not the best games of all time (hence I did not mention them previously), but they gave that sense of grand scale when playing on large maps and it was fun to watch dozens of units battle together in big battles.

What would you consider the difference between RTT and a skirmish?
To me a skirmish in games as such always referred to a quick scenario (usually a multiplayer one, although you could play against the AI) more than anything else.

In an RTS a skirmish would be a small-scale/limited fight between fleet/armies (or their "lesser" elements). Something like sending a few units to harras the enemy or trying to initiate a battle only to decide to put back.

Real time tactics is about employing tactics in real time. This is why I consider Commandos (or Desperados) a RTT, not an RTS, which suits games like Lords of the Realm II or Imperium Galactica more.

Ok thanks, I've seen people refer to the Myth games as skirmish games and not true RTT

Why do newfags always insist on inventing new terms for perfectly well-established games? Myth is a fucking RTS, not a "SKIRMISH GAME" or whatever the fuck.

Reminds me of the whole IMMERSIVE SIM bullshit. Fuck off

I bought it on sale from steam recently and will at it eventually. It was supposed to have multi player also but looks like that's never happening.
