Thats realy sad. I liked the EE Version very much and planed to buy the EE für BG2.

Now i have to install the terrible BGT Version again :(
Or just Tutu which was already a perfectly executed way of playing Baldur's Gate in the Baldur's Gate 2 engine...

That's probably something that shouldn't be discussed outside of the staff forum (unless you inquired through public channels).

HAHAHAH YESSSSSSSSSS

Justice is served

That said the upcoming patch does look like it will make the current BGEE tolerable, but tbh that shit should have been in on release.

Are you implying that this patch will break previous trends and not introduce as many new bugs as they are attempting to patch out?

The schadenfreude is delicious here. I really wonder what the "contractual issues" they had were. I sincerely hope this means the end of BG2: EE and no chance of them fucking with BG at all anymore, nor any other IE games for that matter.

Why? It's been mentioned in three other posts throughout this thread. First in a discussion with waywardone.

I see no reason not to publicly shame these guys for pussying out because we asked two very critical questions.

It has come to my attention that people in the industry know exactly why this happened. Hopefully there will be a leak soon.

LOL

I've been banned on the Baldur's Gate forums for saying the following

Owned.

I am sorry guys but Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition was terrible. The stock game was good enough, and nothing about your version made the game "Enhanced" at all. More like Encumbered edition. BGT is way better than your version.

Yes it was unlucky that you weren't able to get the source art files, and that probably killed all of your plans.

I'm sorry but I really hope you don't get to do a Baldur's Gate 3.

Every version of the patch has introduced more bugs than the previous one, in my experience.

The selection circles in BGEE are shit, I don't like the different colors and they are blurry and terrible compared to the original selection circles which are nice and solid and clear.

The OpenGL graphics are terrible. The game is blurrier than the DirectDraw original. The Zoom feature is fucking pointless because the default zoom and close zoom levels are stretching the source art beyond their intended viewing margin and thus look like garbage.

The new areas are also blurry and terrible as well. Abymsal job.

The sound sets are a different volume to the originals and sound completely different.

The new portraits aren't even in the same art style as the original. Mind you I really enjoyed Jason Manley's work on Icewind Dale but I don't like the new BGEE portraits.

The Black Pits is just a combat challenge thing, it's a copout installment to the game.

Kits and Items etc do not matter. Anyone can make those.

Love all the Infinity Engine Games. Hate Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition.

and @Chow I came back just to post my happiness about the game being shelved because Overhaul would have ruined the series.

Sayonara.

Bunch of sore losers. I wouldn't have been banned on the Obsidian forums for saying that. Sweet Butthurt is sweet.

Forum users rated my posts as "Abusive", that's it. Messages haven't been removed ... yet.

Seems as though Atari is selling the D&D video game license though.
