Okay, we've got a little contest to do. Our first one here at this site. Basically, here's what you have to do to win one of three copies of Silent Storm, the soon to be released World War II themed tactical, mission based CRPG.

Make a World War 2 themed propeganda poster advertising Silent Storm, then email it to me by next Thursday, January 15th 2004. We'll pick the winners on Friday, gather their addresses up, and fire them off to Encore Software. They'll then send you the copy.

The rules would be not to use any trademarks other than Silent Storm stuff. Nothing involving naughty bits, either. Entries are to be in JPEG format. Only those living in the United States and Canada are eligible due to shipping stuff.

So, get photoshopping, GIMPing, or whatever thing you use to edit pictures up.
As long as it's a JPEG, I'm fine with most anything. Though, I could get cranky if it's over 300k and have to compress it some myself.

You're Swedish anyways. This contest is only open to American and Canadian entries.

Yea, and you're a monkey-islander.

Also what's the judging critieria for this little contest thingy?

Err I dont get it, do you use screenshots of the game for the propeganda, or just no copyright protected stuff allowed except Silent Storm stuff?

Seven9: I guess whichever one we like the most. If your entry is funny, good. If your entry is smart, good. If your entry is a real groaner of a pun, good. If your entry is just a really pretty image, good.

HanoverF: You take propaganda posters (think the stuff from FO 1&2's intro movies) and edit them to advertise Silent Storm. Copyrighted materials is logos and stuff. You ought to be okay generally, but the idea is that you're allowed to use Silent Storm stuff.

I gotta tell you guys something before you send us anything, though.

That is, please make it a genuine effort. Please don't submit some half-assed graphic you did in 10 minutes in MS Paint and expect to win, because you won't. Even if we don't get many submissions, anyone who tries to pull that shit won't win a damn thing because he sure as hell wouldn't deserve it.

So once again, please put some effort in your work. It doesn't have to be the best, but it should look -good-. That means no lame-ass cropping of heads copied-and-pasted on someone else's body without bothering to smoothen the edges like the kind of crap you see on FARK.com. For those of you who submit pictures like those, your only prize is scorn.

Here's my opinion: If we get 20 submissions and 19 of them look like they were yanked out of the pages of FARK, the 1 guy who put actual effort into his work will get all 3 copies. But that's just my opinion.

Once again people, EFFORT.

update on my opinion:

If you make two good pictures, you get two good copies. But that's only if all the other submissions suck. Come on people, I wanna see some effort.

Bastards! Denying us europeans a fair chance of winning eh?

Yet another example of trans-atlantic arrogance!

Then again, s2 has been in stores here for months......

Nice, too bad that I've owned the game for months.

quick question, have you experienced and sound problems with S2 since you have owned it, I have been having some serious *issues* of late I have been trying to troubleshoot
I will start another thread about this to get some other opinions...but IF you have no sound problems can you tell me, what your audio setup is and can you play back sound or music files with a third party music player (windows media player, real player, etc)
for the game directory? (they are in the RES file)

thanks-

Well, the contest is offered by the North American publisher of the game. It would be a little odd for them to ship the game to Europe where someone else is publishing.
