    From Durlag's Tower, maybe? :D The original BG3 project didn't had anything to do with Bhaalspawns at all... it was going to be a whole new story. I'd say that Dragon Age was the nearest we could get to BG3... but that's another story.

    Yes, but you have a fixated tactic for each fight. Before learning those spells you have to make every sling bullet count.

    I tend to prefer low/mid level adventures, specially in D&D. When you can cast Cloudkill, Greater Malison or Chaos as many times as you want, fun (and therefore challenge) ends.

    They were going to add a significant (as in way too high) number of words to BG2EE. I bet half of those will go to romyns and the other half to Minsc and Boo (which is also a romyns, in the end).

    I played FIFA 94 (or whatever it was that first game), 99, 2002, 2003 and 2005 and they all suffered from the same fatal flaw: stupid controls. Still, some of them had nice soundtracks. So yeah.

    4 or 7. 1 Can be too archaic and weird for you (see Spoony's review on that), 5 and 6 kinda require you to play 4 for plot reasons. 8 might be a good start if you like Diablo.     To be honest I prefer to have wide options in the character creation process (both in sex and race) than forcing medieval bandits to learn some gender theories and respect the feelings and the bodies of the women they assault. I'm in for realism.

    For me it worked like a quest compass. As far as I remember, it actually had annotations like "next quest here" or something like that.

    That is correct. The new version of the first Avernum even features a quest compass. You're told what is happening every time, while in the older games you had to figure out by yourself. Still, I find that the character creation process went downhill in more recent games.

    PokemonGeneforge is a nice game. It's such a pity that Vogel is making his games easier and easier every time.
