KickStarter Mediocre Monster - an RPG where you play the role of the monster instead of the heroes

If you have played the Final Fantasy, Suikoden and Breath of Fire series, you will like this game's concept. Basically it is an RPG (or rpg simulation if you will) where you take the role of Gob, a young goblin whose official job is a professional random monster. Unknown to heroes, monsters are...

Are you a Storyfag or a Gameplayfag?

Gamerfag. There are few games with great story anyway.

Prosper Slashy Souls, Dark Souls endless runner mobile spin-off from Gamestop!!

Why do they call it "Slashy". First time I heard that term to be used haha.

What game are you wasting time on?

I'm wasting my time on Dota 2 (thousands of hours already) playing with my friends and XCOM trying to get all achievements (still a long ways to go). I also waste my time on Civ5 using several mods and trying playing as different nations.

    Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

It's a shame the event production is very shit. Good thing the games so far are great but these delays and pauses are really momentum-breaking.

    Atlus Persona 5

I wasn't annoyed when they used honorifics in P4. Probably because I encounter them on a regular basis. Besides, it's appropriate and fitting in the Japanese school setting.

Anime JRPG combat vs western blobber style combat - Why all the hate?

I like both. It really depends on the game's atmosphere. I admit for the very first time I played FF7 I was really turned off by the battle system (cloud teleports to the enemies) but it grows on you.

    Premade vs. generic protagonist

I want a little mix of both. Premade characters can be awesome if the story is engaging and the character is likeable.

If a game has an awful release but becomes great after patches...

It should be rated separately. The base game is different from the patched game after all.

Good RPG puzzles vs bad ones

It just might be my 14 year old self talking but I loved solving Tales of Destiny's puzzles. There is a stage where you have to flood and unflood the floor as well as push blocks in order to proceed to the next part. There are many random encounters that made it annoying but my young self took...

What systems do you hate in rpgs that other people love

Restrictive saves (no saving in combat or inclusion of save points) Extremely story heavy narrative with lots of cut scenes I only don't like these two. I feel restricting saves can get annoying at times. Extremely story heavy narrative also has a tendency to drag on and on and it does not...
