  1. how many jrpgs have you finished?

Three. Final Fantasy VII - Played it when it came out on PC. Tolerable if you can enjoy somewhat varied grinding and looting (I used to). Design and writing are mostly abysmal, though. This was the first and the last game ever I eventually found myself clicking through the "plot"-parts...
  2. Things that designers love, but gamers hate

    Invisible walls.
  3. Review Zero Punctuation: The Escapist still hates The Witcher

He's getting paid for it. But all he did was saying "Fuck this shit. This game sucks and everyone who likes it sucks. I can't be even bothered to play it. Instead, I'll go and dub over the painkiller intro." Failture.
  4. The Witcher 1 Thread

    I had the same "problem".
  5. Biggest Disappointments

I'll limit it to games I actually (sorta) finished, despite their shortcomings. 5. Gothic 3 - Not really bad, but certainly a lot of wasted potential. 4. Lionheart - Just plain dull. 3. Ultima 8 - How could we go from Ultima 7 to... this? 2. Ultima 9 - A shallow action-rpg that...
  6. Duke Nukem Forever is alive!

...and then hell froze over. ALERT THE INTERNET! But seriously: We already had a perfectly fine trailer six years ago. No reason to be excited. Yet.
  7. I'm the only one that thinks that ALL MMORPG sucks??

Until someone comes up with a MMORPG that is not the equivalent of running in a thread mill for countless hours while getting charged money for it, I'm not even remotely interested in them.
  8. Two Worlds

You should try using the evade button ('q'). Combat was a nuisance before I found out about it and now it's actually fun most of the time. I'm enjoying it so far. Yes, the plot is flat and clichee, and yes, there is practically no role playing involved. But hey, hardly any so-called role...
  9. Preview Gothic 3 preview at IGN

I like how he automatically assumed that "find Xardas" means you have to kill him. Probably because he has a "X" in his name. :)
  10. VD's Gothic 3 impressions

New patch. ChangeLog: Build 1.09 ---------- - Fixed out of memory bug when saving Thats it. :P http://update.gothic3.com/
  11. The first RPG moments you guys/gals had...

First RPG ever played -Adventure on the Atari 2600 probably doesn't count, so I guess it'll have to be some horrible dungeon hack on c64 datasette, back in ye olde days of yonder. The name sliped me at the moment, but I vividly remember how thoroughly disapointed I was. First RPG that brought...
  12. VD's Gothic 3 impressions

No. The manual mentions something about the orcish families waiting in the grlaciers of the far north for their men to return with teh phat loot or something like that.
  13. VD's Gothic 3 impressions

There are also two or three female warriors in Nordmar. Strangely though, they spout the same lines as the female slaves.
  14. Review Gothic 3 trashed at Rewired Mind - 2/10

Hahaha. This statement makes one wonder for how many minutes exactly he's been playing the game. Probably started it, got his ass kicked by a boar, decided to hate it, read some stuff about it on the internet and based on this he wrote his... well, let's call it "review".
  15. VD's Gothic 3 impressions

This really sucks. So everyone who bought the game on release day and doesn't want to start all over again will be stuck with rusty swords and scrolls of light for the rest of the game? Way to punish your most loyal customers, PB. Making a workaround for this can't be that hard. :(
