  1. The Great Renaming, poll #2 [POLL CLOSED, GAME RENAMED]

I'll echo that. From working with publishers (literature) and film companies and knowing of their experiences - you really want to avoid a title that is hard to search for - it'll simply vanish in the search engine index initially and you'll have to fight the algorithms to change that.[1] Just...
  2. Interview Wasteland 2 Interview with Brian Fargo at Ripten

If only there was anything like choice for those that produce media like that involved. Am not in the gaming industry, but a field with similar funding methods and ... well, no, you don't choose. You pitch your ideas around and hope. Most big funders are very likely disinterested so you take...
  3. PAY FOR TORRENTED GAMES AT GOG.COM

Except that GoG, up to this point, is not yet some soulless corporation. And to be honest I don't care much. GoG's not doing much harm. KFC is still on a quite different level. At the point I am in my life legality is something that I am happy to pay for. Especially as GoG's pricing is peanuts.
  4. PAY FOR TORRENTED GAMES AT GOG.COM

What you get from GoG is legality. You pay for a license and a version of the software that has been approved by the current rights owner. So no, you are not "essentially" paying for something you would/could get for free.
  5. Review VD holds forth on Dragon Age Quest Design

Coming from a writer's perspective* - even literature/art doesn't happen in that vacuum of one single person chipping away by themselves. It also very seldom happens by completely disregarding what is happening in the market. Creating art is only one part inspiration and vision. An equally...
  6. Boxed copies of Planescape Torment

Someone at GOG made this rather interesting find: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plane-Scape-Tor ... videogames No big advertisement anywhere, yet suddenly it will be for sale again? Hm .... -Mnemon
  7. Let's Play BLOOD BOWL! WAAAAAGH!

Hm. Not a single foul thrown yet? When you got that deathroller down kicking it would have likely saved you some headache. For some tactic help: http://fumbbl.com/help:OrcStrategy http://fumbbl.com/help:Defensive+Setups http://fumbbl.com/help:The+Taoch!+of+Bl ... or+Newbies...
  8. Blood Bowl release: 26th of june

There's always www.fumbbl.com of course. Been around since 6 years now, has a good and well managed community. Plus someone is finally developing a lrb5 client, too. No fancy graphics, though, no console kiddies, and people that can actually play. Mostly.
  9. Jagged Alliance 2 ,

It works. See Jagged Alliance forums on Gog.com.
  10. Do you use headphones?

I have used this pair since about half a year now (and I wear them loads) and haven't noticed any damage on the visable parts. But yes, the reports are still out there. Google hits from the past year. Definitely seems their weak spot. With 2 years guarantee there's at least some cover for that...
  11. Do you use headphones?

Have Sennheiser HD280 and recommend them, too. Once they were worn in a little I didn't notice the "I can feel I am wearing headphones" thing anymore. Plus they are sturdy. And - living in shared housing - I think it's just nicer on those you live with to not share your game soundtrack :).
  12. Interview Bethesda - Returning to Oblivion?

Could that mean that Fallout 3 isn't selling as much and as quickly as expected? I.e. Marketing Guys assumimg that an Oblivion expansion might bring in more in the long run? Does anyone have a sales comparison between the two - i.e. how much Oblivion sold in the months straight after release...
  13. Editorial Why Geneforge sucks

I don't see what you folks are reading into this. There's no "being pissy about gender choices". She mentions that gender choices are linked to different classes, gives an example of a friend that is adverse to playing female characters, and suggests that that may actually be an underlying "turn...
  14. Let's Play Chaos League!

http:\\www.fumbbl.com Biggest online bloodbowl site around using, currently, a java based client for games. It's not pretty, but turnbased and ... well more fun.
