Yea, have the Chosen One to punch the Founder in the balls and eyes, the same way he has done to every other nasty thing in the Wastelands he's encountered.

So it really is Chosen One's faction? I thought they were alien invaders of some kind. It's very un-Falloutish for Chosen One to build an army and lead a country. He should kill everyone single-handedly. Or with some help of Dogmeat and Sulik.

Remember that old adage that "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely?". The Chosen One would no longer be the same person by then. Also it is not very Fallouty indeed. Unless you tried to play Fallout 2 with a mostly diplomatic character that would likely be able to pull something like that. But then IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TOTALLY AVOID COMBAT IN FALLOUT 1 AND 2.

Real Brotherhood of Steel Theme

seque.jpg

Emerging from a near collapse.

lpddfobos001.jpg

The Brotherhood of Steel has went through harsh times in the last eight years. The New California Republic has recently been close to defeat them, and they were forced to sign a crippling peace agremeent that forced them to pay hefty war indemnities that bankrupted them financially, while poor trade led them to suffer energy shortages, and widespread discontent harbors through their lands.

In face of the situation, High Elder Maxson, upon hearing the famous speech on the Under-Nation, has decided it is time for changes to happen. Changes in the way the Brotherhood deals with the outside world. Or what is left of it.

lpddfobos002.jpg

The Brotherhood of Steel is a Military Technocracy: a government based upon the principle of meritocracy, led by the brightest and best Scribes and Paladins among them. Structurally, it is not less authoritarian than the very Under-Nation they deem a threat. The difference lies in their agenda. For although caring mostly for the well-being of their own members, the Brotherhood of Steel still is a humane society, one where fairness, justice, right, duty, mutual aid, BROS among Hoes and honor are very important values.

Their economy is mostly planned, with resources and wealth distributed among members according to merit. They lack the same fascist undertones of the splinter Brotherhood of Steel, because they don't press-gang outsiders to join, and even among those within, they don't impede those discontent from leaving freely and carving their own fate in the outside world.

Recently many changes in the leadership happened, as Maxson has realized some individuals were better suited for the tasks at hand. The Scribe with a thing for Secret Projects was not really very useful for the matters of the moment, and was thus replaced, as were several others. Trying to compensate the natural limitations of manpower of the Brotherhood with a better recruiter for Paladins wouldn't work, and thus was chosen instead a drillmaster, capable of making all soldiers reorganize faster.

lpddfobos003.jpg

Many problems still plague the Brotherhood of Steel. Sometimes, even knowing that they would be wiped out easily if caught, slavers dare to move inside the Brotherhood of Steel territories, which will hurt the Brotherhood a lot because of how elitist they are about who they accept inside their ranks, and as if things couldn't be bad enough, the ghoul known as Kurtz continues to make creepy broadcasts that upset the population. But there was one more, very big problem ahead.

lpddfobos004.jpg

The New California Republic obviously thinks they were just on the verge of defeating the Brotherhood. They have challenged the Honor of the BROS, and now, even as they think this will be easy, the Brotherhood of Steel shall not stand idle to these provocations. A minor border skirmish thus triggers another war between NCR and the Brotherhood of Steel, but everything is ready to give them what they want.

There was a time the NCR was a moral and civilizational standard in the Wasteland. They have grown complacent and corrupt since, with suspected deals with thugs in New Reno, and even the futility of politicians using the war against the Brotherhood of Steel as a way of gaining votes while the entire human race is threatened by a growing legion of rats! The Elders were certain that the continued survival of the Brotherhood now depended upon the elimination of the New California Republic and of their cronies in The Hub, regardless of them having more soldiers. A plan was thus made: they knew that the industrial heart of both enemies were very concentrated. If they managed to capture their industrial centers and hold them, no matter how many soldiers they still had, they would eventually starve for there would be no industrial capacity to keep them fed, and then the Brotherhood would prevail.

Thus EXTREME measures must be taken against the New California Republic. In the entirety of the West Coast, the only civilization that might be persuaded to ally with the Brotherhood of Steel through diplomacy, for also being a Military Technocracy, is the Shi Empire. All others are either openly hostile or neutral to the Brotherhood.

lpddfobos005.jpg

However, amidst much internal strife, the Brotherhood of Steel will have one more issue: the reviled Dark Cathedral is a threat to the few remainingl humane societies in the Wastelands, and their message of nihilistic self-destruction and subliminal manipulation triggers even more unrest. It is under such growing pains that the Brotherhood must attempt to achieve victory.

For they knew that only them could save mankind right now.

lpddfobos006.jpg

Although leaving Las Vegas undefended would be a problem, it was not sufficiently important, and winning against the numerically superior forces of NCR and Hub was a much greater priority. The attack happened against San Diego, with the goal of cutting off the territory of the NCR. They have left it only lightly defended, which would greatly contribute for the plan of using it as a basis for pocketing and crushing several NCR regiments in the heart of their civilization.

Unfortunately, reinforcements came, the battle was lost, and in the coming counter attack, the New California Republic managed to begin marching towards the heart of the Brotherhood. Sixteen regiments were racing for there as well from Las Vegas, to stop them. Once they have arrived, the attack of NCR against Lost Hills was successfully stopped, and they immediately marched towards Fresno, which now was lightly defended.

lpddfobos007.jpg

Their victory ensued, and from Fresno, the sixteen regiments would be able to support the attack of twelve regiments against San Diego, with the goal of surrounding Shady Sands and L.A. Boneyard.

lpddfobos008.jpg

The battle then went much better than before, and it was only a matter of time before the Brotherhood of Steel Paladins would march triumphantly over Shady Sands and L.A.

lpddfobos009.jpg

In the meantime, a long overdue formal Annexation of Las Vegas as part of the Brotherhood territories happen. But Kurtz is still nowhere to be found. Searchs have been completely stopped as greater worries exist right now.

lpddfobos010.jpg

The community that the Chosen One has saved has meet its final demise in the hands of legions of mind-controlled manboons by rats. New Arroyo is gone, and with its death, the Under-Nation has one less target to choose to invade before the Brotherhood. Their expansion is reckless, but they still hope they may be able to defeat such a threat, if they defeat NCR first.

And unfortunately, constant reinforcements eventually ruined the offensive against San Diego. As a new plan was being established. Rather than advancing straight for it, the next time, the Brotherhood would allow for the forces to rest after a victorious offensive, so that they could regain organization and drag more defenders to lose in San Diego and retreat.

lpddfobos011.jpg

The entirety of the Brotherhood Forces struggled for the first push. Fortunately most of the NCR forces defending San Diego were unreliable hired guns, and through superior training and superior technology, in spite of only slightly outnumbering the defenders, the Brotherhood of Steel succeeded at winning this tough battle, but like planned, the forces in Fresno designated to move there would not march immediately, as they were no depleted of organization after such a tough battle, for now, they would wait.

Little knew the Brotherhood of Steel of how their second war with the NCR would be only the beginning of many trials they would have to endure.

lpddfobos012.jpg

For a new power has risen in the far north, and soon very important decisions would have to be made, as the descendant of the legendary Vault Dweller who defeated the Master's Army believed himself to be the only path for mankind's salvation. Fortunately this meant the Under-Nation would be kept busy, for hopefully a very long time.

But the consequences of this ressurgence of the Chosen One were not fully unveiled yet.

Under the Northern Star

lpddfobos013.jpg

Old and new enemies of the mythichal Chosen One immediately reacted to the formation of Polar Station Zeta. The winds of was blowed through the Wastes, and now it was time for a choice to be made by the Brotherhood of Steel. A difficult choice for siding with the Chosen One would expose them to immediate aggression by the full might of Under-Nation, while not siding with them would have unfortunate consequences as well. For it seems the Chosen One has changed, and was no longer willing to be diplomatic. It was "either with us or against" among his followers.

lpddfobos014.jpg

The Elders have ruled to pursuit their own path, faithful that the Brotherhood of Steel was better prepared to save themselves and mankind from the threat of the rodent legions. However, this caused for both Enclave and Polar Station Zeta to declare war against the Brotherhood, and several bribed thugs in New Reno and The Den, now supporting the Enclave, would add a new problem for the Brotherhood difficult war against the New California Republic. But fortunately these thugs were also at war against the NCR.

lpddfobos015.jpg

Brotherhood outposts within the territories of those who were now at war with the Brotherhood had to be evacuated and completely destroyed to prevent any technology left behind to fall into enemy hands. This was the final moment for them. It would be this conflict that would define the future of the Brotherhood of Steel.

lpddfobos016.jpg

Attempts to advance further to the south fail due to large numbers. For were Imperial Valley to fall, both Hub and NCR would have no way of keeping their forces supplied, ensuing certain victory.

lpddfobos017.jpg

ap3g1.jpg

Far from the north, for the first time in the history of the Wastelands, an aerial attack happened as Polar Station Zeta airships bombarded Brotherhood of Steel positions in Fresno. Thanks to how well-entrenched they were, the bombing was not very effective and didn't bring significant casualties.

lpddfobos018.jpg

Once again, the damnable Dark Cathedral causes another uproar through their subliminal messaging methods. Will this ever end? Only once this Dark Cathedral is wiped from the world, as Captain Obvious would answer. The Siege against Shady Sands has lasted enough, meanwhile. It was to to put things to an end.

lpddfobos019.jpg

Suffering from supply shortages already, the defenders of the heart of the New California Republic are crushed after a major battle. Many have died, but finally, the NCR lied on the brink of defeat. With this victory, the Brotherhood of Steel have begun to consolidate their position in the Kwanzanian West Coast.

lpddfobos020.jpg

Now all they had to do was to consolidate their gains and wait as the enemy forces starved. For due to a funny bug the IC in Imperial Valley wasn't increasing and the belligerence of NCR was skyrocketing nonstop.

lpddfobos021.jpg

A new tech team can now procceed. The very valuable resource of clean, drinkable water shall perhaps help the Brotherhood internal population to grow larger. However, the Brotherhood of Steel remains broke and their researches are procceeding much slowly than otherwise because of this fact. The Brotherhood forces wait until what is predicted to be the right time to attack Imperial Valley.

lpddfobos022.jpg

In spite of their numerical superiority, mostly without supplies for months, the odds were against the defenders regardless of their superior numbers. In fact, in this place there were more soldiers than the entirety of the Brotherhood army. Thanks to their strategy of depriving their enemies of their most fertile and productive areas, forcing them into places where their armies would be unable to survive or get more ammunition. And thus, through superior technology and strategy, the Brotherhood of Steel now only had to mop up their remnants. However, the Under-Nation was also taking advantage of the fact and thus time was short to consolidate.

lpddfobos023.jpg

New Reno seizes Las Vegas, but such a loss is negligible compared to the capture of the Hub and of all major cities of the New California Republic. The Brotherhood of Steel also had a new challenge. They have always been focused on their own, and never had so many people to command before. They couldn't simply accept them inside the Brotherhood, but they couldn't leave them on their own either, allowing them to rise in arms against them.

Thus a civilian organization was formed to encompass the governance of those outside the Brotherhood: the Brotherhood of Boner, in reference to Angels Boneyard, its seat of government, would be set up under the same fair and meritocratic principles of the Brotherhood of Steel, but have no access to their most sensitive technologies. They had no intention of using the Brotherhood of Boner as a source for new recruits, however.

All were invited to join the Brotherhood of Boner. Those who didn't want to were free to migrate to the hells in Earth like New Reno, The Den, or even worse, the Under-Nation instead. Thus, most, seeing the Brotherhood as the best place to live in the Wastelands, has chosen to stay.

lpddfobos024.jpg

And thus, the fall of the NCR was now only a matter of time.

By choosing an independent path through these turbulent times, the Brotherhood of Steel made many new enemies, but also retained their principles, and gained a chance to establish a foothold in the American West Coast.

Would Polar Station Zeta realize the futility of declaring war against the Brotherhood? Would they buy enough time to prevent the Under-Nation from crushing the Brotherhood of Steel with sheer numbers while they weren't prepared for such scenario?

Time will tell.

Wait, what? :decline: Power Armor is 1956, at your pace, I expect 1953 or 1954, there won't be anyone left to annex at that point.

Also, Aspen Robotic Center is awesome if you're playing full IC takeover. 56 IC. :salute:

Fall of the New California Republic

lpddfobos025.jpg

New Reno thugs attempted unsuccessfully to invade.

lpddfobos026.jpg

Another outpost is restored.

lpddfobos027.jpg

However, time is running short. The rats continue their rampage for world domination, and nothing seems to be stopping them as Redding falls.

lpddfobos028.jpg

The Brotherhood begins a process with the goal of mechanizing their army and their transport infrastucture, for only through superior speed, tactics and technology they would stand a chance against their foes.

lpddfobos029.jpg

But that was only part of all researches being committed. Also with the goal of perhaps one day being able to mass-manufacture power armor, the Brotherhood researches the methods for producing advanced synthetic materials from the pre-war era.

lpddfobos030.jpg

Not only they have a very limited manpower growth because of their elitist nature, but also the Brotherhood continues to suffer the miseries of the slaver states. Soon however they shall all be crushed, and the victims of their horrors freed, with the exception of the filthy rats.

lpddfobos031.jpg

The Brotherhood failed to get far because of the fast rodent forces of occupation, but they have at least succeeded at seizing Baja. The final doom of NCR and The Hub was near.

lpddfobos032.jpg

Considering the overprevalence of machineguns within the Brotherhood current forces, their improvement through the replacement of them with the powerful Bozar, that was being reverse-engineered to be mass-manufactured by the Brotherhood, begins.

lpddfobos033.jpg

Unfortunately the rats arrived first once again. But it was a province devoid of much strategic value, fortunately. And with this, the New California Republic ended, the Brotherhood of Steel now controlling all of its former territories. Also, news from the far north came on how a robotic threat was crushed by the rats.

lpddfobos034.jpg

Nothing else to comment about this, so I'll lazily just do a:

:bro:

lpddfobos035.jpg

And not so later, the Hub also met its ultimate DOOM. Thus, the Brotherhood has risen as a power in the Wastelands, winning against numerically superior foes, but the war wasn't over yet. Now it was the time to crush New Reno and The Den, and to perhaps seize Navarro Base.

lpddfobos036.jpg

I mean, now it is time to crush The Den and perhaps seize Navarro Base first than the Under-Nation. Would the Brotherhood have fast enough forces for such an accomplishment? As ITZmas happened, much was still to be decided.

There's not much room for you to expand until final encounter with The Rats. How much IC does the Rodent Empire have? And how's Polar Station Zeta doing? And how did you get so much money in last 2 screenshots?

Regarding the debt, lets say that slaving gives more profit than ever thought, and that, if the Brotherhood was to confiscate the Slavers money, they would easily repay it.

As for the second question, more than 600(having dealt with 1800 effective IC alien invaders, I'm more optimistic about the chances here). And as for the latter, they aren't faring very well but it is unlikely they will fuck up enough to end annexed either. And the Enclave is pretty much reduced to their islands in Alaska, of which the most important one has a connection with Anchorage, but they are impenetrable, at least against the dumb AI(or not, considering the Shi took the second most important one through amphibious assault in another game I've played.

===================================

matt_rat.jpg

Running out of Options

lpddfobos037.jpg

Another challenge for the Brotherhood was how they suddenly shifted from an insular, isolationistic organization to a major power and had now to take the burdens of managing a very large extent of territories. Unfortunately the chaos brought a very hurtful loss in manpower growth, which would really, really be nasty for an elitistic organization like the Brotherhood of Steel. However, it was obvious their army still had to be expanded as much as possible, considering the numbers and might of their eventual foe. However, the Brotherhood had a plan to equalize matters, and perhaps even allow for outnumbered attackers to achieve victory.

lpddfobos038.jpg

Zepplin.jpg

The creation of the largest Air Force in the Wastelands, for with air power, and air superiority, their victory would be certain as continual bombardment would be capable of wiping out entire legions without any air support from their side. Also, artillery would become a staple of their newest forces, for they knew that massed artillery could also make a difference.

lpddfobos039.jpg

Then, after several failed attacks against The Den, the rats came at full force against the thugs. The Brotherhood didn't wait, and also launched their own attack, hoping that the sheer speed of the buggy vehicles they had would allow for them to claim The Den first.

lpddfobos040.jpg

The improvement in civilian infrastructure suddenly became a much greater priority for the Brotherhood of Steel. Although most civilians would never have a chance of being recruited into the Brotherhood, they still had to ensure, like the Spartans, a support economy to expand their military capabilities.

lpddfobos041.jpg

Klamath falls. (couldn't resist)

The buggies race for Sierra Nevada, hoping to outrun the Hivemind forces.

lpddfobos042.jpg

And this time, fortunately, the Brotherhood gained the upper hand as the next leader of the Slaver's Guild ended being killed by the Brotherhood just as his predecessor was killed by the Chosen One.

lpddfobos043.jpg

As nobody else posed an immediate threat, the forces began to reorganize while the buggies now raced for Navarro Base, which seemed to have been abandoned by the Enclave after a major battle. Meanwhile, the only country the Brotherhood of Steel trusted, the Shi Empire, was becoming closer and closer in relations, and hopefully they would become allies, giving a very needed boost in the number of forces the Brotherhood could count on. The conquest of the Den also solved for once and all every financial problem the Brotherhood faced before.

lpddfobos044.jpg

After the development of transport pick-ups, the natural development of mechanized transport infrastructure from scrapped and newly manufactured vehicles is a natural consequence. Hopefully, by being the only ones in the Wastelands who use such kind of transports instead of horses, the Brotherhood would have a major logistical advantage. And perhaps one day glorious railroads shall usher a new era of post-nuclear industrialization like they did centuries ago.

lpddfobos045.jpg

In face of the newest technological development of the Brotherhood of Steel, finally the same infamous StealthBoy used by the Nighkin might come to use by the Brotherhood of Steel. However, it was known to make those who used it for too long crazy, and thus, perhaps it might not be very necessary. Because of IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TOTALLY AVOID COMBAT IN FALLOUT, it means that it Rat Diplomacy and Rat Stealth should work in similar ways.

lpddfobos046.jpg

A bit redundant, but whatever.

lpddfobos047.jpg

In time, the Enclave, realizing there was nothing they could do, accepted to give Navarro Base away to the Brotherhood of Steel. And thus, with this great victory, the Brotherhood of Steel has solidified their position in the Amerikwan West Coast as much as they could, while diplomatic talks continued to forge a new alliance with the Shi Empire with the goal of defending mankind against the all-around threat of the Under-Nation.

lpddfobos048.jpg

However, the rats had at least 300 battalions ready for combat, while the Brotherhood of Steel had only 31. If they attacked now, they would be overwhelmed most likely. At the very least, they should secure an alliance with the Shi first, and then, even then, it might not be enough, but waiting too much to build further their forces would only mean the rat forces would grow even more numberful, and that the Polar Station Zeta, keeping them busy right now, could be gone.

The Brotherhood of Steel has emerged victorious form their first trials in these harsh times, but only now their real war was about to begin.

So you're actually going to attack the Rats? I know you're really good at outwitting the AI, but I have no idea how can you make a successful stand against their vastly overwhelming army. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out.

And BROS! Let's all show our appreciation of this excellent LP!

Just saying bro, artillery kinda sucks due to the speed penalties that increase at higher techs.

However, Stealth Boy Companies are so kickass you can't refuse using them.

Holy shit, Hero Companies.

Unless you have an IC Capacity large enough to win the game anyway, I doubt you can field many of them, but still...

Also, yes. Stealth Boy Companies are awesome.

Btw, the other doctrines have a ridiculously good benefit over the Pre-War Military doctrine: That event that raises the skill of one of your generals, and allows you to research Pre-War Military doctrines IN ADDITION to your old doctrine. Sure, it requires armored units, but goddamn! My Mutants had over 200 organization!

Armored units....you mean I need to research APCs or the final mutant/human tank research? Are there any other conditions beyond that?

Get Ready. ITZ Coming

lpddforathunter001.jpg

The Brotherhood of Steel didn't lack enough industrial might to stand a chance against the Under-Nation. Their greatest problem was the lack of manpower, but as long as it existed, more divisions would be raised while they also were building their Air Force.

lpddforathunter003.jpg

And research happened at a quick pace. The hope was that they would out-tech the enemy so much they could win through excellence, and a very, very big gun.

lpddforathunter004.jpg

With them being no serious threat to the Brotherhood, peace is immediately accepted. It would be only, however, through diplomatic means, that the Brotherhood would ever stand a chance of victory, and there was only one ally left.

lpddforathunter005.jpg

lpddforathunter006.jpg

And thus after many talks, the Brotherhood finally succeeded at establishing an alliance with the Shi Empire. Now they had more than 70 divisions to come in support against the threat of the Hivemind.

lpddforathunter007.jpg

And they were believing that their future and victory lied fully through air support. Researches for the improvement of the recent Brotherhood of Steel Air Force were given priority now. If the Zepellin bombers of the Brotherhood would not be enough, nothing would,

lpddforathunter008.jpg

For the shining star of the Chosen One is fading. It was necessary to know more before starting a suicidal war against the rats. As soon as manpower ran out all focus would be shifted to the construction of a massive network of fortifications with no loopholes besides amphibious operations. The line that would separate men from rats.

lpddforathunter009.jpg

Intelligence was heavily discouraging towards the once considered possibility of the Brotherhood of Steel being the one to start the war.

lpddforathunter010.jpg

Don't ask me why the AI controlled Shi Empire established a slavery-based society, nor why the Brotherhood of Steel also has one. Well, there was always something wrong about them, they were too segregated from the rest of the Wastelands for too long, so no surprise they would behave as badly as the other Brotherhood in its worst moments.

lpddforathunter011.jpg

The ultimate in land doctrines is also researched. Soon the Brotherhood shall reach its technological apex from a tactical standpoint. Unfortunately it is too early to begin the climb to power armor as a standard issue gear for all Brotherhood soldiers.

lpddforathunter012.jpg

But even now the Brotherhood of Diversity ideas continue to exist. Maybe it is time to make the Paladins and scribes feel more relaxed when off-duty. After seeing how the Wastelands were, many in the Brotherhood felt themselves as detached and foreign to those manboons as the rats did, and it was just a matter of time before a highly technological society would crumble into despotism and abuse of outsiders by its members. First people went missing, only to wake up in underground forced labor camps or inside the bedroom of proeminent Brotherhood members for the fulfillment of tasteful rape. It was a slow but gradual decay that would eventually turn slavery into an acceptable practice against outsiders in the Brotherhood.

In the grim darkness of the Wastelands, there are no good guys left... between being treated as plaything and cattle by the Under-Nation, the Shi Empire or the Brotherhood of Steel or being the target of a genocidal campaign by the Enclave, they were beyond salvation.

lpddforathunter013.jpg

And thus research also covered darker improvements on the art of subjugating the weak and turning human beings into servile cattle. I can't believe the HoI2 AI would non-intentionally rape the canon by turning BoS and Shi into slaver states. I thought I was at last going to pick some good guys for a change but instead I got more canon rape...

:rage:

lpddforathunter014.jpg

But the bigger the gun, the better. And thus the most awesome of all miniguns is soon to become standard issue for most of the Brotherhood of Steel forces.

lpddforathunter015.jpg

The Shi deliver much of their knowledge to the Brotherhood without asking anything in exchange. The alliance brings good results.

lpddforathunter016.jpg

lpddforathunter017.jpg

Technological progress advances quickly inside the Brotherhood of Steel. No other faction in the Wastelands, no matter how large, is as technologically advanced as them. However, the intelligence reports about the rats and their might implied in a dire situation. The chances of a successful offensive were nigh impossible. It was time for executing the unthinkable: the highly disputed, criticized Plans B and C, simultaneously, for if one fails, the other will be there to back it up.

lpddforathunter018.jpg

Unknowingly the Shi have already given a major support to Plan B. Like the Chosen One, like the Vault Dweller, the Broterhood realized that to defeat the Under-Nation, EXTREME measures would be require.

lpddforathunter019.jpg

However, they have only started researching to be able to build and deploy these EXTREME measures. It would take many years for the Brotherhood to be able to conduct a full Exterminatus against the Under-Nation. Too many years.

Thus there was Plan C. Its results wouldn't take as long, but its risks were much, much greater. Hopefully it would work, for now its execution would begin.

Also, has there been any official canon on China and Europe beyond what the original game's intro told us? I ask because the official topic for this mod has plenty of people asking the creator to open up china and europe. Also, a huge number of people want a CSA and the return of the southern gentleman in the mod.

According to the Fallout Bible, there is no definition of what happened to them after the war, so they are both blank slates.

How on earth did the Huns manage to take Vancouver before New Arroyo?

Also, is it actually possible to find gold in Fort Knox, or anything at all?

Btw, the other doctrines have a ridiculously good benefit over the Pre-War Military doctrine: That event that raises the skill of one of your generals, and allows you to research Pre-War Military doctrines IN ADDITION to your old doctrine. Sure, it requires armored units, but goddamn! My Mutants had over 200 organization!

Armored units....you mean I need to research APCs or the final mutant/human tank research? Are there any other conditions beyond that?
I think it can be both APC and Tanks. Other than that, just having a doctrine that isn't Pre-War.

EDIT: Also, I think South America or China should be covered first in case the mod expands playable territory. South America would be a natural continuation of things when you get past the Darien Tribes, and a new US vs China war would be a fun thing I guess.

Also, if you ask me slavery is a closer to canon interpretation for BoS. Though their form of slavery would probably be a lot different from the norm. For the Shi, it should be a matter of the choice between Lo Pan and the Dragon.

My two cents in terms of future strategy: When you've bled out their technological usefulness, conquer the Shi so you gain access to their IC and manpower.

Ultimate Rat Diplomacy

lpddfoonlyone001.jpg

Plan A: Invading and defeating the Under-Nation was concluded to not be a good idea, because it IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TOTALLY WIN AGAINST RATS IN FALLOUT 1 AND 2

Thus, the fortifications were being built while there was still time to get ready for the final conflict.

lpddfoonlyone002.jpg

The introduction of stealthboys would become a major breakthrough, capable of bringing massive benefits through a new, elite force within the Brotherhood of Steel equipped with them. Whoever is targeted by them won't even know what hit them.

lpddfoonlyone003.jpg

Testing proves airships aren't really as effective for close-air support and aerial interdiction roles as they are for strategic bombardment, something which won't be very useful here. Thus researches are being done to create faster, smaller, lighter and more versatile bombers in the future.

chosenoneultimatedoom.png

The Chosen One might have made mistakes in this present, but it is only thanks to his heroism that the Enclave haven't completely wiped out the entire Wastelands. He will be forever immortalized and honored in the annals of the Brotherhood, no homo.

:salute:

In time, the Brotherhood began to enact Plan C. They establish an extensive intelligence network in the Under-Nation, for more purposes than only knowning the extent of their army numbers, while trying to appease the Founder with gifts in massive amounts of cheese. And thus they questioned the old adage that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO AVOID COMBAT IN FALLOUT by conducting Rat Diplomacy of their own.

lpddfoonlyone005.jpg

Eventually, the Brotherhood found out the crashed remains of an alien spaceship. Caring more about knowledge than salvage, they began to study it, hoping to find out useful technologies from an attempt to reverse-engineer this thing.

lpddfoonlyone006.jpg

Those who thought the other Brotherhood of Steel was evil, fascist and tyrannical had no idea of how things would turn out for the original Brotherhood of Steel. Their policy of enslaving outsiders for every possible of their own whims has been expanded exponentially, and now a large amount of Brotherhood members owned slaves, mostly for pleasure rather than work, for slaves weren't seen as worthy of craft. The degeneracy of the Brotherhood once they came out of their isolationism and reclusion meant the last arguably "good guys" in the wastelands have been corrupted.

lpddfoonlyone007.jpg

While the Shi already gone all the way into slavery, like the Koreans in the past. Only they had too little manpower to go zerging, because if they did have what it takes, then the Brotherhood would have enacted Plan A against the Under-Nation.

lpddfoonlyone008.jpg

The crashed alien spaceship was useful after all, accelerating the progress of many ongoing Brotherhood researches, while new minigun squads were readied.

lpddfoonlyone009.jpg

With the fall of the Warriors of Ice, with the exception of the Darrien Tribes that strangely were still resisting, the Brotherhood of Steel and the Shi Empire were the last remaining civilizations in the whole known continent of America still not conquered by the might of the Under-Nation. Now it could be the beginning of ITZ, or not. After all, they had more than enough forces in the border with the Brotherhood to attempt an invasion for a long time.

lpddfoonlyone010.jpg

The primary purpose of the Brotherhood of Steel: the recovery of pre-war and development of new technologies and knowledge, is succeeding beyond all expectations, and the people inside the Brotherhood feel proud for all they have achieved. Of course having toilet paper, plumbing, hot showers, slaves to GAHAHAHA and water on taps have a bit to do with it as well.

lpddfoonlyone011.jpg

Now it was already 2256, and the rats still didn't invade the Brotherhood, fortunately, but they couldn't count on this to go on forever. Sooner or later ITZ will come, and Plan C had many drawbacks, but they didn't give up on the ambitious project, no matter how many were lost. Like the previous heroes of the Wastelands, the Brotherhood now counted on single individuals to deliver a crushing blow against the Hivemind, like did the Vault Dweller against the Master and the Chosen One against the Enclave.

The Brotherhood is characterized by hilly landscapes, and thus it is only logical the neglected field of terrain-specific tactics, now that the ultimate generalist doctrine has been researched, begins with crag fighting. Hopefully these researches will be very important to ensure at least the capability of keeping the rats at a halt in case of an invasion.

lpddfoonlyone012.jpg

Exterminatus2.png

Plan B was also not really dismissed. If truly necessary, the Brotherhood would, once they have researched enough to be able to build them, resort to nuclear weapons as a means of destroying the Under-Nation. Hopefully Plan C would succeed before this becomes a necessity rather than an option, for who knows if the rats wouldn't have nuclear weapons of their own again, and if a major nuclear war happened, then, without doubt, this would be the ULTIMATE Rearmageddon for Kwanzania, and if something like that happened, there would be no survivors at all besides the very filthy rats they sought to exterminate one day.

lpddfoonlyone013.jpg

Later in the same year, the first expansions or recently built fortifications are raised over all borders the Brotherhood territories sharing borders with the Under-Nation.

lpddfoonlyone014.jpg

In spite of the ever-present threat of the Under-Nation and of successive failures for performing the daring final act of Plan C, hidden through deceit from the rats, as the Brotherhood mastered the art of Rat Diplomacy, the economy within Brotherhood controlled territories Prosper significantly, specially due to recent researches improving infrastructure and societal policies(if slavery could be called one).

lpddfoonlyone015.jpg

Finally, after centuries, a New World Order was rising from the ashes of nuclear devastation, and the world was reaching a point where part of the few remaining human-controlled territories of it besides the Enclave could finally be compared in prosperity and infrastructure to pre-war developed countries. A new educational paradigm was being raised as well, that included even formalized University degrees. The Brotherhood has finally opened a proper opportunity for the best among the outsiders to join their ranks: all those who performed excellently in these new universities would be recruited.

lpddfoonlyone016.jpg

Meanwhile, for all those who once thought a direct, military invasion of the Under-Nation was a good idea, this piece of information finally silenced those who still advocated Plan A. For it is easier for a paper dog to catch an asbestos cat in Hell than for the Brotherhood to even survive after declaring war against such a legion, unless of course, they exterminated all of them with nuclear weapons and air supremacy.

lpddfoonlyone017.jpg

In face of the Prosperity of the economy, the Brotherhood has decided to launch a major effort to improve the infrastructure of its territories. A new, post-nuclear industrial revolution was beginning as once again, steam-powered trains and freshly built railroads featured the landscape.

lpddfoonlyone019.jpg

It is 2257, fortunately the rats still didn't bring war, and the Brotherhood can now build mainframes, while in review of the Under-Nation, against which yet another attempt of Plan C's final act has failed, it is realized that, for some reason, the rats became far less oppressive than they usually were. Something was gradually changing in their society, but still, they had to be wiped out without mercy for enslaving human beings and...

:M

Nevermind.

lpddfoonlyone020.jpg

Placed in the otherwise strategically unimportant Baja, the first nuclear powerplant of the Brotherhood of Steel is constructed. Plan B's first step is finished.

lpddfoonlyone021.jpg

Extensive improvement in aerial tactics like cooperation between air units followed by gradual improvements of Brotherhood airships, leading to the flaunted "Sky Fortresses", are a common policy now, as it is believed that, for Plan B, the Air Force will be essential for both blocking any potential Under-Nation bombers from attacking while escorting their own.

Meanwhile, a brave man volunteered after many previous ones have failed. His mission was a dangerous one. The final step for Plan C require ultimate courage, sacrifice and skill. The man had to get deep within the core of the Under-Nation beneath Rock Springs, and sneak through it with the support of a stealh boy until reaching The Founder himself, while retaining enough discipline to not be mind controlled. Then, the Warrior would have to do something that would change the world forever.

This man was called Paladin Cleveland Mark Blakemore.

Supported by the vast Intelligence network of the Brotherhood of Steel within the Under-Nation and by their stealth commandos, Cleveland has succeeded at reaching the dangerous Rock Springs, as now the most difficult part of his mission approached. With his ubermensch agility and IQ above 180, he managed to predict the exact movements of all patrolling guards and avoid them in a matter of seconds, and the few who spotted him were dead before they could alert anyone. He began to crawl through the burrows, knowing well what awaited down there.

There he faced the very manifestation of what he predicted. Rats devoured hungrily slabs of babymeat slapped with cutted underwears, fortunately distracted enough to not notice him sneaking through. Manboons were victims not of Machete Rape Gangs, but of rats eating them, mutilating them, playing with their intestines and getting inside their anus. It was a horrible vision what happened inside those underground tunnels, a vision that would have broken a lesser man.

In time, he found the one who started everything. The Founder was a vicious rat, but even then he could perceive that he was an uber-ratte, probably far more intelligent than the average manboon, if not equal to Cleveland in IQ. Nobody else has managed to get this far before. In fact, no human has ever seen the Founder private quarters. And there, everything was set. He lunged and quickly plunged a syringe into the Founder, who immediately seemed to become unconscious. Not wasting any time then, he grabbed a device: a strange leather helmet connected by a thick wire to a far smaller one, and wore the larger helmet while putting the smaller into the rat.

lpddfoonlyone022.jpg

Having weighed the options, the Warrior purposefully strides into the Founder's brain. While this union of man and rat represents an end to the hero's humanityl, it also promises rebirth with the power and resources essential to rescue civilization from the brink of oblivion. With the mind of the Warrior working in conjunction with the Founder's sheer intellect and psychic powers a new Under-Nation arises, and immediately near all human beings within the rule of the Under-Nation are given full citizenship rights and their freedom back.

Many rats have been shocked by the new policies of the Founder, justified as part of a plan to make an eternally stable world empire that would no longer suffer with rebellions. Many rats were slaughtered. In fact, most of the Third Rat Council died. While other rats, seeing this would interfere little in their lives besides depriving them of a larger amount manboons to toy with, for slavery remained even if in a far more limited degree than before, promptly filled the gaps from the great purges against those who tried to kill the Founder as he changed.

lpddfoonlyone023.jpg

Contact is immediately established with the Brotherhood Elders and an alliance is formed. While no longer an opponent the Under-Nation chooses to not directly serve the Brotherhood, a delegation of the top Brotherhood Elders departs for Rock Springs to discuss details of the new alliance, they never reach their destination. Brotherhood soldiers are dispatched to investigate; however no traces of the ill-fated expedition are found. The impact on Brotherhood morale is devastating, for every soldier knows leaders define rules and rules shape the Brotherhood.

The Founder quickly integrates with the surviving Brotherhood leaders; inane rats knowledge of Brotherhood procedure begin to handle operations in Brotherhood outposts. Under-Nation minions are sent to bunkers and allied towns to ease the strain of basic needs like patrols, while maintaining a military show of force to keep outlaws at bay. Soon the alliance is discarded with all forces now under one leader, the Brotherhood is once again reborn. To speed the unification process discrimination against rats or humans is outlawed, the new Brotherhood views all as a valuable resource to be exploited instead of threats to be eliminated. Old hatreds and fears are soon set aside as humans and rats work together to carry out the Brotherhood's plans for transforming the wastelands into a civilized society.

lpddfoonlyone024.jpg

The new regime has thus conquered the entirety of North America, and quickly dispatches those that would halt progress. Soon the Brotherhood is a protector with entire continents under its influence. And thus, although The Founder's original consciousness perished, ironically, it were the actions of the Brotherhood of Steel that sealed the fate of the continent and forged the Founder's original ambitions of conquest.

As the new Founder's power grows so does his hold on the continent but one question remains; how to deal with the beaten back but remaining threat the Enclave possess. It will not be as easy to eliminate the Enclave in its highly fortified strongholds in the northern islands of Alaska, but it must be done, for in the end there can only be one leader. One who is willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to unify the wasteland.

I dedicate this update to all who hoped for an epic final battle by the Brotherhood of Steel.

Trollface_HD.jpg

Fortunately though this is not the end yet no matter how close it seems to it. No need to keep surprises though. It's obvious what the next update will be about:

DEATH TO ALL MUTANTS, RATS AND TRAITORS OF HUMANITY

*Edit: And before you ask, being a Neanderthal, Cleve would be considered a Mutant by the Enclave manboons, thus why he joined the BROtherhood of Steel instead.

Problem is.

Enclave can only win by nuking everything, so it wouldn't make fun updates.
