Last Stand of Humanity (Part 1)

Good soundtrack, according to Higher Game. But Banal Shit Boring according to Lyric Suite.



The enemy fleet is far more modern and advanced than anything that existed before.



The end is near. Necron Tripods began to fight together with regular alien troops for the first time, and this will be simply untoppable.





Through land, air and sea, the enemy dominates. The human race is at its end. They only fight as desperate attempt to buy time for a miracle, that most likely will never happen. ITZ, as predicted by the prophets of many times, has come. And ITZ couldn't be stopped or defeated.



They bravely fought however, to avoid from sharing the same fate of the dinosaurs, or even worse, the same fate of cattle.





Bravery was not relevant, however. Victory was the only way to ensure the salvation of humanity, but with their numbers, they would never manage to stop the tide. Only to buy as much time as possible, however, territory after territory of mankind fell every day, every week, every month.





The news of technological advances were met with coldness. It was too late for anything now.



It's impossible to retake Munich.



However, in the East Front, the enemy has left gaps in their front lines, that could allow for the retaking of Istanbul, cutting off many of their supply lines through the Soviet Union.



In Britain, the soldiers prepare for their last stand in Scapa Flow.



If it was possible to liberate Stralsund... however, it is impossible... it is over now, everything they could do. Not even the greatest military genius of mankind could stop such enemy, for their technology was centuries ahead of mankind's, and such difference would never be offset, unless perhaps armies of dozens of millions could be raised, but that was, also, impossible.



But they were determined... even if misguided in their illusions of hope.



If Salzburg fell... the entire remnants of Germany would be in an even direr situation. The enemy must be stopped right there.



Meanwhile, in the Balkans, the aliens continue their unchallenged spread.



The few soldiers defending Salzburg could do nothing.



And the Tripods bring more destruction through Greece. Not even 300 Spartans could stop such a force.



There is hope, however, that it is possible to defeat such an enemy in a defensive war, but that was yet to be seen. more than two hundred fifty thousand men prepared to learn whether they could hold such an enemy or not.



It is totally impossible to win such a battle.



And thus, more five divisions meet their ultimate DOOM. The Foedus of Man is collapsing, slowly, across the planet.



Battle of Salzburg



The defense of Salzburg involved a massive deployment of panzer divisions against a horde of seven enemy divisions, including a lone Tripod division. It was a brutal battle, however, the Panzers main guns were powerful enough to damage weak spots in the Tripods, provided they weren't plastered by their ray guns before firing.





The Panzers were used to lure the tripods into a very narrow valley. Many died in such daring tactic, but it was the only way, for as soon as masses of enemies began to pass through the valley.



Thousands of artillery shells began to rain over them.







And thus, for the first time since the begginning of this war, an attacking with Tripods has been successfully stopped. It was both hopeful and depressing. Hopeful because it meant the enemies weren't completely unstoppable. Depressing because no armies of the world could fathom enough forces to truly hold the time of such dreaded enemy advance, and now that they knew that, if they could have more soldiers, they'd have a chance, defeat would be even more horrifying.



However, the situation continued to worsen everywhere else. And terrible news came.





ITZ arrived in Poland. Now there was little that could be done.



Meanwhile, Constanta was liberated, but at what price?



In Ciudad del Este, the Army of Paraguay makes their last stand. Unfortunately it was too late for them to join the other allies in South America.





Trento, however, is secured, for the time being.





The French, instead of surrendering, make their last stand in Mulhouse, fighting to the last man.



Another attempt to destroy the Tripods in Milan begins.



However, despite the victory in Salzburg, the enemy doesn't stop.



Yet, even outnumbered, this, time, mankind has won the battle.



It became even clearer that tripods were strategically undefeatable in offenses.



And the the last stand of France wasn't over yet.





However, the most horrible news of the month of February were the realization, that Poland was once again threatened, invaded through several fronts. They couldn't hold through so many fronts, against such terribly powerful enemies. ITZ COMING!



To ensure Trento won't fall easily, more divisions move to defend it. The last stand of France was over. France has fully fallen to the alien threat now, and the invasions of Italy and Germany began to increase in intensity as a consequence.

: You have forsaken the defense of our homeland to help Germans! This is high treason! I demand you fall back to Poland to stop the enemy immediately!

: No! If we fall back to Poland now, the hundreds of German divisions supporting us would be massacred, and then we'd have no chances at all. Those tripods to the east aren't numberful enough to hold all the territory they have advanced through, but the hordes in the western front are. If we don't halt them, if we allow for them to meet with the tripods to the east, then ITZ will come for sure. Besides, perhaps that is exactly the purpose of those isolated incursions of tripods: to disrupt the western front. If we do this we'll fall right into the enemy's trap.

With heavy artillery fire, at least some good news. Usti has been successfully defended. And then.



A chance to liberate Kustrin and reduce the threat such alien occupation presents to Poland appears. A victory would be very important here.





They have fought against the numerically inferior but technologically superior forces. Modern reactive armors and active protection systems made the tanks nearly unbeatable by their equipment, except for lucky shots from their RPGs.





And thus now, all it took was to reach Kustrin in time.



The reinforcements, set to attempt stopping the tide of the enemy invasion, finally arrive at Innsbruck.



Where is skyway now?



Perceiving the offensive on Kustrin, the enemy reacted.







Infantry divisions equipped with power armors and modern tanks, amidst legions of living dead soldiers. A hopeless battle for the defenders of Cottbus.



Meanwhile, an attempt to liberate Lech begins.



And realizing the threat that losing Cottbus would pose to the defenders of Berlin, a major reinforcement is deployed, hopefully to arrive before the enemy.



The offensive against Kustrin had to be abandoned.



Another enemy attack is halted at Linz.



The offensive against Lech doesn't succeed, although it may draw pressure off the northern front.





The battle for Kiev reaches a dramatic point, as the Soviet forces in Ukraine are pocketed in the city, fighting against a legion of Tripods in a hopeless battle.



The enemy advances through Polish territory, from both west and east, the situation became worse in this month of February, but they won't give up yet. They shall fight to the end.



Some tripods are successfully cut off from supplies in the Balkans by the use of the purest form of maneuver warfare. The only viable way of standing against such threat is not to directly engage them, but to slowly divide them as they lack the necessary numbers to hold through all the front lines in the east.





Then, the 27 divisions racing for Istanbul meet the nemesis of mankind. Will they manage to do what 15 divisions couldn't?

Last Stand of Humanity (Part 2)

The battle for Gorna Dz... whatever, proceed as more than twenty hundred fifty thousand men tried to stop a lone Tripods division.









Against all odds, they have succeeded through sheer quantity of firepower. Now, if only the Alliance Guard had enough men to protect every threatened territory with at least 27 divisions...



Meanwhile, the Italians continue wasting their strength in the completely unthreated, for now, Southern Italy, while the world is falling apart. Such demonstration of blatant stupidity requires direct intervention of the Alliance Guard to put such men into the frontlines of humanity, and perhaps increase a little more the fraction of a percent of chance of winning in this conflict.





Among the few good news is the fact the aliens have completely forsaken southeast Africa, and could even have abandoned the Suez. Such is an opportunity that cannot be lost.





The reason why, for the first, and now second time, infantry divisions managed to hold the tide of the Tripods with massed artillery barrages, now becomes much clearer.



Thus, they may yet reach Istanbul, causing some disarray into the enemy supply lines, for, their lack of more orbital drops mean that most likely, that was their entire invasion force, and unless Einstein was wrong, it would take them decades, if not centuries, to send more reinforcements.

Yes, you already can guess how this will end.





Surprisingly, Kiev became a bastion of resistance in the Soviet Union, replacing the role of Stalingrad in another space-time continuum. The defense the Red Army has put in this city has been heroic.



The battle for Cottbus reach a dramatic point, as Berlin is surrounded by alien forces. If Cottbus is lost, then the entire front line will be totally broken.







However, it was not over yet.



And The enemy began to advance through Poland, to make things worse. However, if they did something wrong when stretching their frontline, a new opportunity could come.





Maneuvering through the provinces the enemy has left unprotected is the only way of delaying the inevitable and "liberating" lost territory.



Romania ends meeting ITZ first than Bulgaria due to the bizarro strategies employed against such an unconventional and unstoppable enemy.



Meanwhile, another country in South America is completely defeated by the enemy.







Pigs will fly, snakes will smoke, but South America managing to turn the tide of a war where even the most powerful and wealthy countries of the world are on the verge of defeat?



Perhaps the aliens have underestimated South America, and thus, there could still be a chance. However, Central America began to fall already, putting the Alliance Guard into a tight situation.



Almost there, Cottbus must be secured, lest ITZ comes for the entirety of Germany.





In an unbelievable turn of events, despite completely surrounded, the Soviets have managed to won the Battle of Kiev, as it was discovered that skyway did not really die.



Scapa Flow was the last territory in Britain under UK control. Sixteen men prepared for their last stand, having no fleet to evacuate them ready.





However, the enemies didn't give up on Cottbus yet, and thus, one more engagement happened.



Yet, with one victory, came more bad news.





With the enemy redeploying, now it was a great opportunity to attempt retaking Plovdiv, and then, if possible, Istanbul.



And the decisive battle of Cottbus was not over yet.







The enemy advance continue unopposed, the threat of the enemy forces to the west and east merging increases, and if they succeed at that, there will be absolutely no more hope for Europe.



I don't think there is any image that could describe how an engagement like this would look like. Just picture a Hawker Hurricane trying to intercept a B-52.



In one of the two critical fronts in South America, the mobilizations will soon as a new offensive operation will begin, to defeat the enemy meek forces and show them how much they have underestimated a single subcontinent in the entire world. However, the plans to encircle enemy forces in Riberalta didn't work as planned.



Thus, another retreat is the only answer.



The situation slightly improves in Italy.



And finally, Cottbus is liberated. But now it has to be successfully defended against further incursions.



The small Polish Air Force had a meeting with the Flying Thetans... this is how things ended.



And ITZ came. Perhaps now abandoning the Balkans would be the only alternative, but these men are not cowards.



Natural selection is at work here. The cowards will end like dinossaurs or cattle. Millions have already given their lives for the defense of the human race.







Then, in Genoa, the worst comes. There is nothing that could be done but to retreat.



Reservists stand no chance against aliens in power armor, but much of the remaining industrial capacity of Brazil is in Recife. As reinforcements from Venezuelan forces are about to arrive, the five divisions in Fortaleza, who already managed to win a battle for the first time in South America, begin to head for Recife.





I should have used this for France. Regardless, in Poland, ITZ is very, very near, and if they hurry to stop the unstoppable fury of the Necron Tripods, the frontlines at the west will be completely broken. As the Polish divisions arrive to defend Cottbus, they'd discover something.











A legion with two tripod divisions, two power armor POPAMOLE infantry divisions together with the typical enemies fought before in the West front attacked Cottbus. There was only one reaction to have when witnessing such massive, undefeatable force of total rape.





Europe, Africa and the Middle East were on the verge of collapse. And the winter hasn't even ended yet.



The United States of Amerikwa were on the verge of complete defeat, as their industrial heartland in the East Coast was about to be overran. Even the city of Cleveland was about to meet ITZ.



Only in South America the enemy advance appears possible to be contained, and eventually defeated, however, if Colon is lost, everything will be for naught, and Central America has almost completely fallen already, where many of the countries refused to join the Foedus of Man.



Could Cleveland become the turning point for Kwanzania?



The two invasion forces in the Far East have merged their fronts, but their advance seemed to have slowed down a little, and the Japanese have successfully contained the alien attempt to crush them in their home islands for now, and such fact was the only good news in Asia.While the last stand of humanity seemed to be ending and ultimate extinction closer,

Strangely, the attack on Cottbus was interrupted by the enemy, despite their clear chances of victory. Perhaps they were taunting the defenders, playing with their emotions.



Such strange action from the aliens gave at last, a chance for retaking Kustrin.



Meanwhile, in the only subcontinent where the enemy advance has been bogged down, South America, the Alliance Guard forces continue their struggle. Aware of Churchill's speech, most of the remaining nations in South America know that he could only be referring to them, for the United States and Canada were on the brink of defeat. Perhaps they would be indeed, the last hope of humanity. If there was yet hope...



An attempt to liberate Lech, which the aliens left poorly defended, is launched.



Meanwhile, ITZ is almost over for Bulgaria, several divisions suffer the threat of being pocketed, and there is nothing that could be done, the battle for Europe is ending.



In fact, the situation puts Italy as the only country that could stand a chance due to the smaller front it would have to defend. ITZ over now, defeat... after all the struggle, after all the heroic victories in the Second World War, all the sacrifices would seem in vain, as the human race was into the brink of extermination.





Yet they resisted, yet they were determined to fight to the bitter end.



ITZ becomes even nearer for Poland, there is nothing that could be done now, the enemy was too powerful, too advanced, unstoppable. The end was nigh. WhiskeyWolf became more and more stressed, whispering strange words like Cleve, Kwanzania and ITZ and trying to hold himself amidst such terrible situation.



With air support, Lech was seemingly liberated



Until tripod divisions arrived, ruining completely the offensive.



A bloody battle begins in Africa between a motorized division and aliens in power armors.





The only field where the enemy is suffering significant losses is in naval warfare. Meanwhile, the liberation of Genoa begins. Air support is ordered for it, however.



An error in communications make them reach the wrong target.





And alien jamming of radio made it impossible to order for them to receive an order to fall back while they still could, as the powerful and extremely accurate ray guns of the tripods massacred the tactical bombers without mercy.





Thus, hundreds of aircrafts were destroyed.



But yet, for now, Genoa was liberated.



However, ITZ was coming for the entirety of the Alliance Guard forces in the Balkans. There was nothing that could be done. They have held the threat for five months already since November of the last year, but now, ITZ was going to happen, like that thing Cleve was talking about.



Paradox Interactive won't exist anymore...





Poor Kwanzanians in Orlando. Now they have to attempt surviving in their bunkers against alien tripods and machete rape gangs from Haiti. ITZ really came for Amerikwa and now the manboons are going to suffer terribly in their last days before extinction.







The situation is getting worse and worse, and Germany shows signs of being lost already. The enemy has been stopped for as long as possible, but sooner or later the worst would come for Europe.



The battle for Homs last many days, yet it seems to be an uphill battle, where victory is not possible, like the war as a whole, where all the forces of humanity managed to do was to buy a few months of time.







ITZ Coming to Sweden too, and eventually to Finland as well, but the Finns have managed to stop a terrible invasion before, right? Yes, but unlike the aliens, the Soviets were willing to negotiate a peace treaty.



The end is near for the defenders of Bulgaria, they would only starve... and die, one way or another. It was a terrible loss among so many terrible losses.



Reinforcements are sent from Bolivia to defend the last stronghold of Argentina.



Such was the last attempt to defend Homs, and unfortunately, it didn't work. Then, in 9th of March of 1941, the beginning of the Ultimate DOOM Expansion Set for Poland has begun.







An even more horrible offensive began against Cottbus, and there was nothing that could be done to stop it.



The Polish Army is divided, as part comply with WhiskeyWolf orders to reinforce Italy, the last bastion of humanity in Europe, and another part prepares to make their last stand in Poland.



The Finns and Swedes don't surrender easily to ITZ, yet in the end, all will be for nothing, for Europe was definitively doomed now.





The tragedy continues reaching horrible proportions, as yet another million is ranked up in casualties, and there could be more. This could indeed be the end of the human race.



Despite their courageous defense, there was nothing they could do to stop an attack fo such scale. Cottbus was lost, and sooner or later Germany would be completely lost as well. then, while the conflict continued, A shady man reached WhiskeyWolf's cabinet.



General WhiskeyWolf, I apologize for the surprise, but you have to leave Warsaw immediately and take a train for the far eastern Soviet cities still not occupied, we have everything arranged for your departure to south America.

And thus a Man in Black was killed, as WhiskeyWolf made enemies with a very powerful organization, the same organization that has intentionally provoked two world wars as part of their plans to create a New World Order... and as he refused their offer, the same would be given to another man.





And as the faithful Polish intelligence officers informed, they gave away that their goal was indeed to create a totalitarian world government. Such scum, Rockefellers, Rotschilds, Jews and others. It was time to enact further laws. And who knows what else could be behind such a conspiracy?



One day after, all secret societies were banned in Poland, and it was time to crush their puppets in South America... to create a truly democratic last hope for humanity, for if the future of humanity was to live under a world government by a Soviet tyranny, extinction by the aliens seemed more pleasant in comparison. And thus, WhiskeyWolf, escorted by an entire division of fully faithful men, took a train through all the way of Asia, to reach in South America.





Perhaps now was a good moment to forsake the Soviet Union, the prototype for the fascist new world order.



While a secret war has begun, the open war continued difficult, but for now, Genoa and Milan have been secured.



Strange acts of sabotage foil an attack against Santa Cruz. Or perhaps WhiskeyWolf has become way too paranoid after that meeting with the man in black. For due to its situation, supply problems were inevitable in many regions across South America.





The last stand of Poland proceeds.



And between the two enemies, there is little WhiskeyWolf could do to save Europe right now.



Yet, something impossible happened, as the aliens simply refused to advance in parts of Soviet Union. Maybe, maybe the clear acts of strategic incompetence and dumbfuckery by some of the greatest powers in the world were not due to stupidity. Maybe there was a far larger conspiracy at work ensuing the fall of mankind in exchange of who knows what?



Kustrin still hasn't fallen, however, the Germans are failing to supply it.







The situation seems to be at the tipping point. Sooner or later, Poland might fall, while WhiskeyWolf made his long journey to South America.



Stettin was liberated, but for a very short time, for the weary soldiers couldn't hold it from the attackers.







Then, the battle of Trento has begun.













Another of the few victorious battles against tripods, where fifteen divisions have managed to hold the tide with heavy artillery and armored vehicles support. Thus Italy would be the host of the last stand of humanity in Europe.



For even WhiskeyWolf have left Poland, where all seemed over now. Thousands of refugees heard about his departure and took the same way as well, while the Polish Intelligence conducted an operation to rescue German scientists while there was still time.

Was this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?

Is This the End? Part 2: The Last Stand of the Polish Army



Kustrin is threatened.



But with half a million of men defending it, only the most fearsome hordes could overran the region.



Meanwhile, whatever plans do exist of turning the Soviet Union into a world government, they seem to be delusions of grandeur at best, considering its situation.





Then, ITZ came again, as it became clear for the defenders of Kustrin they were close from having to do a last stand, but could almost half a million of men stop such a threat?





And because things always can get worse, Genoa is attacked by four divisions of the dreaded Tripods.



Sixty divisions will head for Warsaw, where they shall fight to the last man.



Florence and Rimini could give some hope, for with almost half a million defending each region, like what happened in Kustrin, except that the divisions in Kustrin were suffering with serious problems of organization, it would be possible to stop them, right?



Kielce, ground of one of the bloodiest battles of the Second World War, was also lost, as the forces in Przemysl ended completely cut off from supplies thanks to the dumbfuckery of the Slovak puppet government.



The Ultimate DOOM of Poland is closer and closer. Such was the end of Poland, the inevitable defeat all they managed to do, since the beginning, was to delay for several months.



And thus also is about to begin the Ultimate DOOM of Germany, while the Polish divisions hurry to reach Italy while there is still time.



Really, really bad news. Depending on what is coming from Central America, ITZ Over now for the human race and extinction will be the only certainty.



Get inside your bunkers! Run while you can because the Tripods are coming and after them the machete rape gangs!





Too late to refuse supporting the Soviets in the still publicly stable "alliance" now. Maybe those five Finnish divisions would discover the meaning of ITZ now. And thus they did, and no survivors ever came out to tell the history of what happened to those divisions.



The enemy continues to keep their hordes pressuring the defenders of Italy, as, after successfully holding off the first wave of Tripods, the soldiers at Trento face another, far larger enemy force.



And what seemed optimistic at first, would soon turn out to be a trap, as the two divisions entrapped several pockets of the defenders in Trento, to make things even worse.





The enemy forces are unstoppable. Poland is doomed. Had WhiskeyWolf not taken a train ticket out of there, he would be doomed as well. There were no great progress in the travel of millions of Polish refugees now. The people of the Soviet Union were not so lucky, as people who attempted to flee through the Pacific to South America were sent to death camps in Siberia.



Finland had their first great losses in this war.



The encirclement broke completely the defenders resistance in Trento, if Venice was lost, it would be impossible for much of the Polish army to reach Italy in time.



And while Trento was lost, a last stand in Przemysl has begun.



Sweden was being lost to a horde of illegal black aliens invading its south. Any similarities with real life are mere coincidences.



And against all odds, like in Kiev, Przesmysl wasn't lost yet.



To restablish supply lines, the fastest division is sent to temporarily retake Kielce.



Then, the offensive against Italy continues as brutally as it began.



A gap in the defenses, even if letting it would reduce the risk of losing part of the Polish Army before they could arrive in Italy with the lost of Venice, was a risk that couldn't be taken under such circumstances.



ITZ then finally came to Przemysl.

It will be too late for many divisions, which shall end trapped into the remnants of Yugoslavia.



Too late for anything... With the loss of Warsaw, ITZ over, and all they could do now is fight to the end. It was the choice they have made instead of trying to defend Italy, and now they faced the consequences of their choice.



Popamoles in power armor, tripods, undead. It would be a brutal Last Stand fought by the Polish Home Army.



The few victories of mankind now were happening almost exclusively in South America.



The threat is identified as a lone division of Power armors, something that is not nigh unstoppable like the Tripods, thus, there is still hope.





In 9th of April of 1941, the Last Stand of the Polish Army has begun.



Even knowing they stood no chance of victory, they fought bravely against such dread enemies, aware that they had no other choice now.



Meanwhile, the situation of South America becomes a little more complicated.







Lodz has become one of the largest war graves of the world. Except one where the bodies would never be buried. However, their names shall never be forgotten.



NEVAR FORGET THE 10TH OF APRIL OF 1941



In Italy, the front hasn't been stabilized yet, as hoped, the last bastion of coherent resistance in Europe was also slowly crumbling, as if the fall of Poland and Germany were not sufficiently bad.







The situation deteriorated quickly, but hopefully, the enemy would be stopped in Florence and Rimini.



Almost a million of men tried to defend Italy without success so far, but there was still hope, a faint hope, that mankind, if not able to win the war, could at least manage to survive in these dark times.







Although not undefeatable, the Xenu Renegades can easily defeat a single infantry division.



The final attempt to hold their ground in Italy was about to begin.









However, the enemy was still gaining ground, even against such a large amount of defenders.





Not even a hundred thousand men in reinforcements was enough to turn the tide, as even more than half a million men were insufficient to stop such an enemy.





Because it can't get worse than that.





Florence also fell quickly after Rimini





And thus, Europe's last hope was gone. Europe, Asia, North Amerikwa, Australia. There was no hope for them, as it would become very clear from the intelligence reports WhiskeyWolf browsed as he reached a harbor in the far eastern territories of the Soviet Union, where thousand of free citizens of States which haven't forbade them from fleeing amassed to depart to the last bastion of human resistance in the world.

ITZ over now in Europe, and the Soviet Union is crumbling, slowly, but assuredly. The old conspiracy that threatened the democracies in Earth would become severely weakened, but not defeated.



In the Far East, only the Japanese Home islands will survive and hold the tide of the enemy invasion in the end. Islands have been the only types of territories, with the exceptions of Britain, that have been spared of the horrors, for apparently the enemy was clueless about the idea of amphibious assaults.



Only South America wasn't completely crushed yet, however, sooner or later the legions that were going against the Last Stand of Kwanzania would begin their assault against it, and thus, securing as much of Central America as possible while that didn't happend would be critical. There was only one way to achieve that, as it became clear Italy was beyond hope except for Sicily: by transporting all the armies in Italy to South America while it wasn't too late yet.

The tension is killing me.

Japan has much stronger industrial base than South America, perhaps it could be a better base of operations?

In Italy, you could still try to hold the Gustav line, before evacuating to the Sicily. Too bad you have failed to reach Warsaw. There, you could have been able to hold them for much longer.

Soldiers in Exile



Parts of remaining merchant fleets in Greece and Italy have volunteered to support the inevitably necessary evacuation of soldiers from Italy, as it became clear that it would be impossible to hold any ground in continental Europe.



The slower divisions are prioritized, for they are the ones with the greatest risk of being overran, and thus, the largest evacuation in History has begun, for the soldiers in Italy could only buy time for divisions that were still retreating, or at least, such was the impression left in the previous battles.



With the brutal enemy offensive seemingly unstoppable, a brave Swiss infantry division volunteers to sacrifice themselves to buy time for everyone by making a last stand in Rome.



For the situation of the soldiers of the Aliance Guard is truly complicated, and the risk of them being pocketed and overran by the enemy ever present.



A risk that could happen right now, as the battle for Anzio, another defeat that could only be delayed, has begun.



Reinforcements barely arrived in time to stop the disaster, while they bought time for the slowest divisions to arrive safely.











Maybe it was too late for the troops retreating towards Anzio already.



Such was a very close call in such difficult operation to evacuate continental Italy.









However, their mission, as a whole, was far from over yet, there were still more than forty hundred thousand men to evacuate.





A terrible loss could happen if the divisions in Foggia took too long to arrive.







And now they'd have to delay the inevitable until the slower divisions could arrive, in another battle against such an enemy.







An attack done with reckless ferocity by enemies to whom death had little meaning and brought no fear, as reinforcements arrived. Thus seventy divisions, suffering from severe organization problems and undestrength, tried to halt the advance of the tripods.





But when it was clear their advance was too slow, the enemy sent even more tripods to finish off everything.





And then, they came. Aircraft carriers more advanced than anything ever seen, but to their fortune, far outnumbered and without any escort.



Ensuring a victory in such important naval battle, for to lose it was to lose Palermo.





Such enemies are quite persistent.







And despite all their conquests, in naval battles they were terribly bad.





While a new struggle begin in South America, the final destination of such soldiers in exile.
