<strong>[ Game -> Preview ]</strong>
<p>It's been a while since we had some real news and I just KNOW this
is exactly what we needed! Another fucking vanilla preview for an
undoubtably <a href="http://www.ea.com/official/lordoftherings/bfme2/us/home.jsp" target="_self" title="THIS GAME WILL SMELL">vanilla game</a>, written by a guy with the totally leet name <a href="http://www.wiredwrists.com/1337.jpg" target="_self" title="actual picture lol"><span class="author">Ure "Vader" Paul</span></a>. <a href="http://www.actiontrip.com/" target="_self" title="LOL">ActionTrip</a> has got the <a href="http://www.actiontrip.com/previews/thelordoftheringsthebattleformiddleearth2.phtml" target="_self" title="ActionTrip wtf">scoop</a>:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>We were glad to hear that bases may now be built anywhere you wish,
whereas earlier, players were restricted by the game's storyline and
could not raise structures where they pleased. Additional buildings are
offered as you upgrade your base, so you can improve units as well as
the defenses of your city. It will be possible to strengthen the base
with extra catapults and guard towers (which can be placed on any part
of the map - even next to the enemy fortress if you want).</p>
</blockquote>
<p>I think I get EA's game development/marketing strategy: Make a game
based on a big-ass cash-cow license and intentionally leave out things
that have been not just standard, but fucking <em>mandatory</em>(such
as, oh, being able to build your base wherever you want) and then when
the sequel comes round, introduce these features as a brand-spankin'
new innovation! Wow! It just boggles the mind.
