Is there any reason to buy the expanded/extended edition (or whatever it's called) rather than buying the vanilla version for half the price and then downloading the free patch?

where are you finding it for half off? The EE I bought from Amazon was $35 shipped and the regular version was a few dollars cheaper.

The EE comes with a short story, a map, a game guide, 2 music cd's, a making of DVD as well as the EE game itself. If you buy the NA edition it will come censored and without a manual. Yes Atari was too cheap to include it those fuckers.

If you want the uncensored version plus a manual you have to buy the UK version, and Gogamer is selling it for $49 I believe.

If you get the NA EE edition make sure you pick up the blood patch from the forums and there is already a partial uncensored patch for EE here
