What if Bethesda had made KOTOR? What would it look like?

Here's my view:

-It would be in the retarded TES engine ofcourse, like Fallout 3
-Single PC, RT kombat. Kinda like Jedi Knight games but with stats and sheeit.
-Instead of thieves guild and dork brotherhood, you would have Jedi Order, Bounty Hunters Guild, Sith Order, Imperials, Republic, Rebellion, etc etc.
-Game would be set after the OT.
-Only one or two planets, but open ended instead of HUBs. Or, multiple planets but limited sandboxing. Actually, it would be interesting to see Bethesda deal with the Star Wars issue of going to different planets instead of staying on one like in most rpgs.
-No gaymances
-No Carth, or any other annoying NPCs. No retarded HK 47.

But would it have been a better game than what Bioware gave us?

You would be able to join the Rebbelion, become Head of the Jedi Council, Leader of the Mercenaries Guild, God of the Ewoks and still derp around the Death Star and get quests from Palpatine...

So basically, Revan.

It will suck less than the bioware fudgepackery, that I am sure.

Having said that, anything star wars is homo, so open world and no romances will be of little relief.

The sequel would be made by Obsidian, giving us an :incline: over the original but ending up rushed and with many rough and unfinished parts that don't work well together.

Let's see...
The game would be set on Tatooine between the original and new trilogies for maximum movie nostalgia.
It would advertise an entire planet to explore but it would really only be 15 square miles or so.
The main capital would be Mos Eisley, again for movie nostalgia.
Level scaling Jawas and sand people everywhere.
The Hutt Cartel, the Imperial Forces, and the Rebellion would all have their own guild houses and quest chains. You would be able to join all three at the same time.
Tatooine would be full of random dungeons and monsters.
A few movie characters would show up with their original voice actors for the main plot, which would probably link to the beginning of episode 4.
There would be a space battle mechanic that was hyped to hell but would end up being horribly underwhelming and tedious after you do it once. And then space battles would feature heavily in the main quest.
Somehow there would be an arena in Mos Eisley.
Instead of magic there would be force powers because your character is a jedi for some reason.
It would have all the other flaws of Oblivion. Level scaling, retarded or just nonexistant dialog, a main quest that can be beaten at level 2, completely broken AI, the list goes on.

and official critics would be all like
"there's an entire planet to explore, that's one of the reasons this game is the best role playing game ever".

You forgot to mention the supposedly vast, sprawling civilian centres and trade hubs populated by a grand total of two or three dozen NPCs and around twelve houses.

The main boss would be called "Darth Hurter".

The game would start with your father and pregnant mother being killed by Darth Hurter.

You escape by performing a C-section from inside your mother using a lightsaber.

The skill menu's background graphic would have swimming midichlorians in it.

Shortly after the game begins, you will meet Yoda. Yoda will explain how works the targeting system does.

Then the game will cut to Yoda's wedding.

During the wedding Yoda's bride is kidnapped.

Now you and Yoda (party member) find her, you must.

Random encounters with level scaling Sith Lords. Yet Mandalorians kill you with one hit when you try to steal their Nerf Chease.

There would an option to go to Jabba's palace walk on everything flat surface, snoop in every room, stand on Jabba's head and no one would react. But steal a fruit and everyone would attack you.

You would press "E" on a slave girl and she would purr and then say "hey handsome." Then she would animate awkwardly as if to entice you in for sex, then glitch through a nearby table, sending a fruit plate flying into Jabba's head.

Don't worry, he's tagged essential.
