What determines when I can use Donald Trump or Joe Biden buttons?

I saw the new tagline on the forums:

I lost the ability to rate with some buttons, I'm sad​

And then I wondered if I had lost any buttons. And then I remembered that sometimes I'm able to rate posts using a wide range of Donald Trumpisms, or with a senile Joe Biden "You know, man, the thing."

Is there anything predictable that determines whether I can respond with a "Yuge!" or "Build the wall"?

I think you're right. I just went over to the political section, and there were the buttons. I guess I feel dumb now for having posted a question with such a simple answer.
