I heard MoC was shit. Have they patched it into something decent? I loved W:SotHR and W:DO, so I was looking forward to this until I saw it wasn't going down well on the forums I saw.

I played the single player demo and quickly went from "Yay!" through "Meh" to "MoC's DEAD". As I love the universe, I'd earnestly try the MP demo, maybe it'd encourage me to buy the full version...

...but why the fuck some people can no longer make DEMOS smaller than 1 GB is beyond me.

It's all that fancy art, FMV (especially ones of developer logos) and cinema sound they like to pack in.

A recent issue of Games for Windows mag had this game for their Tom vs Bruce column (for anyone who doesn't know it's two guys going at each other with a strat game, sort of a multiplayer mini AAR). It wasn't very encouraging: they were basically saying that the only strategy that the game offers is to build up a huge army and swing it towards the other side. The end.

Shame. With the older games I felt that the strategy meant something. SotHR was a hard and unforgiving game for many folk, and I liked that. I didn't want to see it become a dull "mass and tank rush" game.

Me too. It makes my blood boil. I have no idea why they'd think we would want to see their shitty videos again and again. What makes it even more insulting is that they let you skip all the real game/story intros that you might actually want to watch. I usually insert blank videos or otherwise disable the developer and publisher ones ASAP. It is better for my blood pressure that way.

One day I'll meet and recognize the guy who voiced that and I'll have been conditioned to kill him thanks to seeing to that video again and again. Same goes for a few of the other more obnoxious ones.

MoC is unadulterated mass market pap designed to stimulate overfed and underdeveloped pieces of shit into thinking they're being cunningly strategic when they send massive horde A to kill massive horde B.
