There's a thing called Dark Ages of Azeroth. Another called Azeroth Wars and one called Lordaeron the Aftermath.

They cover the events in the end of the campaign and aftermath, on a massive map with all the factions. Nice for multiplayer fun.

My favorite campaign was Wanderers of Sorceria. Huge (6 separate campaigns with like 10-15 levels each, not including cutscenes), with consistently good/varied map design and fun stuff. Lots of custom heroes and factions. Decent writing with a story that is surprisingly interesting. Lots of secrets and even some C&C and hidden content reserved for a built-in new game plus feature. Looking back its a bit weeb-ish but I'd still highly recommend it. And now that I see its been updated with new stuff I'll probably need to replay it in the future.

BTW, protip for custom campaigns: If you want to play on Hard (or Easy) make sure you quit and start each new level individually, or you'll be defaulted to normal every time.

If you want to play some WC3 campaign goodness, try finding the Matthias Chronicles campaigns. Its huge, its hard and its helluva fun.

Matthias Chronicles was horrible. Boring, flat map design. Tons of bugs and weird issues. Really screwed with the lore and had horrible grammar in its unskippable cutscenes. Maybe it improves later but I dropped it half way in.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
That makes so much sense now that I think about it. I was playing the Dwarf Campaign, and I noticed that the difficulty seemed to change a little. I still need to finish the third mission.

I'll check out Wanderers of Sorceria.

Yeah, if you go F10->options->gameplay you'll see the current difficulty. Really annoying to need to reset but at least the levels load snappy in 2015.
