I still can't believe Paradox is stupid enough to not realize there is no game won't be for a while. This shit ain't releasing until the end of 2025 if they are lucky.Even weirder is that they butchered Cities Skylines 2 because of a forced early release and that was a actual potential cash cow.
Oh no, those reports of them expecting to sell over 10 million copies of this game are actually true.

Paradox has a management problem. Significant amounts flow in through certain channels and out through others, and I don't think anyone at the top knows why. The only thing they can is multiply DLC for games that sell.

Imagine the hilarity when this game announces another delay.

Remember this blast from the past?

Paradox says “we are incredibly satisfied with what we have seen”.

That’s makes a grand total of one of us. I’d like to see the portions they are satisfied with.

They are very satisfied with the brutal and visceral melee combat.

I've lost all track of time, I still instinctively think I'm in the 2010s most of the time, and that kids born in or after 2000 are in their diapers and baby cribs.

Temporal dislocation is a condition that affects millions of people all over the world. Be kind, rewind.

Agreed. When I say 20 years ago, I'm generally talking about the 80s, not 2004.

Think about it from the perspective of a Swedish entrepreneur. When you bought this brand, your son was dressing up in dresses at kindergarten. Then he founded his first black metal band and joined the socialist youth movement. Then he was beaten by Muslims for the first time. Now he's an adult, he just ended his first gay affair. What else will happen in his life before this game comes out?

Was TCR already "developing" this shitshow, or was it still in the previous studio's hands at that time?

The game entered active development in early 2021 after the pitch was accepted in late 2020. I had heard that they were given an approximately two-year dev cycle (which seems to be somewhat achieved as they reached Post-Alpha late last year so eh) and it's mostly Junior staff to get them trained for future Action-Adventure titles in an effort to make TCR the "Naughty Dog of the UK" which Dan Pinchbeck said he envisioned for the studio before he left.

Just look at The Rings of Power.
Rangs of Powah was universally mocked because Tolkien scholars are a high IQ fanbase who stick to their books. And because Christopher did a great job preserving his father's legacy.

Meanwhile modern IPs are all dragged through the mud many times and lose their identity.

Now you know what it's like to be kindred. You're forever stuck to the night you were embraced, and the world passed you by.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
It's going to be complete and utter shit.

Not even anything remotely close to an RPG at this point.

They get torn to shreds even on the Paradox forums whenever they post an update.

For most shitty RPGs (like Two Worlds II and expansions) you can still generally find something nice to say about the art department's effort that deserved to be in another game where design actually tried. Here, truly no fucks are given by anyone on this. Design is already at odds with itself that the Paradox forums can figure it out, namely that it goes from selling "yOu aRe tHe mOnStEr!" to having the Clan Tifa, the mess the Banu Haqim have been hacked into as one of the few non-DLC-cancered playable clans. The art design choice to make them look one clothing piece away from the numbnuts running around in black bloc setting fire to things, and those financing them, is great. Thug_03 is such an improvement over the memorable outfits of Bloodlines!

Also - you're in Seattle and can't play Toreador? WTF is this shit?

> The Chinese Room is a British video game developer based in Brighton that is best known for exploration games.

Ah, clueless as fuck, then. An even better choice than Hardsuit Labs!

Honestly, yeah. Some distant studio's rendition of Seattle is innately going to be better than any studio here, because the level of cancerous wokeness you'd encounter would be beyond belief. I can't even explain it to anyone who doesn't live here in a way they'd believe, so I'll just leave it at that.

Sounds like a populace of disposable bloodbags, except you'd be eating a lot of clown. Worse than rat or addict, though often synonymous. But there would be a silver lining.

You are the Monster

Blood sustains you and powers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population by night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on civilians and lure them into deep, dark alleys to sate your Hunger.
It would be kind of too easy to lure, just go old school Brujah and wear a MAGA hat.
Or the old conversation-starter, the rainbow swastika. Oh, wait, the Non-Productive Collegiate (NPC) are into that now...
