Well, thing is, the game doesn't really encourage that because of the basic powerset given to werewolves which is pretty much directly made to be best-applicable to knucklehead approach to brawling with everything. Even in the situation where the GM finally gets pissed and puts aggravated damage everywhere, the best solution is still just to kill em right back.

Pretty odd decision to do things like that, with the only option is to charge in and rip them apart.

But on the metaplot stuff: my first WoD product was Mage: The Ascension. They make loads of references to what I suspect to be metaplot points, like Doissestep. They claim you can play like it happened, that it's going to happen or that it won't happen, which makes for a really disjointed feel on what the actual storyline is.

Well it's not like it's the only option, its just that its most often the best option since even a werewolf completely min-maxed to being a scrawny nerd is still far better in a fight than 99% of the human population.

Being murder machines is kind of what gets them in trouble in the first place (from a lore standpoint).

One would assume that flamethrowers are too bulky to hide under a trench-coat, while silver swords and knives put you into melee distance, where Wwolves still have the advantage. Lastly, silver bullets may work, but I don't know how difficult these are to obtain in RL America (for not to mention OWoD's grimderp version).

In other news, OChangeling's 20th Anniversary Edition has been already funded in record time: https://www.kickstarter.com/project...-dreaming-20th-anniversary-ed?ref=hero_thanks

Looking forward (NOT) to extra passive-agressive, bitter writing about the "EVILS OF GROWING UP!!", why functional adults and brick walls are considered deadly threats and how dangerous modern science and technology are. On the plus side, this book will do wonders if you are looking for NChangeling villain material.

As I understand it Changeling: The Lost is the bleakest NWoD game, and up there for all of WoD.
Worse than Wraith?
Imagine this: You live a normal life, happy enough with your loving wife and young child. Then you get kidnapped by some asshole Fey, tortured until you utterly broke down and got turned into an ottoman for them to rest their feet on. Your mind gets wiped and you exist in a mindless stupor. But for some reason you get a glimpse of a memory of your old life back, and a desire to go back home slowly begins to overwhelm your desire to stay. You figure out a plan to outfight/smart/charm/bargain the asshole who has been resting his feet on you for who knows how long and you maange to get home. But as it turned out like a century passed while from your perspective it was only a year or two, or you come back ten years older and only a week has passed. Why? Because fuck you.

But your family has not missed you, because your place was taken by a Fetch. This is pretty much a duplicate of yourself minus a couple of character traits. If you're unluck, these are your flaws. And this Fetch is not all too keen on giving you your life back, because they are you. This is also why killing them is a Bad Idea, because you just killed yourself but you're still alive and you killed your memories and oh god make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop.

Oh, and that asshole who kidnapped you in the first place? He wants you back, and is willing to fuck with you in any possible way to get what he wants. Know the Antediluvians from V:tM? Think something on that power level, and it's 100% dedicated to fuck you over in every conceivable way. He haunts your nightmares and gives you a choice: either comply with their demands or prepare to have your existence fucked over, or even worse: be dragged back to his domain. Why do they even do this? Part for the fun of it, part because they are required to face strife and conflict in their existence, otherwise they cease to exist. Can you fight them? Sure, but when you've reached the point you can do that you're well on your way to become a Fey yourself. Have fun!

Doesn't answer the question. Which is more bleak/sad/depressing to you?

Changeling turns you into a cuck.

I think that just about covers it.

White Wolf’s lead Storyteller: – There will be a release in 2016
Martin Elricsson, Lead Storyteller and Brand Architect at the newly Swedish White Wolf (recently acquired by Paradox Interactive) kindly took the time for a brief Q&A with Imagonem about upcoming plans.
Caution, that interview has an highly concentrated dose of :edgy:

I like how he complains that the "classic editions" are stuck in the "eternal nineties", when what he reveals of the new setting continues to be grimderp and over-the-top bleak. Also, they should have asked him about Brucato and Justian Achilli.
