"So have they hired anyone who knows how to make games yet?"

I still blame the audience more than anything. For all the people that enjoy First Person RPGs out there, few have respect (or comprehension of) for the original masters who did it best.
Curse all declinefags.
I don't understand why you have been in a consistent beer-fueled rage state, Zep. Sure their approach to the KS was underwhelming but you're obviously a fan, assuming based on your avatar. Is there no hope in your mind, or has the decline truly got to you?
Remember me? I did something cool 30 years ago. I'm old and broke now...but would like 20 year old girlfriend....Interested? I has Viagra!

Enter the Lich
As many of you have likely noticed, fundraising for Underworld Ascendant is hovering just below the $900K mark. While language localization, the stretch goal at the $900k level, is important for our non-English speaking fans, it’s not a particularly “sexy” feature and seemingly not one to bring in new backers, or excite old ones.
So, we’re adding Liches to the $900K stretch goal. Sexy enough for ya?
Liches are one of the most feared adversaries one can encounter in the Underworld. Old, powerful and full of hate, liches were once powerful wizards who, in a desperate bid for immortality, have sacrificed their souls to gain forbidden knowledge and eternal life as an undead necromancer. Forever damned, liches sit on their thrones of bone awaiting the time when their powers are strong enough for them to rise up and dominate the living.
Soon these terrible beings will be in the game. Have fun with that!
In addition, not only will we add liches to the game as a creature type, but we will also add one particular lich to Underworld Ascendant with its own unique personality and motivations. Thought killed long ago by a great hero, the evil wizard Tyball survived his fate to become a being of even greater power.
Tyball, moments before his “death”
After a lifetime immersed in the primal forces of the universe, the skeletal remains of the sorcerer Tyball have held firm to the material plane, refusing to descend into nothingness. Where it steps, weeds wither and the bones of the fallen rise, full of malevolent intent. Does it recall the many acts of treachery and depravity in its past? Or is it simply a violent, hate-filled echo of its former consciousness? Whatever the case, the lich remains. A villain before, now… an abomination.
The Necropolis of the Ancients, an area of the Underworld that will unlock when we hit $950K in fundraising, would make a good stomping (haunting?) ground for Tyball, don’t you think? First let’s invite Tyball into our playground, then let’s give him a home!
Other Stuff
Next Wednesday, June 17th, OtherSide Entertainment will be conducting another game-play twitch session. This time, we’ll be playing Payday 2. Why Payday 2? Well, other than its more fun than a Stygian death trap, we specifically want to look at the game’s skill tree and advancement systems. And rob some banks. Mostly the bank bit.
So join Paul, Chris, Tim, and Will next week for all the fun!

You forgot the default unity concept art shot. But I got ya covered, bro.

Pff, I got the actual ingame footage from the newest build right here:
Is that really what this is though, a half-assed, compromised cash-in? Again, there's certainly some underwhelming aspects at play but maybe this truly is the UU3 Neurath has been dreaming to make for 25 years...? Maybe it could be the next level for the Immersive Sim? I know if I were in that position with a dream I'd be a little upset with the negative reactions of the audience and weak financial support in comparison to other KS' (relatively strong when looked at singular though). Hell I'm upset over the underwhelming support for my current vision of incline.
You were singing of the decline from the very beginning, what makes you so certain beyond numerous yet not definitive clues?
Disrespectful, despicable miscreants. Reserve thy judgement.
If the money is to go into the game, not the alleged viagra/hookers, what's the problem?
Zep Zepo exposed as longtime DailyWTF reader
Do you still read it, or are you one of those crapabbles who quit the site when they started having fun fictionalizing the entries extravagantly?

Haha, you got me, but I think I quit reading *DailyWTF around 2006-2007? When did the fictionalizing start?

I don't recall exactly. I just remember from reading the comments that there was a minor exodus of "grumpy oldschool IT dude" types when the site started becoming more, uh, "preppy" I guess.
There was also a rather embarrassing period of a year or so when they changed the site's name to "Worse Than Failure" because "WTF" was obscene or whatever. And there were these awful comic strips, except they turned out to be kind of fun because people made their own parody versions and posted them in the comments. Ah, good times.
EDIT: amusing typo
