I wonder how many fuckin' reviews Underrail will have here.

It only needs one.

I give it 100

/5. Only in Underrail can you get so deep into the incline.

In fact, let's promote the word "incline" to "undercline."

You will meet a type of amphibian that is most certainly a ninja, although it lives in the water almost full-time, has no shell, and is a hematophage.

So, now that the games development is in the vinegar strokes... how fucking long till it is out? September or more like Christmas?
I have other shit to play, but I will drop it the minute that this is finished.

You should play the game now, at least halfway through, so that you can play it again come release.

There are very, very few games with the sort of replayability that would prompt me to make this suggestion unequivocally. Underrail is one of them. Even if you were to play all the way through the game in its current state, you will almost certainly enjoy your post-release playthrough just as much when trying a different build.

The game is just that good. No one who insists on waiting for release seems inclined to believe me, but I am usually one of the ones who waits for full release also, and I'm telling you: You don't need to. It's like Fallout. You can play it twelve times over the course of years before the shine starts to wear off.

When is this expected to be completed? Or should I just play it now anyways. I generally avoid alpha and beta testing games and rather wait until it is finished.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
One thing that surprises me is that, for this game being so highly praised here, very few people talk about it. I mean, that was true for KOTC too, but why isn't it more popular (here) if it's really as good as y'all say? I'll try it come August.

Lots of people are holding with their playthrough till release so they can't really discuss it here yet.

The general rule is:

Because idiots would rather talk, whine and kvetch about Bethesda and Bioware games while pretending they don't secretly love them.

Not to mention if you've been paying attention to the Underrail thread over the years you'd notice that it went from rarely active to fairly regularly active over the past year or so. I used to post there just to bump the thread sometimes and I haven't felt that urge (haven't needed to) in at least a year.

A 112 page thread is not too bad, I'd say, for an Indie that's not out yet.

Of course the Bio/Beth threads are far bigger so, agreed, thread size is more related to butthurt than merit.

You've been here since 2005 and haven't noticed that the Codex likes whining about / shitting on / making fun of / being butthurt about RPGs much more than anything else?

Dunno about others but I've been mostly avoiding Underrail because I don't want the modern experience of having everything about the game spoiled before I get to play it.

I've only read one genuine complaint about Underrail, which was less about the game itself and more about someone being butthurt that Codexers don't discuss or praise Age of Decadence enough, instead lavishing too much attention on Underrail.

He then proceeded to shit on Underrail like a flock of vengeful ravens in a quad, but the agenda-based motivation there was pretty obvious.

I think it will be a big hit among rpg fans. Game touches all the buttons.

I can only liken remaking Oblivion with Skyrim to reshaping a pile of dog shit such that it looks more like a pile of cat shit.

Except the shitting part man had a point. Underrail and AoD should be sold in a bundle, both receiving long glorious threads. "Incline bundle" or something.

Also my casual butt is hurt because all that backtracking in Underrail.

I suspect one of the reasons AoD is discussed less is that it's sort of like a CYOA, with a focus on C&C, dialog, and story. That's good, but people aren't going to spend a bunch of time discussing how they chose A on page 37, which sent them to page 14, or dissecting specific dialog segments at great length.

Combat is one of Underrail's greatest strengths and main focuses, its combat system is much more elaborate and varied, and there's a lot more there to discuss, dissect, and argue about, in my opinion. Believe me, I was very excited when I cranked up AoD, created an assassin, read some interesting and well written introductory dialog scenes, and was then taken into an event during which I snuck into some rich guy's room at an inn, was placed in the actual room directly after a text segue, and played through the scene. It actually felt like playing a role in a scene, while still leaving choices up to the player, unlike the vast majority of RPGs.

But that sort of thing isn't what Codexers like to argue and bitch about at length.
