There are people who are seriously overthinking games like Catherine or Lollipop Chainsaw?

I understand some posters' obsessions about story, setting, combat systems, things that may have merits in fun, but yes, articles like those pushes the boundary of what actually matters in games. If these fuckers ever play Bloodbowl and see all the girls showing up in skimpy outfits and typically start with lower armor value, making them easier to kill, they'd probably start fighting for equality in some fantasy sports game and there'd be some random anonymous horde whiteknighting their idea just for the 'gaming is relevant to my world(tm)' bullshit they're spewing.

That's how fucked up the gaming journalism gets at the moment creating stupid controversies that drive traffic to their websites, while shying away from publicity when called out on their bullshit like paid reviews and undeserved ratings to shitty games, preferring to hide behind their fans and let the internet sling mud at their attackers.

In Kotaku's defense they're pretty blatant about doing it for the page hits. They even have counters visible so people can know when they are most effective at getting how and sweaty clicky-clicky action.

I respect their singular purpose and honesty about it (though not enough to frequent their site).

Using Eurogamer for my gaming news isn't likely any better though, in the long run.

It's like looking at something a creature two steps behind on the evolutionary ladder would write. A retarded creature at that.

Don't insult Prosper like that. I'll take anything Prosper has to write over shit like kotaku.

The dorito pope and a gormless looking cunt from polygon (sim city shilling) are upset that someone from IGN is better at licking arses than they are.

They're practically falling over themselves to give out 9.5 scores.

The Kotaku mob are still very much after Kain. A couple of weeks ago he wrote an article which theorised in passing that 'leaked' footage of a Star Wars game (that appeared on Kotaku) might be viral marketing, and they all started yelling at him on Twitter for making such an unprofessional assumption.

And the best part is, yell as much as they like, but they can't touch Kain because he's not in a position where he needs to lick EA's ass. They're just outraged because his approach to gaming journalism exposes their shilling.

Anyone know what happened to Wainwright?
Drifted back to relative obscurity in the Twittersphere. The confirmation that she did, in fact, threaten Eurogamer with legal action certainly caused her to take a hit with what little reputation she would've had, though.

Kotaku at the head of good gaming journalism.
Okay, This Bread Really Looks Like Vaginas

Seriously, who the fuck does Schreier think he is? He writes for a company that is the embodiment of all that is bad not only in gaming journalism, but in journalism as a whole. And he thinks to leave comments on other people's journalism?

Sessler was also recently involved in this shit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjIpPUE8epA#t=6m50s

Then Kotaku did an article about how violence in video games should only be allowed if it's against ugly people:
