Total War: Rome II has received its fifth patch today, the changelog of which can be viewed here.

Far more interesting however, is the addition of the Seleucid faction which is available free to all owners of the game.

is that purple area aka Syria supposed to really be the Seleucid empire?

The rest of the empire consists of vassal states to balance out the game.
At the moment, Selucids are completely broken when it comes to multiplayer since they have the best shock cavalry among the hellenic factions, the greatest melee cavalry in the game, the strongest elephants in the game and scythed charioteers.
They have weak infantery and skirms but that doesn't matter as you'll only bring cavalry, elephants and charioteers anyways.

  1. The perfomance has increased remarkably since launch.
  2. The launch was shitty, but I'm glad they actually did something about it this time around, unlike some other games.
  3. Yes, I'm looking at your Empire: Total war
