<p>... of Might and Magic. At least Kotaku <a href="http://kotaku.com/5610253/a-new-era-of-might-and-magic-begins" target="_blank">spotted something</a> on the official M&amp;M facebook page.</p>

<p>We've poked Ubisoft regarding the trailer, and will update should anything come of that poking. With GamesCom kicking off next week in Germany, I wouldn't expect this mystery to remain a mystery for too much longer.</p>

Before i would have been overjoyed to see a trailer about a new might and magic game, but these days it may as well be a mmo ,a facebook game or a shooter, i still cant stomach what is done with xcom license. With all the old franchise rape that's been going on lately, I would suspect that this is another "reboot" a la Dark Messiah, or even Dark Messiah II for that matter. It could just be a DS game since I believe that there was an M&M released around the holiday season last year as well. Either way, that sparkling Ubi logo informs us that it'll be an XBOX port and you'll have to deal with their insane DRM.

The might and magic games failed because players were too worried about stats. We've boiled down Might and Magic 10 to a more pure RPG experience, where you can click the left mouse button right trigger to swing your sword, block, or cast a spell, depending on what Bethesda's fantastic radiant AI (which we have paid around $2 million to use) thinks it's appropriate to do in the situation. We believe this will enhance player control.

All right, here's a question to someone market-savvy: does Ubisoft already control an MMORPG franchise? If they already have it it's rather unlikely that they'll launch another one; if they don't we can be 80% sure that it's an MMORPG.

As someone who liked pretty much every M&M spin-off game developed in the Ubi era (including the puzzle game on the DS, but excluding HoM&M V expansion packs), I'm looking forward to this.
