Morrowind's quiet tracks are damn good.

Also, Deus Ex had a very unique soundtrack that fit perfectly.

Some of your design ideas might be a bit crusty at times, but your taste in game music is right up there ;)

Ultima 8, Ravenloft my top 2, all others too difficult to rank

I also find strategy type games tend to have the best soundtracks.

Ultima VIII's soundtrack will still remain one of the fucking best. Especially when played through a Roland JV1080.

Too hard to choose among older/classic RPGs.

But from the current 'gen' my fave soundtrack is Risen's (with a shout out to Divinity 2's).

- the most memorable individual song would have to be 'that one' from the first ravenloft: you all know which I mean.

Just off the top of my head

Fallout had a spectacular soundtrack.
Planescape (similar to FO)
Mass Effect 1 (ME2 was disappointing because the music wasn't as great)
VTMB
mmorpg LOTRO, as well

Arcanum. I've always been in to the somber violin stuff and all that. Also, haven't really played a lot of games with that kind of soundtrack, which makes it unique (though that might just be because of my ignorance).
